4/15/2007 Anyone?

Luckily, we don't have to worry about a rental car.

Judy, we (DW and I) are planning on going to Wal-Mart tonight to look for Neon Green bands. Does anyone know where I can find them at Wal-Mart?

Looking forward to it!!!

I haven't picked up the wrist bands yet, so I can't help you. Maybe someone else who has purchased them can let you know. I'll probably look during the week.

I found them in front of the store by the checkout lines.

I've never cruised with Disney before but everything I hear about the Sailaway party is that it's a zoo, and very difficult for a meet. I say Stick with the original meet and maybe have a supplemental greet later in the evening after the late dinner seating. Just a thought.

I think we just need to hope that everyone makes the original meet. Meeting after the late seating is a great idea, except for the really young kids who may be too tired. Can anyone think of a good supplemental meeting place?

Hi...Nebie Here!
Thanks to Sue....she guided me onto this great site.....
We're sailing with all of you too!
Our very 1st cruise ever.....followed by our very first
WDW vacation to celebrate our 20th anniversary.
My DH and DS (9) are very excited, but nothing like
me.....I'm so ready and excited, cannot wait. I have
tons of questions for all of you...so be nice to me,
and I'll apologize ahead of time for the dumb ones
I'll be asking. And thanks to all the great info-tips,
I can't get enough of these DIS forums (DH and DS
make fun of me, cause I've not done a thing recently
but to sit in front of the computer and drool over the
Palo brunch video and other photos of all the Disney
food!) Well, here are the first set of Qs:

1. Anyone with DS9 or there abouts?? (He's worried
about the Oceaneer Lab alone.):rolleyes2
2. Dremamine or Ginger???? ((DH says none for him,
worried about me and DS):crowded:
3. What's all this about door posters?? Do we decorate
our own "family poster"????:artist:
4. Lime Green braclets, and where exactly should be meet?:grouphug:
5. For Nassau, is the Catamaran/Reef Snorkel cancelled???:sad1:
6. How early is too early to get to CC our first morning from the
Airport Hyatt??:coffee:
7. Read somewhere outdoor chairs are hard to come by? DH wants
to sit and pretty much veg all day.....where can I grab a chair for
him??:cool1:
8. Anyone as excited as I am for our very 1st cruise????::yes::
Can't wait????:hourglass :flower3: :beach:

Ada (Daniel's mom)

Sorry....1 more:
9. How do we paste those cute TickerFactory countdown??
I've copied, but can't seem to Paste......
thanks,
Ada:flower3:

Hi Ada:wave2:
Glad you found us...

I'll answer what I know...

1) I have DS8, will be 9 in May. I believe AlisaP also has a DS8. So no worry Daniel will be the only boy in the lab.

2) I bring both, I go to Target right before the trip and pick up Dramamine, Pepto and any other small OTC drugs. I don't open the packages and keep the receipt at home. If we don't use them at the end of the trip, I just return them after the trip. I bring Yogi Ginger Tea because I have a very sensitive stomach (partly due to lactose intolerence), Ginger tea settles it pretty quickly.

3)Many families decorate their doors, do a search on the forum and you'll get lots of ideas.

4)Judy (JRose529) will send out final meeting reminder closer to sail date.

5)I'm not aware that the Catamaran Sail is cancelled :confused3 Where did you hear?? I hope not as we have reservation for this excursion!

6)Don't know, maybe someone else will respond.
7)Unless your DH wants to sit right by the pool, there are plenty of chairs all over the ship. Personally I prefer the ones near the Cove Cafe.
8)Excited yes, ready, no!!
9)As you can tell, I don't have a ticker, so can't help you! sorry!

Sue

Thanks for all your help, Sue!!:flower3:
Daniel's better too, knowing there will be other kids his agepirate:
Looking forward to meeting all of you:boat:

Ada (Daniel's mom)

:welcome: We are so glad to have you join us!

Since Sue answered most of your questions, I will help with a few.

1. I will post the list of DIS meet member below, so you can see the ages of all the kids. There are quite a few kids around Daniel's age.

3. Some people make door magnets for their stateroom door. As Sue said, take a look on the main board if you think you may be interested in doing this. A few of us put our signs in this thread if you want to look back a few pages.

4. Our meeting place is in the Promenade lounge on Deck 3 at 2:30 PM. The DIS color is lime green, so if you and your family want to wear something lime green, it will be easier to spot each other. Wal-Mart sells green rubber wrist bands if you want to pick those up. I believe they are under $1 each. I will also tie lime green ribbon to my carry-ons. (If I can find it.)

6. I wouldn't get to the port earlier than 10 AM on the 15th. You can't enter the building before then. You also won't be able to board until noon or later.

8. I can't wait for April 15!!!!   You will all have a fabulous trip!

9. If I remember correctly, you can right click on the countdown ticker and it will bring you to the site where you can personalize a ticker. It also gives you directions to put the ticker into your signature so it shows up on every post.

Here is our DIS Meets list. It's getting longer every day!:yay: :yay: I can't wait to meet you all.

Thanks, Judy!:hippie:
I'll head out to WalMart today for those green wristbands!
And thanks for the tip on the door sign threads, too! Pretty
creative......I'll have to think of something fun to make.
See you soon......almost a month away:banana:
Ada (AKA Daniel's Mom/PowayMom):yay:

Wanna know how I know that this cruise is coming up QUICK ... I've officially started and STUCK to my diet this week  Yeah, yeah, I know it's only Wednesday, but usually I blow it before lunch on Monday

It's great to see our DISlist growing and growing :cheer2: Just wondering what dinner rotation you all have? We have late, chose it actually. Late dining actually works out well for our family. Since we're used to doing the 7 day ... I'm not even sure I'll see my kids at all for dinner. They both just love the club/lab and since we're not on the ship all that long ... I'll have a hard time pulling them out and dressing them up I'm sure :rotfl2:

We have the main dinner time. At least thats what is said on our reservations:)

Hey Guys,
We originally had the late dinner seating, but DMIL
(expert cruiser) said earlier's better and then catch
the show afterwards. Being the good DDIL, I changed
it to the earlier (and she's not even going with us).
Anyone else signed up for the early dinner??? I'm just
excited to eat(early/late.....doesn't matter:yay: ).

Went to WalMart to find the Green WristBands...couldn't
find any, so I found LimeGreen Ribbon in the sewing
aisle.....guess I'll make my own braclet.

Finally got DS's passport in the mail today....so we now
all have IDs to get back home. Can't wait:cheer2:

We are doing the first seating for dinner. We like to eat early.

Welcome Ada,

We are flying in from Los Angeles the day before and staying at the Hyatt MCO.
Are you doing this too?

Hi Aussie Sheila,:flower3:
Yes, we're coming in from San Diego that day before and staying at
MCO Hyatt!! I see you have 2 DDs...my DS is 9 (will be 10 in July),so
maybe they'll be together at the Lab on the ship :stir:

Can't wait....is this your 1st cruise??? It's our very first, and we are
so excited:banana: :cheer2: :woohoo:

I'm hoping the pool at the Hyatt is nice, and we can watch the planes
land and take off. The restaurant's supposed to have a nice view of
the planes as well. A nice start to our fun week!!!

We'll see you in just over a month:hourglass

Hi Ada,

This will be our first family cruise. Back in my early twenties I did 2 cruises out of Sydney around the Pacific Islands but that was way before husband and children so this is going to be a completely different experience. I'm really looking forward to it.

I'm also looking forward to the Hyatt. Staying inside an airport terminal sounds exciting.

Where can I find the times we arrive/depart Nassau and CC? What time can you get off the ship at Nassau?

Anyone staying at Residence Inn the night before?

According to Dreams' itinerary: Nassau 9:30-7:30 and CC 8:30-4:30

We're staying at Country Inn the night before.

We have Main Dining, I hope that's late, if not, I'll try to change it onboard. We are night owls.

Those of you flying out from Logan, can I ask how much are you paying for airfare? I'm paying $400pp, highest I've ever paid for going to MCO!! Heck, I paid less going to CA last April vacation!!

Sue

Sue :scared1: on those airline prices  We're not flying out of Boston. Since we live in the western part of the state it's closer (and easier) for us to fly out of Hartford. We paid more for these tickets than I'm used to paying to fly to Florida ... but it is April vacation week and the airlines know it

Main dining is early dining I believe. I think the choice are "main" and "late". PowayMom, aren't you just the best DDIL :) I hope the change works out for your family and you can thank MIL for the great advice :thumbsup2 My family tends to eat later at home anyway, so 5:30, 5:45 or 6:00 would just be WAY to early for us.

Ok, off to find some Navigators so I can tell DH what kind of "stuff" we can look forward to on the ship. :teacher:
