Hi Gang! I just finished telling Suzie that my site hasn't been updated with new pictures in over a year. I am revamping it now. I have a due date of 2/28 for launch.....can she do it??? I was a one woman copywriter, photographer and web layout girl today but I think I got the main page layout, copy and photos done!

Speaking of Harry Potter, I had been telling Kirk for years how good the books are but he just shrugged me off. He had seen all the movies and started to read the books to the kids. Well, reading to them got him in to the books and now he is totally engrossed and on book 3. Any time I don't know where he is, I find him reading the book. They really are hard to put down.

Kirk and the kids are on their way out to a Basketball game at the college where Kirk works. I am going to go sit and read and enjoy the peace.

I've just finalized flights and a room for the night before - we're doing the Residence Inn by Marriot this time - Radisson at the port was all out of standard rooms, we got a suite at the Marriot for $70. less than the cheapest room at Radisson. We are renting a car to drive from MCO (gotta make a beer run before boarding the ship) so the free shuttle was not an issue anyway.

This is our first 7-day so we are so excited! We decided to do the Golden Eagle in St. Maartin - our kids only wanted a 1/2 day excursion since it is Pirate Night, and even at their ages (last cruise 9 & 12) they were too tired to stay awake after 6 hours on CC. Maybe DH and I will shop or do a quick beach in the p.m. On St. Thomas I did book the 5-Star St. John but not sure if I am keeping it or just going to wing a taxi to the beach. I've heard mixed reviews on the Leylon Sneed.

I see you both have been to the northern OBX. I have been going there every year with family and friends for the last 14 years. We stayed in Corolla (Pine Island and Buck Island) for the first many years and then started staying in Duck (Four Seasons) the last 4 years. We love it there! We especially like the northern part because it isn't as commercialized as other beaches. It is such a nice place for families. Here is a picture from the 4WD only beach area from this past summer that I am sure you are familiar with:

I see you both have been to the northern OBX

I used to go in high school with my aunt's family to "babysit" for her stepkids. They were only a few years younger than me. I think it was a pity play to get me out for a week in the summer - parents were divorcing (ugly) and we lived with my grandparents. Not much opportunity for vacations - Mom didn't make much working.

We actually stayed in Kill Devil Hills now that I think about it. Milemarker 7 right behind the Fudge shop. One block off the beach and I was stinking skinny back then! Wasn't afraid of a bikini! What fun we had!!!

Mketting-I am not allowed to read HP books anymore. My husband used to hate when the books came in the mail....I would disappear for a day(that's is usually all it took me to read...uninterrupted of course!) My hubby is the same- the movies are fine for him. The last movie we saw was #3 and I was kind of narrating about a second before the action happened, and he was soooo mad.... I'd be like...."watch out for the dog Harry..." He wanted to smother me!!!

Diet not going to well for me. I think cause I drank so much this weekend that I was just eating to prevent myself from feeling sick and havn't jumped back on the wagon yet! We had PAtty Melts tonight! Yum.. Pat and I were trying to figure out if that is a central new york thing? We never see them here! Congrats Mketting though on your loss- that is awesome!

Lots of people traveled to NC-we love Nags Head, but the last time we went, we toured Corolla and Duck and loved it.. Just haven't been back. It is so much easier when your kids aren't in school. We used to go in September. It is beautiful that time of year-warm but not as crowded. Then Hannah started school and I won't take her out of school the first few months of the year. But we got used to the low rates after labor day and what a shock it was when I went to book my trip in like say July! OUCH! We are going to Wild Dunes this June(compliments of the rents) which is always fun. Very similar to NC, with a little more of a resort atmosphere.

I have been really disappointed with American Idol this season. I feel like I had definately faves this time last year(Constantine and Bo). IT seem slike most people are really BAD this year with the exception of a few good ones. I hope it gets better in Hollywood!

Kate fell asleep in the chair and is taking up all Hannah's room.... gotta go!
