...Sue and Jon I really was just kidding you guys!! I'm sorry!...
Don't apologize! We were flattered that someone knew we were here! Actually, we were thinking about offering our verandah for a party long before the wine and cheese party idea came up. We like to entertain, esp when we're on vacation with a bunch of lushes like us. :teeth:

I like the Patty room with a cash bar idea. (I prefer Patty Rooms so much more than Paddy Wagons, but that's another story.)

The Roses
Uh, Jon just reminded me that we are no longer The Roses. Now we're "The PAHW" (Pirate and His Wench) pirate: Just wait 'til I get my hands on that guy that started the pirate thread.....Grrrrrrrrrrr :)

Wait-I don't get it- does she look like me?

I don't know but she is a cutie! And tell her I love her new glasses! SO cool!!!! :cool1:

Night all! No church tomorrow (supposed to get 6-10 inches tonight and 1-3 tomorrow!!) so we are loafing it again! But, I am tired, so off to bed we go!
Geez! Only 9:00! WoW! I feel old!

I new what you meant. You'd think it was common sense but like you said some people just think we should all cow-tow to them and don't ask anything nicely.

The Parent Trap is an all time fave of mine. Growing up my dad would get so irritated and roll his eyes because my sister and I would rent it over and over and over. Now I love watching it with meg. The new version is pretty good to.

Ya' know we can always have private parties - who says we have to invite everyone else?!?! Oh, wait, everyone can read this can't they? OOOPSS!! I feel like Bush now! (BTW I Love Bush (please no political bashing!) but that story was just too funny - like something out of Naked Gun movies!)

Roses- That's great you'd open up your place. I'd love to just get a peak at such a great stateroom. I would be happy to offer our cabin also but since we are in a cat. 11  , I am sure we wouldn't all fit. :rotfl2: :)

OK - I didn't take notes, but hopefully I will hit all the highlights here on our snowy (well, make that an official Blizzard) morning with no church (yup, can't even make it less than a mile from our house to go).

ohsodisney, I know this is over with, but you are far from known for smoking, it's just that the two of you have similar experiences and I am sure she was trying to rib you along in your efforts to quit - you hadn't update us on giving up the quitting thing. Quitting is a good thing - but I totally understand needing it in a stressful part of your life. Hey, and I don't care if you get mad that I said you should quit - you should.

Your husband should see, unless they are an evil and ruthless company which they sound like they are not, a very substantial pay increase to be moved in the beltway area. You should be able to afford the jump in housing prices. You definately will not see a windfall from your current home that will allow you to purchase a new home - you will need to plunk in a ton more money down there.

I will keep it to drinks prior to dinner at the Wilderness Lodge right now - as I haven't firmed up my plans for that evening yet. I am pretty positive we will be eating there so dinner together may work out great, but give me another couple of weeks and we will firm this up.

PAHW - (The Roses) - :rotfl2: by the way. Many previous concierge DIS guests have arranged for their concierge team to help them host parties and it has gone over very well. You will not get our entire crew, probably only a dedicated few as a lot of people end up conflicted with one thing or another.
If you like to socialize - go ahead and explore this as it usually works very well. If you are in a 3, though, I would say, don't go this route. This is only for the 1&2 suites as they are big enough to handle it. There is one other

 (Quinn was next to me and asked for this to be inserted - loves these things  )

Suzie - I need to hop off so I won't have time to head to Yahoo, but I would like to do the initial meet next to the Mickey Pool or on Deck 10.

BrotherlyLoveJen - yeah, talk to Mermaid Patty about the booz (and non-booz) fest. This is the way others have done it in the past (from reading trip reports which are treasures of information sometimes).

I actually don't like the idea of Deck 7 verandah because it could possibly be cold and windy - supposedly that is a very windy area on a normal day.

Catrina's Birthday party was just like any other 1st birthday pary - I did make your own Panini sandwiches and that went over very, very well - plus they were awesome. She didn't do the requisite smashing of the cake - in fact she didn't even like the cake - she fell fast asleep in her high chair while eating lunch too.

She does love her gifts - so that is good and no one got her obnoxious loud, or huge toys - that is GREAT!

Oh, and I was in bed by 9 last night too! I was soo exhausted I couldn't see straight.

Jen - I still need to get back to you too. I haven't forgotten.

OK - off to relish in our lazy morning. They are soooo rare!!!!!

Okay, this is what I woke to this morning! And it's still coming down!!

[Edited - will add pics later - forgot to resize and can't get them to change!!!]

We've already lost electricity twice now and our cable modem (OH NO!!). About 7 inches on the ground and more coming.

CG - glad Catrina's party went well. Tori didn't like cake on her first birthday so we had chocolate pie....still didn't like that....had to smear it on her face for her "official" picture, you know....

Alright, off to dig out snow stuff. We're going sledding later! And we're going to try to build a snowman. Everytime we try to, it never happens. First time, not enough snow; second time, it was too dry....we had a snow blob instead.

Have fun today, all!

It takes a lot to keep up on these boards these days. I was rolling in my seat at THE ROSES aka PAHW :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2: so I am posting a picture in their honor:

This is Coby trying on his new Pirate Costume for the Pirate Party on the Cruise.

Alright Suzie! Who has already been outside at your house doing all the digging out!!! It is still 24 degrees here and as much as I LOVE snow(and morning) I (we) still need a good hour or so to morph back into the human beings we sent to bed last night.

Hannah and I watched the parent trap last night so I didn't get to bed until 10. We had a THUNDERSTORM???? in February.....and the dog when schitzo!!! He tried to hide under our bed-not easy for a dog of his size...then he tried to make a bed out of a clean pile of laundry, then tried to get on our bed(we staged a coup before he could get comfy) before heading off to Hannah's bed to take up all of her space...all the while breathing like an obscene phone caller!!!! :rotfl2: I could hear him all the way down the hall ALL NIGHT so we are starting out kind of slow today!! But we do have what looks like a foot on our deck and cars, but it has been blowing so we really can't tell. HGP in all seriousness wanted to know if the weather channel needed him to go out and do an "official" measurement, but he said he couldn't help out if the snow was deeper than a foot :lmao: :lmao: pirate:

So-we are cozying in today but will proably go out to play when the temp at least reaches 30!

CG-glad the party went well! Make your own Panini! Awesome idea. Do you have more than 1 press? We usually do Panera Bread gourmet sandwich trays for kids partys for the adults and ppj, balogna and cheese type sandwiches cut out with cookie cutters for the kids!

If I don't start cleaning this house soon......I will never get to it so I am going to go!! HAve a great day!

My beautiful Winter Wonderland tree!

Suzie- your neighborhood is beautiful this morning! Ours is pretty but the oldest trees we have are 7 years old so it kind of loses something....I did lay in bed this morning watching it snow with the same wonder I did when I was 5!

Thanks! Our trees are so big - some 60 feet tall! Figure they've been around before the house was built and it's 36 years old! Kind of a pain in the fll and winter, though. We got over 200 bags of leaves again this year! And we ran out so there are still leaves in the backyard!

I always turn into a kid when it snows! Hate to be cold but love to be out in it playing!! Now, if I can only find my waterproof gloves! Hate wet hands!

Ed is a morning bird! He and Tori were up about 7 am this monring (Daddy, I'm hungry! Daddy, wanna watch cartoons?) I just rolled back over and went back to sleep. I tried to go to bed last night at 9 but that didn't happen! I think it was around midnight (Again!) that I finally went out. The snow plows on the main road behind our house kept me up most of the night....kept sounding like they were coming into our bedroom!

I've told you all how infatuated with Peter Pan Tori is. Well, she found our VHS of Hook and is watching with daddy now. She loves anything with him and still is insisting on being Peter Pan for Halloween! Oh, lordy!!

Good morning everyone, went out last night for Valentines (at least that is what I am passing it off as) with the Queen and my 3 princesses, went to Mitchells Fish Market, they have one in Columbus and Cleveland for Mom2, and Oh Julie. I think that is one of my favorite things to do is to have a nice dinner with my family, the Lion King was fantastic and Sarah won her soccer game.

I sure am glad that others recieved the snow, I am tired of it, sorry that you have to shovel, I have decided that I would much rather cut my lawn than shovel from now on. We have a lazy day planned also, only things are Linds soccer practice at 4 and my game at 7, my only goal when I play is to not get hurt. I try not to set my personal goals to high, that way I am never disappointed.

Roses, I like the PAHW, but I think I am pushing it sometimes with just calling her the Queen. I think it is awesome that you work for Disney, my goal is to retire some day (isn't it all of ours, the Queen has achieved this already) and work for Disney. My job preferences change all the time, but the flavor of today would be to work with one of the characters as an attendee so I could see the excitement on the kids faces. I also would love to drive a bus, be the Mayor of Main street, work the DVC booth, be a street performer at the Boardwalk (tough one, I have no talent), work as the greeter at Beach Club of course after Art retires, and lastly drive a parade float. :moped:

CG, glad you had a great 1 bday, just the other day watched a video of Sarahs and she is now 7, sad about how fast it goes. I am all for a meet up on 9 or 10 if it is before the Safety drill, because I know that our kids will want to be in the Kid soup (pools) before we sail. For those that haven't sailed with Disney before, the pools do get very crowded, and sometimes there is not a lot of supervision because there are so many kids.

SteveMed, hope you had a quiet night at work.

QOTD:

If ignorance is bliss, why aren't more people happy?

Tom pirate:

Tom,

My husband has said many times that he would love to be a character or an attendee so that he could make kid's dreams come true over and over again, all day long. He figures that would be the greatest job ever. I've always thought that it was the sweetest thing for him to say, and now you've said it too. The pirates have a soft side after all! Of course I haven't told him anything about the whole "pirate" thing, I'd never hear the end of it. Maybe a few weeks before the cruise I'll let him in on it so that he knows what you are all talking about. pirate: No sense giving him amunition this far out! :rotfl2:

Today we are ripping out some broken beams in our floor and replacing them so that we can jack up the floor where it has sagged. The moving wasn't too good for some parts of this old house. The old chimney was there and was too heavy for the beams. It will be nice to have a bedroom door that closes! If we have enough time, we are going to start working on the heat for upstairs. Canada in February, and we don't have heat upstairs! Good thing this is the warmest winter on record. Two construction heaters just aren't very cozy, but they work. On the land we bought is the local "Ashville tobaggon hill". Our house overlooks the valley and we have kids in our backyard all the time on the hill. I guess we'll have to rename it as the Novak tobaggan hill now! We got quite a dump of snow the last few days too, so the hill is great right now.

:earsgirl: :earsboy: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :bounce:

CG - So glad the 1st Birthday went well. I would to see some pictures!

Barb- Sounds like you have quite a challange there! But it also sounds like a beautiful place and a great family home!

Tom - I love the Columbus Fish Market! It is owned by Cameron Mitchell who also has several other restaurants in Columbus. All of them are great! I have been to the restaurants in Columbus a lot since I used to travel there for work, but I have not been to Mitchell's in Cleveland yet!

Susie - the pictures are beautiful. The one nice thing is that the storm happened on the weekend when you don't have to go anywhere!

We have not had much snow here and I think that we are only supposed to get an inch or two tonight. No "snow days" for my kids!

OHJulie :wave2:

MOM2- Coby looks great!! Jared and Meg, and my niece and nephew will all be dressed up too for pirate night. pirate:

Sledding was fun. Lots of kids there!
DSCN3164.jpg

And a dog!
DSCN3159.jpg

Tori loved getting on the sled, kinda like a wagon ride to the hill!
DSCN3158.jpg

Had a blast going down the hill. Tori even went by herself a few times! (didn't get that picture!)
DSCN3160.jpg

I tell you, walking that hill in snow was a bugger! I had to take a shower when we got home! YUCK!!

So, fixed hot cocoa with mini marshmallows, chicken noodle soup and grilled cheese sandwiches when we got back! Is that a return to childhood or what?!?!?!

Okay, I'm done with the pictures today. That was fun though!

I think that I have PM'd everyone on list that has kids anywhere close to the age of mine. They have been asking if they can "meet" someone before the cruise, just like I have. In case I've missed anyone, I have two daughters 14 & 12 (turning 13 on the cruise) and my son will be 11 in April.

tee-hee! Ed wants to know where his invite is - I always tell him he might be 42 but he acts like a 12 year old! :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:
