Its good to see yet another veteran!!!!

I am a cruise veteran, but not a Disney cruise veteran.

Its good to hear that you got Palo even though you are not CC members. I am nervous about this.

I still have not figured out how to put a picture on this board . I have them posted on other cruise forums but I seem to be handicap when it comes to this forum !!!

When you hit reply there is an icon that looks like a mountain with a yellow back ground. Click on this icon and enter the URL for your pic. Click enter and it will add your pic! Good luck and may I say that this is the EASIEST website to add pics - at least it is for me! Others can be nightmares!

To the Verandah Party Martini Drinkin' Beer Guzzlin' Pirate Brigade!!!!! (not an official name but just pretty acurately describes the founders of this thread)

PhillyJen completely missed my post and my visit to her neck of the woods.

It was a great time - usually I hate travelling for work but this time it was great - it was good to have time for me. I got to see Star wars, Batman Begins ad eat at restaurants without kids, sleep late, it was great!

thanks for adding me to the list.

Does anyone have late seating? Just wondering.

ohsodisney - thanks! I love my girls. The big one slept all day sunday after we picked her up. I didn't think I was going to get her up monday morning to go back for the day. Today I'm at home working and she's slept all day. That 10 nights of boarding has made her a very very calm and sleepy doggie. I called today and put her down for boarding for this cruise!!!!

HI ALL!

3 of us from Pittsburgh going. My DH and DD(age5). We were on the Wonder in April 05.. wanted to try a 7 day.
Sounds like almost everyone knows eachother on this cruise!!!!

Room for 3 more?

_Sue

Hey all just checkin in,

Welcome aboard Wendy and Sue we always have room for more, I don't know if you read all 580 something posts and 40 pages, but only some of us know each other personally the rest of us just know each other from these boards.

I am on the road tonight so it is much easier to check in and reply, but it still is no fun to be on the road. The inside of one hotel room looks just like the inside of every other one.

By the Way, are any of you ladies married? Because besides myself and Bow Tie (where is that dude), there are a lot of :groom: us dudes. Any other Pirates out there?

Tom pirate:

Hi everyone

Just checking in for the day .

Tom , sometimes I'm married to this guy named Barry , I told hime to get on here and met the guys , he said he will but he is so busy all the time .Plus football takes presidence over all right now . Mabye after the season we will get married again :)

You may all think I'm a bit nuts { which I am } but I just finished packing for our cruise in 9 weeks . I figured we won't need any more summer clothes so I packed away . I guess I should probally bring along an iron since I'm sure the clothes will be big balls of wrinkles .

Daisy , we chose the late seating so we don't have to rush around trying to see the islands and trying to get ready for the early seating . we have aways done the late seating and love it ! You sound like me I always booked my Simmi for boarding long before we went away .

Well I think I'm off for a siesta , I have a touch of the flu bug , [ oh, thanks everyone at work ] I'm working tonight but once again I have 5 days off . I have only been working 2 days a week and I'm loving it !

ohsodisney - I totally feel your pain with football. When the University of Georgia starts playing on Labor day every year everything else stops. Our first day on the cruise last week was spent in Diversions watching the UGA game. I did leave him for a while to go to the stores and other places.

Hi Daisy

We are staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge for our first time 4 days before the cruise . Did you love it ? It looked so beautiful . We are staying in the Deluxe Savannah View room because have are bringing along our friend Brian so that makes 5 . Can you tell me anything else about the Lodge ?

Which room did you book on the ship ? I will have to look and see exactly which room we are in and I'll let you know but I know it is deck 2 . At least we will have that 4 foot porthole window which looked so cute , I saw pictures of someones kids sitting in it , i guess you can seat there like you would a bench seat .

Sue718!

Nope, not all of us are part of the returning cruisers from last year. I am a newbie.

I have early (main) seating and I sooo need it. My DH and I have done late seating on previous cruises and it doesn't work for us - and this was prior to having kids. I tend to be comotosed after dinner when we finish at 10:30 and its lights out after that - I like to be able to have fun after dinner, go out or just be awake period and not be desperate to get into bed (and not for the fun reason :guilty: ).

Tom pirate:

the following is said with as much smarmy pirate drawl as possible: Arrrrgggghhhhh, Gotta tell ya man, my DH thinks we're all a little whacked. He won't be checking in with us, me hearties. I expect you, Tom, to properly indoctrinate him into the fact that you all are cool and once he realizes you have an inside scoop to getting beers delivered to you wherever you are - he will fully realize the depth and breadth of this oh so cooolness. Arrrggghhh, but when he sees the martini pirate flag on the verandahs its all over but the drinkin.

In all seriousness, my husband humors me with my DIS obsession and fully realizes its helpfullness in our travels. But he is equally obsessed with his fantasy baseball and football leagues and any free time he has is spent chit chatting there. He was just made CEO of his organization and I think even his fanatasy leagues have suffered since this change in status. Not to say that you don't have equally important work to do, just that he doesn't puruse the web during the day like I do.

ohsodisney - You'll love AKL!!! It's a great resort. We had a pool view room but it was still awesome. The pool was so wonderful. My nephew loved that the most when we stayed there. Also make sure you go to the outlook that's outside the lobby. It's really nice.

Thank you for the kind welcome!!!!

I am on the waiting list for early dining. I can't imagine eating at 8:30 at night!! My 5 year old will NEVER make it. BUT we did just book, so what can I expect?!?
I want to get aboard and BEG Guest Services for early dining.
I did hear they are testing staggered dining... 5:45-6-6:15 and 8-8:15-8:30. I might be able to deal with 8... but I am NOT a late eater...

I wonder if I even have a chance at getting early? :confused3

Good Morning everyone

Well I did it I booked yet another cruise on RCCL Explorer of the Seas for October 2006 to Bermuda , it is only a 5 day cruise but it was so reasonable I couldn't pass it up , plus we have never been there . I am on a conquest now to get our freinds and family to book with us . My daughters have 13 cousins on my DH side and we really want them to go with us , plus they have never been on a cruise .

Hope you are all having a wonderful morning . Mckenna is informing me now she is hungry and would like cinnamin toast so I must go wait on the princess , since the maids are not here today , LOL I wish !

Sue - don't panic. A lot of people say that they have a lot of luck getting moved to main dining when they board.

Thanks for the word of encouragement on the early dining.

I have surfed the DIS boards, and I know it's too early to plan (can not help myslef). I want to go to Palo this time, but I DO NOT want to miss the Gala dinner!

Anyone know what the dining rotation would be? Or is it way too soon to talk about it?

Also-- We want to get to the beach in St Thomas, BUT we really don't want to pay the price of an excursion. Anyone know if the taxis are safe???

--Sue

Got Tori's passport in the mail today! That's one less thing I have to worry about - including if they change the date again! We all have ours now so it doesn't matter to us anymore! Whew!

I'm still debating whether or not to get passports! We have adopted children and wonder if we will have a hassle getting them off the islands because they look more like the natives, than they do us! :rotfl: :rotfl: I know it sounds funny, but we are actually thinking seriously about this, I'll put it out there and ask what do you guys think? Paranoid parents or over planners?

My advice would be to get them. It makes life an awfully lot easier. I still have to fill our our forms and get them in. ON our last cruise I had my passport and my husband had his birth certificate. He was held up in debarkation (a totally different cruise line that has a miserable debarkation process) due to his seal being slightly worn and not raised enough for their liking.

As for a beach in St. Thomas - we are planning on going over by taxi (and yes, they are safe - a bit crazy but safe) to Coki Beach to be near Coral World too. As we get closer, we can plan on doing this together to have safety in numbers. I am still trying to figure out a way to get over to St. John but with my wee ones I am pretty sure I will be settling for Coki. So, therefore, I am pretty sure we will be available to tag along with to Coki. I am also mulling over a day rate a resort.

Meagans (I always spell this wrong) Bay is very nice and is a pretty short taxi ride away too. We did this on our last trip. I was not as impressed as all the hooplah about the beach makes you feel you should be. Plus our taxi broke down on the way there in the steepest part of the road - :scared: and I was very pregnant making the whole trip a bit tainted for me.

Have you noticed that its not too early to plan in my mind. I am full boat planning and have been since, oh, lets say 18 months out.

Dining Rotation: you won't know yours until you get your paperwork. We are planning on doing Palo on St. Maarten night if we are able to get reservations.

I am up for traveling in numbers! We wanted to get to St John also, but... I know we are taking a St Maartin excursion, and call me "cheap", but I didn't want to pay $100.00+ for an excursion in St Thomas (US Virgin Island) to the beach! St Maartin is a bit different, in my mind..., to pay for the security of an excursion. My DD(5) probably won't snorkel, so the money there will be wasted.
As you suggested, when we get closer, we can coordinate. :thewave:
