Cast of characters, me 40, Dh 38, DS 6 1/2 and DS 2 1/2. This morning we tried the breakfast room service, and DH went up to Topsiders and brought back hot food as well. A somewhat leisurely morning in our cabin watching Disney movies, (the kids control the TV most of the time!) DH and I decide to try to see if Flouders can take the DS 2yr at 10:30 so we can go see the movie "Miracle". We had been waiting to see it on the cruise, but they were only showing it two times, and this was one of them. DS 6, went to the Oceaneers Club and Flounders said no problem. It was a really fun and well made movie. We loved it! I had a baggie full of junk to snack on (I actually heard the man in front of me complaining that the movie was 2hours long and nobody in his group brought food! as if we all needed more..lol)
I had cookies from room service, nuts from the cheese platter, room service, chocolates from the turndown, and don't forget the BAG of M&M's from Scoops! This is where bringing your own sodas comes in handy too. They did sell bags of grocery type popcorn and candy on a tiny cart outside before the movie started, in case you were wondering. After the movie we picked up the boys. It turns out that the Oceaneer club went to Animators Palette for lunch and they showed cartoons on the screen and they had the place all to themselves. DS 6 1/2 is still talking about that lunch, he loved it!
We went up to the pool for some swimming and lunch. I was determined to try a Panini sandwich from the Outpost bar? Well, whatever it was called it was above Signals and the turkey was really wonderful! They only offer these on sea days. We ate lunch at Pinochios or Plutos almost every day. I also finished the chicken fingers that the 2yr old was eating. It was about this time that I realized that people were walking by me with huge shrimp! Then I see the crab legs! Can you believe I am too stuffed to eat the seafood buffet? I still can't believe I missed this. Anyway, now is when I get the bright idea to explore the Rainforest Spa. DH said fine, he would watch the kids. So, I did the $15 tour, no treatments. You need to be wearing your swimsuit. They give you a robe and a locker key and you go into this big rooms with doors all around and each door is a different steamroom or sauna. The sauna was just so hot, nobody stayed in it for more than 2 min. I picked a good time, two loungers empty, two people exploring. I liked the different showers, one had aromas which was very nice. One steamroom was pretty small, but had a little fountain and rainforest noises, which I liked. Both steamrooms had hoses to cool yourself with. The second steamroom had a strong smell of eucolyptus, some people wanted that for their sinuses. You needed to sit on a towel in there because of the hot tiles. Back out in the main area, I sit in a heated tile lounger. I don't know how people hog there, by bottom was burning from the heat after about 5 minutes! Back in my favorite aroma shower, and I was out of there. did the pool thing a little longer, and took the 2 yr old for a nap. This is the nap where I heard, B 10, I 15! Oh, yeah, baby, BINGO right below me in the Walt Disney Theatre! Matinees were not my favorite activity either! I enjoyed them all as if I were there, right through the floor of my cabin! DH did some arcade games with DS 6 and then they came back to the room, DS 6 napped and DH wanted to explore the rainforest room for himself. We both agreed that it was fun, but not enough to use it again after dinner for our full day pass or anything. spent some of the afternoon packing so not rushed the next day.
Dinner tonight was Lumieres' semi-formal. We got out early to meet and greet with characters (did this a lot for the boys). This was Lobster night, and mine was a little dry, not good enough to order two, which I had been planning to do. I forgot to mention that the white chocolate dome dessert the other Lumieres' night was awesome! After dinner, the kids went to their clubs, and we went up to check out the Cove Cafe, coffee bar. We just caught sunset and it was beautiful. Spent some time there just reading magazines, then off to Disney Dreams. I felt bad again for not bringing the 6 yr old, but he does not sit well through long live shows. It was pretty good, not as good as I thought it would be after reading about it here. Not sure if I'd see it again. We then went to Sessions for the Piano bar, it was Nat King Cole tribute night. (We missed Sinatra night:(
There was a comedian, Gary Purpura, in Rockin D, get there early, we had to stand in the back, but he was very funny, goofy card tricks, and the prizes are lotion from your cabin!
Called it a night after a perfect day at sea, and looking forward to Castaway Cay the next day!
