4/25/09 Magic - First Visit To Tortola!

We will be decorating our door. I have been working on designs for awhile. Once I think we have enough I see another design that I have to use!

We will again this time but will take a picture each day incase it changes.

So, don't forget to take a picture of your own door so you have it to post.

Bingo is fun, I think about $25 per card (3 "cards" per slip) but you cannot tear to share.

Hi -- I'm back but it looks like things have been a little slow. I've had some medical issues and then I had gum surgery a few days ago so I haven't felt like being on the computer. I need this cruise like you all say -- NOW .

Thanks to Rebecca who steered me onto some info on wristbands. I hope we can decide for sure if we are meeting in the Promenade Lounge before we set sail so I can give them out and I still need someone to help with that. It looks like I can get them for a dollar each if I have more than 20 people so if you can give me that dollar when you pick it up that would be great. Also -- I need a vote on colors -- blue and green have been mentioned. Red could be another option as well.
I'm going to set a date - and that is that I need to have a count on who wants them and a vote for the colors. Also need to be sure we have made a plan to meet quickly before we set sail -- I think someone mentioned 3:30.
So -- let's say to let me know by March 20th. I'll keep reminding as we get closer.

It's so cold in PA - - hard to imagine the balmy island breezes but I know they are waiting for us.

I saw that some questions were asked for fun -- so let's see..........I love Tigger and Tinkerbell. My husband likes Grumpy. I can't pick a favorite park - I love them all. I do love the magic of the Magic Kingdom but I can't figure out a favorite one. I love the waterparks also. I love Soarin and Splash Mountain and Tower of Terror and the Safari -- but again it's hard to pick.
I love Bingo also. I only played it once on my last cruise - I'd like to do more this time. I did the Tequila tasting the last time -- oh my - very potent - our table got very loud very quickly.

We are doing early dinner. My tummy didn't like eating up til 10:00 on the late seating last time - it seems we got done soo late. The early seems too early so it's a toss up. It was funny tho -- we realized the first night that we were seated with a group from these dicussion boards and had not planned it that way - so we all knew each other - it was funny.

My husband and I are definitely up for meeting in the Promenade Lounge before we set sail! I'm not picky about the wristband color so whatever is fine for me!

Hello everyone,

To meet at 3:30 p.m. at Promenade Lounge before we set sail will work for us. We don't know what we're doing so pretty much anything will work for us. Please include us for wristbands and we'll go with whatever color that is chosen. Thank you Sandy for taking care of this.

I also want to be included on the list for FE. I've been getting ideas on the board and I think it sounds really fun, especially for DD.

Count my DH and myself in for the wristbands. I love the idea! If I had to choose a color for them I would pick Blue, but that is just me. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone. Anyone know when we are going to get the final FE list?

I think it's a good idea if we cutoff the FE list soon. There are several gifts that I want each family to have one and it's hard to know how many to get since we're still taking new FE families.

3 wristbands for us

I looked up to see when we can get to the port, and its says earliest is 9:30 and we plan on being there that early.

The muster drill is at 4:00, so the meet in the promenade at 3:30 should be good for everyone to say hello (if not already done in the port lobby ) and for a group picture.

The ship leaves port at 5, so need to get a good place to sit to enjoy the show.

Additonal info I found: Parrot Cay, one of the inside restaurants is open until 2:30 for lunch. This is a nice place because you can find a table and put your stuff down AND then go and get food at the buffet and go sit down.

Topsiders , also a buffet place, but it was hard to find a table and then go and get your food. Thanks to dadlvsdisney who saved a place for us on our first cruise! It was a little breezy outside and you had to watch that your drink did not get blown over

Looking forward to meeting people and talking an djust having a great time.

just booked yesterday. This is our first Disney cruise and we are excited and hope to join you for the meet before sail and other activities. Have not had time to read all posts, but hope to get some help from you all.

I haven't decided yet what to do about our door. I think my husband may kill me if I make any more trips to Michaels for craft supplies for this trip I may have to be super creative on the door...and use stuff I already have - so we'll see.

Have a question for all. Well actually this was asked of me by a co-worker and I didn't have an answer. She asked since this is DCL first visit to Tortula will they do anyting special for this cruise, like special gifts or treats? I told her that I didn't know since I have never been on a cruise before. SO that got me to thinking, will DCL do anything special for those going on the first visit to Tortula?

Hi everyone, We may be changing to this cruise because of costs and I was wondering if there is something on the cheaper side as far as excursions go for Tortola to do with 3 kids...ages 9, 6 and almost 2. Do they have any types of Dolphin Encounters or anything offered that won't break the bank? Thanks so much!

I haven't asked for an updated list yet because we still have 50+ days before we go anywhere and I ordered extras.

Hi everyone, Spent yesterday teaching dd and ds to ski!! Had a beautiful day in NH. Count us in for wrist bands. 4. My vote is for Blue also. Meeting in Promenade Lounge sounds fine. We plan on being at port at 10am so we should have our bearings by 3:30pm. The cruise can't come fast enough.

There was some talk about 1st cruises and said many times that the townspeople do some special things, bands,balloons,etc.
