So when do you think we will get our cruise docs?

I was thinking last night that we should change the time of the meet for those people who's flights are later. I'd hate for anyone to miss it. :sad2: Should we make it 3:15? We don't want to be too close to the 4:00 drill. If we have it after the drill, we'll miss the sail away party. What do you all think? Please let me know.

I don't think the docs will be here much before the begining of April. I think we should all have them 2 to 3 weeks before sailing.

Four Weeks From Today::::::Da Bahamas:banana: :cool1: :cheer2:
How do you all keep from bouncing off the walls with excitement:yay: :yay: :yay:
Now if I can stick to my diet:rotfl2:

My DH had a question for everyone......as soon as we board,
will all the restaurants/bars be opened? He said he will be ready
for a nice cold drink, but I wasn't sure if we had to wait till
after the safety drill to start celebrating (the drill might be funnier
after a few Bahama Mamas:rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2: )

Another question for DS....will the Mickey pool be ready to go
as soon as we board? :beach: pirate:

26 more days:cool1:
26 more days:banana:
26 more days:cheer2:

Ada:flower3:

Judy had it right ... yup, you'll be able to partake in some "adult" beverages once you get onto the ship :thumbsup2 The Mickey pool will be open and it's actually a GREAT time to get the little ones into the pools ... they won't be overly crowded. One comment that I do have about the food ... yes Parrot Cay and Beach Blanket Buffet will be open for lunch once you board the ship, but I do believe that Plutos will be open by the Mickey Pool too if you just wanted to grab a burger or hot dog or those yummy chicken fingers by the pool while your DS was swimming. This will be our 4th cruise w/DCL and we've NEVER done the lunch buffet :scared1:

Still doing pretty good sticking to the diet! Also trying to get lots of exercise ... is it sad that I actually have to "schedule" my workouts these days :sad2: If they aren't in the planner they don't happen ... therefore, they go into the planner :yay:

Judy,

Anytime for the meet with us is good!

Somewhere on this board I found a "packing list" and now I can't find it! Would anyone know where it is? I want to make sure I have everything from A to Z in my suitcase!! LOL

It's 24 days till we fly to FLA ! Yipeeeee

Time to get out of the snow!!!

OMG...... we could never skip the buffet!!! It wouldn't be the start of a Disney cruise without all that shrimp and mango soup!!! :sad2:

Us too, it's so hard to pull DH away from the shrimp :rotfl: Kids usually want to eat and run to the pool, but DH wants to stay and enjoy his meal :thumbsup2

We usually go to Parrot Cay but if we get there early enough this time we may try Beach Blanket.

Laurie,

Here is a link to a VERY complete packing list:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=497331&highlight=+Packing++List

However...... we try to go by the rule of "Lay out everything you think you will need/want to take.......... then put at least half of it back!"

After many trips to WDW and 4 DCL cruises, we still tend to overpack! We're getting better at it, but not quite perfect.

I am all for getting out of this snow, and cold and wind........

How is everyone doing today?!?! I keep looking at my Disney travel (large!!) container saying I really should start to go through and see what I have/need and start iorning some of our disney tee's that have been packed away since last year (yup..i'm a dress the boys alike..everyone in a disney tee at the world dork :rotfl: !!!) Lori :sail:

Hi Lori,

The difference in lunch (other than the first day) is that BBB is a buffet and Triton's is sit down/order from the menu. You can go to BBB in a swimsuit/coverup but not to Triton's.

As for not getting sick...... we all start taking Airborne about a week ahead of a trip (and while on the trip and a few days after we get home) and it seems to help. They have the new powdered kind that is lemon-lime flavored and is actually pretty good.

I need to drag out the old Disney suitcase and pull out the things I want to take....refillable mugs, fanny pack, FRS radios, etc. My shopping list grows longer by the day too! This getting ready for the trip is a lot of fun!:thumbsup2

Prayers going out for Benjamin, and all our Great Thinkers (!), to stay healthy before, during and after. Tommy is coming down with a cold or allergies today....and I'm thinking great! :sad2: Get it all out of your system now.

Whatever works best, it's vacation no worries mate. Whatever works for the majority I'm all for.

I dont think we will be on the boat much before 3pm,since our plane lands at 12:40. By the time we get to the boat,it will probably be 3pm.

I need to start my cruise shopping,I'm making my list right now:woohoo:

Hi Everyone,
3:00-3:15.....whatever time is best for all, just let us know, and we'll be
there (jumping up and down with excitement:banana: :cool1: :cheer2: )
I'll just look for all the green:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
and people :grouphug: grouphugging!!!

For DS (9).....do you think Airborne, Bonine and ginger is a lot for his
system???? He's not one to take much OTC meds, so I hope it doesn't
backfire and make him feel worse :confused3

I'm more the be safe than sorry, so I don't mind loading up on whatever
will help me stay healty....DH is the "Nope, I'm just fine." so I don't think
he'll do anything.

4 weeks from today:::::: Castaway Cay :beach:
Is the BBQ place better to eat at than going back on the shippirate:
anyways......25 more days:banana:
25 more days:banana:
25 more days:banana:
Ada

How easy is it to get off and on the ship (long lines???)

One more question (for now of course:rotfl2: ):
We've made brunch reservations at Palo........how do we tip there????
Is it separate from our "regular" dining CMs.....and should we just tip
our particular server that day???? And for brunch....how much?:confused3

And, for drinks that you get at the bars.....again, should we tip right there
and then, or at the end of the cruise?????

sorry...... us newbies don't know much, do we:lmao:

Ada:flower3:

Judy,

Our family will be on the ship as soon as it opens!! So anytime for the meet and greet is fine for us!:cool1:

I plan to have the kids wear their swimsuits and go right to the Mickey pool for a few slides! Wheeeeeeee!:rotfl: Hamburgers and Hots are fine for us from Pluto's! Will Scoop's Ice Cream be open then too?

Alisa

I think we should move the meet to 3:00 so there is a better chance that everyone can make it.:goodvibes Lori, you're right, 3:15 is too close to the drill. I think a half hour should be plenty of time to meet. Then we can all get back to our SR's to get the life preservers for the drill. If people want to get together again, they can discuss it at the meet. We can always plan to hang out together later in the day. If anyone doesn't make it, contact me in my SR (#7620) to get the booklet.

I just hope everyone sees this message and doesn't get there at 2:30. I would feel terrible about that!

Ada, most people really love the BBQ at CC, so it isn't necessary to go back to the ship for lunch. It is very easy to get back on though. You just need your KTTW card and a photo ID.

As far as Palo, you tip your server there when you sign your tab for the additional fee and for your liquor bill. You can just add the tip to the bill. I can't comment on how much you should tip since we've only done dinner, not brunch. I can't even remember what we tipped for dinner last time!:confused3
For the drinks, you can just add your tip to the tab as you would in a bar on land. Just charge it to your room.

My kids never got seasick, so I can't advise on the Bonine, etc. I brought Bonine for myself, but never needed it. I'll probably bring it again, just in case. I usually bring a traveling medicine chest with me, since one of us always gets sick!:rotfl2: I've had bad luck with accidents and illness on trips in the past, but luckily never on a cruise. Cruising really agrees with me! Lori, maybe Benjamin will be lucky on this trip and won't get sick.:woohoo: I have a good feeling about that!

I really need to go through our summer clothes to see what we need. DD definitely need bathing suits. I had just bought her a new one, but it was stolen out of her gym locker at school, along with her Disney Magic towel from our last cruise and her favorite flip flops! Apparently someone from a visiting school got into the girls locker room during a sporting event and broke into 10 lockers.

Remember, the meet will now be at 3:00 in the Promenade Lounge.:grouphug: I'll post our DIS meet list again prior to the cruise.

The last time we did brunch at Palo, we tipped $10 per person on top of the additional fee for dining at Palo. There is a thread going on the main board about tipping at Palo, and it's been stated that the server only gets a very minimum amount ($0.40) of the additional fee.

As for tips on bar drinks - keep in mind that they automatically add a %15 gratuity to every drink order at the bars and in the dining rooms.

Having the meet at 3:00 sounds like a good idea..... not too early and plenty of time to get back and get ready for the drill.

Finally got our stateroom assignment :cool1:

Not a bad location neither, on deck 6 between forward and mid, very happy :thumbsup2

23 days until we leave :dance3:
