CG I may not have been in the REAL W. Mass, but they certainly do have the best mall! Actually, I grew up there in the Pioneer Valley. Been there? Went to the Holyoke Mall - I love it! I do shopping marathons there.

Suzie
Nope, wrong about the Med kids. They were neighborhood kids.

Jonna Just heard about A. Hope she's doing better. Take it easy, we'll all be relaxing soon.

Sue and Jon, I shipped out wine today too. They said it takes a week and when I talked to the shipyards today they said it had to get there 2 or 3 days before sailing. I hope it makes it.
Well, if none of the wine shows, we'll all huddle around Tom and Len's Captn Morgan!

The Roses

snoopytoo, Did I beat you :) , awake and it is 5:30. Unfortunatley I'm an early riser and a late night owl, not alot of sleep for me. The girls are always up early, I'm suprisd not to see them yet. It has also been so nice here that I like to get up shower and start moving. Once again it is the Parkway Way for us with my parents and friends today.

See you all later. Have a wonderful day!

OHSO- Yep, you beat me today. But that is okay. I am just happy that we are down to 7 days till I can zip down the turnpike and put my cares behind me. Wth my best girl by my side, we'll sing, we'll sing.... Oh I am Lumberjack and I'm okay..... Ooops sorry had a Monty Python moment.

So the question begs what do early risers like to do when they get up onboard the ship? My normal routine at Disney is OJ and go get the paper. However, they won't have paper on the ship. SO I invision maybe OJ and watching the waves. DO we wanna claim an area, as sort, of ours for morning hangouts?

Well I better get going. I got some small work related errands before I head the office. Have a Magical Day everyone!!!!

OMG , I almost forgot .

Welcome Tatonka !

I have no idea what to call Tatonka. It is reminding me of the song Honky tonk ba donkey donk :) Ooo, spell check didn't like that one. O.k keeping my mind in the gutter early this morning , it also makes me think tata's LOL :rotfl: :rotfl2:

O.k going to go get a grip on myself and start getting ready for the day.

Pat, I hope you and CG have better luck with the eyebrows then me.

Roses, Oh no, not again, tell John to get better soon!

Snoopytoo, I LOVE just sitting there watching the waves.I may also walk some laps around the deck, or even the gym. I may get a coffee and join you somewhere. Is Sommer and early riser too? I'm hearing the secret area at the back of the ship may make a good morning place to meet.

8 days !!! Gotta love it!!

Trish - I was looking at Suzie's file on cabin locations and realized that my sister and her family will only be a few cabins down from you. Her name is Robin and she has two daughters - 13 and 5.

I am usually an early riser - but I have no idea what my schedule will be like on the cruise. I usually don't eat much after 7:00 pm and we have late dining, so I am assuming that I will be staying up later and then (hopefully) sleeping in. I would love to plan some morning deck walks, but I don't know if I will be up or not.

Perhaps we could set a time and place to meet in the morning and if you are up and want to meet great - if not that's fine too. Whoever is there at that time can stroll together.

Snoopy - Lucky you going on the ECO tour - I've read some great reviews on it. Have fun!!

OHJulie :wave2:

TATONKA!![/
our flying buddies! great to see you aboard!!

Ok I'll answers all of the QOTD's:

Packing.?..... = Me only Me!! See people call us, "The broccoli eating, granola munching, sandal wearing, Dark beer drinking, folk loving family". :hippie: And as comfortable as I am in that earthy role, I do know that, that attire will be frowned apon on the cruise. My husband however does not, and well, I couldn't live with the get-ups he might put together! ( Just kidding he would do just fine, but why chance it!!! :teeth: )

Favorite American Beer? = Sierra Nevada Porter, or Otter Creek porter (see above) :hippie:

Tatonka? = "isn't that what vacations are for?"

Boy, rereading this post...... You all got a whole lot of info on us didn't ya?

Hope it wasn't TMI

WOW!!! You went on a date to....WALMART! You are THE MAN! Didn't want to take her out for DINNER? NO KIDS, a meal that you don't have to deal with them and you didn't do it!?! Are you NUTS?! That would have been like a years worth of "Get off the sofa" free cards! Dude, you stun me......

Okay, Wallyworld isn't too bad. Assuming that you were there to buy last minute things for the cruise.

Hey, just got it! Your kids were gone...to the Eggmans, by any chance?! Hmmm....I'll never tell!

For truth now, good night all!

(Steve, you know I'm only kidding you! )

BTW, this time next week, I will be like a kid at Christmas, waiting to open the presents. In our case, waiting to go to the airport!! WOOOHOOOOO!!!!!!!!

Suzie--Steve does spoil me---with Disney Vacations!!

We went to Wallyworld for the last minute things for the cruise..underwear (speedos), socks, shoe rack, etc. Whooof, the excitement was unbearable. But then, I woke up about 4am this morning thinking of a ton of things that I didn't think to get. (Guess I can't concentrate around the  man). So I was at Walmart at 7am this morning. Yup--first one there!
Didn't want to do dinner last night and spoil the diets--we are in the single digit countdown, you know! Besides, we save cheating for the weekends.

Mrs. Eggman--how about playing a little game of Where in the world is Matt Lauer, only our version could be...Where on the cruise are the Flynn's?

I have to say--it's a good thing I just started posting a few weeks ago. I can't seem to get any work done. :yay: :bounce: Gotta go-check in later...
Shan

Desperate - I know what your saying about not getting anything done. I am sooo distracted. Yesterday I was trying to complete some spreadsheets for work and I would work on each for about an hour and then realize that I had totally messed it up. Must get them done today!

Question - Do you all think that we need to bring rainwear? I can't decide whether to put the raincoats in or not. I'm hoping that those of you who have been in the Carribean this time of year can lend an opinion.

Thanks,

OHJulie

Boy, you are all so good at this -and fast! I hope I can catch up. You all sound like a fun bunch. I only have a few minutes to do this, since I'm at work but I'll do my best.

Jonna, sorry to hear about your ordeal last week. Hope Asia is doing ok and that you're getting better emotionally. You need a vacation!

It is Mrs. and I am Steve's aunt - hence the longest active member of his fan club and the reason I know so much about him - but I can't give too much away. But due to familiarity, when the bananna hammock makes its appearance, I am so outta there!

RIeggman - I did have to get a dispensation from the Pope to use the name Tatonka - Steve gave his blessing, too.

I LOVE the countdowns, with all the pictures/symbols for each day - very creative! We're heading down on Friday morning so we have 7 days left - so excited!.

Packing - the hub does his own and always ends up with more than me - perhaps it's only because his clothes are bigger (?) - although he is getting smaller by the minute. Beer - I like Michelob, he drinks just about anything. I do have to admit I am looking forward to the foo foo drinks!

Gotta get to work - I am the Director of HR - talk to you soon!

Hi Ohjulie, I have never packed rain gear , in fact the many times we have been to the Caribbean we only had 1 quick afternoon shower, it never lasts long this time of year.

I am hoping that there is still a group to walk with some days in the morning. I really think I need to do more walking this cruise then last. I gain at least 7-9 pounds last time. . there truly is nothing like seeing the gorgeous views pulling into port.

Well off again to the Parkway , hey this SAHM role is pretty darn good :thumbsup2

A fellow monty python fan :cool1:  My dad is over 6 feet tall, "Big John" he's always been called. In his late teens he headed out to the wilds of B.C. to be a lumberjack for a few years. One of my brother-in-laws sings that song to him. You have to just see my dad to get the mental picture here. :rotfl2:

Suzie, thanks for the message. The airport is around 300 miles from here, so we have to drive in tonight and stay at Len's sisters house. It's not that far of a drive, but the weather is so unpredictable around here that I don't want to chance driving it the same day as the flight. Yorkton got a foot of snow just the other day. Gotta love Manitoba in the spring time. We were the hotspot of Canada yesterday. Now that is unpredictable weather. We also have to be at the airport at 5:00 am tomorrow morning, so we're going today instead. I think I'm going to pick up the kids around 2:30 from school, and we'll pick Len up at work on our way.

And no, I still haven't finished packing! :rolleyes1 I'm telling myself that I have to load the van at noon, so it must all be done by then. I had to borrow a suitcase and the thing almost puts us over the weight limit empty. We really have to buy some new suitcases. Too late now I guess huh? If I knew how to post a picture, I'd put one on here of our town. You'd see that there is no chance of me buying one here. Our town has maybe 10 houses that straddle the highway. No street numbers or anything. Makes getting courier deliveries a nightmare sometimes. There is a little "corner store", but it is closing down this summer.

Geez you guys are early birds this morning! I tried to get some stuff done before I checked the boards and whoa! Look out!

Tori woke with a fever and runny nose. Kind of knew this would happen since Ed mowed the lawn last night. This is one of two reasons I'm not allowed to do it anymore. 1) the grass clippings give me a headache/migraine 2) my allergies kick in incredibly and I get a fever/runny nose the next day. Gotta love allergies! Can't wait to get on that ship! Once we pass Key West all allergies are gone! WOOHOO!! Really funny but true! And we could tell on the return trip when we hit the US! Allergies back with a bang! Yuck.....

Anyway, we will be doing the laundry today to try to keep up. I'm also going to tack Tori's Tinkerbell costume up so that it fits her a bit better. Poor thing is still a bit small for it! Don't need to show anything that doesn't need to show!

Aunt Tatonka, you sound like a family member of Steve's! You guys must have so much fun at family times! What a hoot you guys are! Can't wait to meet you guys! Hey, how many family members are coming on this trip besides you and your DH? WOW! Just wondering if we will see the  man's prodigy!

Finishing breakfast for the little princess. She wanted waffles today. Sweet child can have anything she wants today, doesn't feel good. poor baby....

Shannon, Oh, yes, the Disney vacas! I've heard and read about those! Any man that spoils a wife with Disney is okay in my books! Fun to meet others that enjoy it as much as we do!

ITM - sounds like you and the Roses will hit it off, being fellow "granolas" and such! Please let hubby bring ONE outfit so that we can see! Please!!!(said in my best pleading whiny voice!)

Alright, sitting here :surf: will not get anything done.....seems none of us can stay away!!!

I love my east coast buddies! Dark beer, personal visits with the Pope, crunchy granola eaters, cheating on weekends (hmmmm :scratchin we cruise over a weekend - will this give the term Wife Swapping a whole new meaning? :worried: :lmao: ).

Goodmorning. I forgot to tell you guys that I lost another pound this week - so I went over my 10 pound mark. They were shocked given it was after Easter. I was too. I also had to wear my shoes for the weigh in since I forgot to wear socks - I HATE socks!

It totally rains in the Caribbean during this time of year. You will be sailing and it looks all nice and sunny andthen suddenly you are being drenched on deck - you pass through some weird shower clouds out at sea. I have never had rain in port, but we did get quite a few showers while at sea. We are packing rain jackets for each member. We also have sweat suits for everyone. Remember that if you want to go watch movies on deck at night that it gets cold and windy up there especially if we are hauling *** to make up time or get to port.

OHJulie, wanna talk about distraction, I have huge projects I was supposed to complete this week while it was quiet, well, here it is Friday and well, they both have been cracked just a little, but definately no progress. I vowed to just start and work like mad this morning and not post - well, guess that vow didn't live long.

OhSo, did I mention waxing? I don't remember mentioning it, but I did wax the brows yesterday. I go to a foo foo salon in Boston to do it. It's the one thing I go foo foo for so I don't get weird lopsidedness. It's one of the cheapest things you can get done at a salon and this way I get to go to a very schwank salon and drink in the atmosphere and pay very little for it.

#6 Where in the world are the Flynn's

Okay, let's add that to the vote too.

Anybody out there gonna vote. It's already 9:29am and there aren't any votes up for alternate Tatonka names (just in case Steve changes his mind).

Boy you guys are slow.

I'm on spring break this week. Don't know what I'm gonna do next week when all of you are gradually flying out and I'm still responsible for the education of 22 10 year olds. I'm not flying out until Friday night! I'll be in a Disney Cruise Line Stupor all day on Friday I'm sure.

QOTD: I pack...DH will probably start packing himself if I get behind, but I always check everything because I'm in charge here. (PS I would never assume to touch the Weber grill - he's in charge there) Unfortunately, I'm the one who usually leaves behind important toiletries like a toothbrush or my round hairbrush. Round hairbrush, you say? Trust me, I NEVER leave home without it! You'll thank me for this!

Beer? YUK! I'm a merlot girl - it's good for my heart you know. :thumbsup2 Give me margeritas, cosmos, sea breezes, pina coladas, white russians, rum cream, mai tai's, fruity and tropical! Now we're talking

Eggman (Rick) likes Sam Adams, gin and tonic

We'll guess I'll go feed the kids. Have a great day everyone!

Does anybody know if it is possible to download the entire thread without going page by page and copy & paste? I forgot to get a book for the trip down, and I thought instead I would reread this entire thread from the beginning. I started cutting & pasting using the printable version of the thread, but I've only gotten to page 40. There just isn't enough hours before I leave to finish it. I'm hoping someone will know a shortcut.

CG- Congrats on your loss. I am stuck, but decidedly happy since my lands end bathingsuit looks so cute and covers everything!! You will glow in your cruise pictures I am sure.... Funny about your shoes-I have been known to ask WW if I could wear my bathingsuit for weigh ins($hit I'd wear my birthday suit if they'd let me.)....but at least mine has paper towels to put under your feet if they are bare! I have actually asked them to weigh my little section of paper towel(the little laughing guy isn't working, but insert here) :)

You guys all crack me up- we will be packing on Thursday and no earlier. One of our guest rooms is dedicated to the Cruise gear, so there are lots of piles but the official packing doesn't take place until we are ready to go! HGP packs himself, he is pretty good at it. But sometimes, he is feeling casual and we get the weeks worth of double layered crappy t-shirts with foul sayings on them. Other trips, he has decided that he is going to be the personal poster child for J. Crew! So whichever HGP comes on the cruise- we will not find out until we all get there!

I on the other hand, and I am sure you ladies are all in the same boat. No matter how helpful your hubbys are(mine is awesome)-I am the sole packer in charge of the children! He doesn't understand why it takes me so much longer to pack...hmmmmmmm lets see-Maybe because I am packing for 3 GIrLS no less. Our trial run to FL last week helped. I am really scaling back this time for all of us.

If I honestly think about what we will be wearing most days- it will be bathingsuits and coverups. Breakfast in Lumiere's every sea day can just wear a pair of capris and shirt that can be recycled and then dinners. We do plan on eating in Lumiere's in the am, we love the relaxed setting and the bloody mary's with extra spice! Eggs Benedict is NOT to be missed. Besides- has anyone tried to do a buffet with little ones.....NOT FUN!!

QOTD- American Beer? I am not a beer lover, but I do love a good Belgian Ale now and then. HGP is a Belgian beer lover, unfortunately, the habit is extremely expensive($100. per case) of Chimay White. However, we have found a few great American made Belgian Style beers that are much more reasonable. Ommegang Brewery in Cooperstown, NY makes and excellent Belgian style beer. We've toured the brewery a few times. For anyone who is interested in Belgian beer(I can bet we have a few Pacific Northwesters who are) they were purchased by Duvel a couple of years ago. Pat had a Quadrupel last night that was Ale with Cherry Lambic with was awesome. Quadrupel means it has 4 times the alcohol of a regualr beer! We usually stick to doubles or triples but they ALL contribute to weight gain! The other brewery in the US that we like is in Maine-Allagash. They have a few really good belgian style beers. Allright enough out of me. Of couse we love Yuengling Lager from PA! There is always a time and a place for a nice cold Bud Light even though we are beer snobs. Mike(mermaid Patty's hubby) works for Budwiser and they have truly an amazing selection of microbrewed type beers that aren't marketed everywhere yet to satisfy even the most discriminating beer palate. Really amazing! Ok, that was REALLY LONG and I apologize.

I bought my pirate costume last night.....A silver necklace with a huge pirate charm with pink crystals!!! That's it....and maybe an eye patch or 3 to cover the rest of me....

Just wanted to make sure I still had your attention! HA HA

OK< JENNIFER STEP AWAY FROM THE COMPUTER AND GET YOUR WORK DONE!!!!

Have a great day all!
PJ

Sue EGG- The round hairbrush... :lmao: I am completely lost without it!!! And not just any round hairbrush will do either will it??? Nope, and that loss WILL ruin the week :rotfl:

And girls, a few glasses of wine and anyone would assume they can use the Weber grill. Just look what wine does for those who REALLY can't dance... :cool1:
