4/20

Ya know, just to be on the safe side I think I will announce to DD when I pick her up from school today that today 4/20 at 4:20 is "National Hangout with you mom!" day. Won't she be thrilled!!! Maybe I'll invite my Mom over, she can't say No to hanging out with grandma on a Friday night, that would be plan rude. LOL :)

I'm surprised at how many people didn't know what 4:20 meant. :smokin:

I'm going to have to look into this. I know DD15 mentioned having to wear her Bob Marley shirt today. I wonder if it has something to do with him?

:rotfl: :rotfl: :hippie:

Better tell DH to get out his Marley shirt and wear it today.

I just totally forgot about it. Good thing I read this thread. :) My oldest is only 10yo, but now I'll be ready when she and her brother become teens. :goodvibes

I didn't know it either...although now that I read about it, maybe I have, long ago, heard of it before.
Today is actually my DH's b-day. And his college best friend. Gosh, I bet they had a blast way back when the dinosaurs roamed the earth! ;)

uh-oh time to have a talk-- Hey you might surprise her that you know just a BIT more than she suspected!

See the DIS CAN BE a very educational tool!:cool1:

Why do I love him so much? Spicoli cracks me up for some reason.

:lmao: I JUST mentioned Spicoli the other night to DH- I said I think I NOW realized why Jeff -while hitting himself in the head with his sneaker- said what he said......and didn't feel a thing:lmao:

Come ON..... are you ALL really didn't know about 4/20??? DUDE!!! It was my favorite day/time in college!!! ;)

Driving my son and his friend to school this morning, the girl (age 15) says to him "today's weed day". I never heard of this before.:confused3

You're supposed to take the day off work and pull the weeds in your yard.

I must live on Castaway Cay because I have never heard of the meaning of today. My teens, I am sure, also have no idea what today is. Maybe we are all just too straight laced in my family. I swear I learn something new on this web site every day!!!

OMG! Now I know how my DD15 & I are going to spend our "Mommy & Me" time!!!!! I really should stop off at the dollar store & pick us up some matching gloves & foamy things to kneel on too! Ya know,to make it special for her. :lmao:

Don't you have feather clips from the fair? They can use them to pull the weeds.

hmmmm...don't remember this one!!!!

DH's college suite mates (not him or his roommate) used to get stoned :smokin: every night at 7:47, but I don't recall anything about 4/20.

I have another thread about this because I didn't see this one. I teach HS and all the stupid potheads skip today. I guess I would wish all the responsible adults a happy day but in my world no responsible adult is still smoking pot.

hmmmm- That is what you think. I think it is very secretive among adults. You can't just come right out and discuss it. And that is too bad that society sees it that way-But everyone can discuss their drinking habits. Which I, for one, do not have one!

I think it is funny that you use the word "still" like it is only for kids/young adults. Why is it OK for responsible adults to drink but not to smoke- :confused3

You would be amazed at some of the people you think don't do it- but really do.

BTW- I am very responsible. I have no children by choice, I own my own home, pay my bills on time, have a full time job, same one for 12 years and am a very nice person....you would love me :lmao:

OMG - I remember those and I remember what a big fuss the police would make over those silly things. I had one clipped to my rear view mirror. I remember the police would pull you over for drug paraphenila back in the day (those clips can be bought at the hardware store) :lmao:
