Does anybody know what dock the ship will be sailing from in Barcelona? I can't seem to find this information anywhere.
Corinna
It is at Terminal C. Here is a link to a great site that has info about getting around the cruise port. http://www.barcelona-tourist-guide.com/en/transport/barcelona-cruise-port.html
I don't see availability at US Air either and I've tried their site many times and so many other web sites including looking at other airports that we could drive or take a train from that are within a reasonable distance. We also need 4 seats so would love to know who is seeing seat availability on US Air over next few days unless in reality there is 1 seat on a flight or two.
We have talked with American several times this morning. As much as they are helpful and try, given the discussions we are not optimistic that something is going to break loose. Disney won't put us on the May 5th cruise. We've tried that already as we could swing that. And they indicated that we are likely months in going through a refund process is what they are hearing though they don't know as its another company (I wonder if there are so many claims expected that there could be a huge backlog driving that). We already know that worse case scenario is Disney will step in and honor a credit for a future cruise since we did the trip insurance with them.
I hope you find something. We keep looking and still "wishing for a miracle". For those that haven't gone yet, good luck. This is a wonderful cruise and I hope everyone has a nice time.
I know if we can find a way to get to Barcelona in time, we will be ready to have a good time.
Well - I don't know whether to allow myself a ray of hope at this point - but Travel Insured International may have come through for us with their trip assistance and we are currently working with them on a flight through Brussels leaving JFK tomorrow evening on JetAirways. It will arrive in Barcelona on Thusday afternoon. Keep your fingers crossed - the Langs may not be down for the count just yet!
Lubi-
Let us know. I'll try to check in here and on facebook.
Hope to see you there.
Fingers crossed and prayers for travel mercies. I'm still trying to think of a good Orthodox saint for travel, but come with no one. Maybe St. Herman of Alaska. He's our favorite all purpose American saint.

I'm so glad to hear this!!!! I've been watching you guys agonize through this, and I've been hoping everyone will be able to get there on time. Did you buy Travel Insurance through Travel Insured International? I'm going to add this to my list of many reasons to buy trip insurance! They're helping you where the airlines couldn't/wouldn't!Well - I don't know whether to allow myself a ray of hope at this point - but Travel Insured International may have come through for us with their trip assistance and we are currently working with them on a flight through Brussels leaving JFK tomorrow evening on JetAirways. All UK airports can reopen from 2200 BST on Tuesday, the Transport Secretary Lord Adonis has said.
Lord Adonis made the statement after consultation with the Civil Aviation Authority and a reassessment of the risk to aircraft from volcanic ash.
Some restrictions will remain in place, but they will be much smaller than those enforced under the current ban.
Lord Adonis said after the ban was lifted it would be up to airlines to bring flight schedules back on track.
Dame Deirdre Hutton of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said there had been detailed consultation with experts to reassess the tolerance of planes to the ash cloud.
The CAA said it was a "situation without precedent" and that decisions had been made based on "thorough gathering of data and analysis".
"The major barrier to resuming flight has been understanding tolerance levels of aircraft to ash," the CAA said.
"Manufacturers have now agreed increased tolerance levels in low ash density areas."
Lord Adonis emphasised that safety remained paramount.
He said: "It is essential that we guarantee to the travelling public that the airlines are safe and that planes can safely fly."
Despite the lifting of the ban, it will be some time before flights return to normal.
Well, I think I spoke too soon - we're waiting for confirmation but it looks like our JetAirways flight is now canceled as well. Figures - we jinxed ourselves - we paid for the dang flight and then they cancel it.
Yes, travel insured international has been wonderful. They have a call into a travel agent right now - I guess they're trying to find out what's going on. I guess we're back to square 1 - I'm utterly defeated at this point and ready to take it as a sign that we're not meant to get there this time. Sorry - don't mean to be such a sour puss - you've all been so supportive. Thanks for all the pixie dust! I'll let you know if anything changes.
