Cast - myself, DH, DS age 13 and DS age 10

DH, DS 10, and I are awake to see the sunrise - what a beautiful sight! DS 13 is still asleep because he stayed in The Stack until midnight. The three of us take a walk around Deck 9 for awhile, and return to our room to wake up the sleepyhead.

Plan A is to take the kids to Topsiders for breakfast, while DH and I eat just enough to tide us over until our 10:30 Brunch at Palo. The ship is still rockin'
and rollin', and all of a sudden when we sit down at Topsiders I don't feel so good. Apparently I am fine with the rocking with a full stomach and a few drinks, but not so fine with only coffee. I am really bummed out at this point for obvious reasons. We go back to our stateroom, and I am hoping that sitting on the verandah with a dose of Bonine will straighten me out enough to get through our Palo Brunch. No such luck. I take one look at the buffet at Palo and I have to get out of there - quickly!

Our server, Aleksandar, was a doll and told DH they would be able to get us in another day when I'm feeling better. I feel bad for DH, whose has a plateful of food he can't wait to eat but won't be eating. Many of our new DIS friends were at the same brunch and I was disappointed not to be able to share it with them.

Plan B, the seasickness plan, is to sit outside by the pool and hope for the rocking to stop. DH wanted to do the Martini tasting, but... oh well, that would have been OK if we were still in Plan A. Finally, after a few Cokes and two rolls, the rocking eased up and I felt ready to have a good time again. At least I won't miss Formal Night!

The boys were still busy with their groups, so DH and I decide to try out Bingo (which was a little easier on the stomach than Martini Tasting would have been). Mike "Oh yeah, baby!" was the bingo caller. He was a riot! We didn't win anything but then again we never do. We did learn that the Captain had changed the ship's course for some calmer waters.

We manage to get everyone all dressed up and go down to the Captain's Reception and get our pictures taken with Helmsman Mickey. Dinner was in Animator's Palate. Somehow the show seemed shorter than last year on the Wonder. Partway through dinner the ship started doing some more rocking but we all survived. DH and I ordered the Veal Chop which was not that great. The kids went with the pasta marinara which they really liked after they scraped all the vegetables off.

After dinner, DS 13 went back to The Stack, and the rest of us saw Golden Mickeys. I absolutely love that show and so does DS 10. We then see just the tail end of Freddie Fusion. Afterwards, DS decides to go to the Lab, so DH and I are free for another couples night! We start in Diversions - DH gets in a big involved sports conversation, and by the time we get to Rockin'D Bar to see the adult Freddie Fusion, we see the EXACT TAIL END of the show we saw earlier! I thought it started at 10:30 but it was at 10:15. Afterwards we do some dancing before returning to meet the kids at the stateroom and call it a night.

Lisa - I feel your pain. My DH was SICK, SICK, SICK for the first day. I usually do not get seasick - but this was just too much. I was OK until they sat my entree down in front of me at dinner, I had to get out of there fast. This was the only problem with the late seating - by that time on Saturday the ship was REALLY rocking. You should have seen the parade of people leaving early with a green face. I think that the CM's pretty much cleaned every bit of carpet that night.

Loving your trip report! Thanks

Yup.

Ed and I liked the veal a lot, but our piece was very tender, so much so that I thought it would be a good idea to try and cut it with my daughter in my arms in my formal dress. It ended up all over me and her.

I had a headache again that night from the seas.

AWESOME REPORT :thumbsup2

I am very sorry you got sick! That is one of my concerns about our cruise. Did the medicine seem to help at all?

My trip reports get much cheerier after this day! I did take Bonine as a precaution for the rest of the trip. I've heard the seasickness meds are better at preventing seasickness rather than curing it. This was the first time in three cruises I've ever had to use it.

OHJulie, I didn't realize your husband felt sick too! It's a good thing we all felt better for the Tequila Tasting the following day!

CG, I'm glad your veal was better than mine - mine was not tender at all, but then again I didn't have much of an appetite yet.
