4/15/2007 Anyone?

Hi Everyone,
My husband and I and or two daughters DD(10) and DD(7) will be travelling all the way from Sydney Australia just to take this cruise and then spend two weeks in WDW.
It will be our first visit to WDW with kids. We went as a couple in 1995 not long after we got married and loved it.
We can't wait to share the experience with our kids and the cruise will be the icing on the cake.
We will be staying at the Hyatt Orlando Airport the night before the cruise after a day stopover in LA.
I've been doing a lot of research for this trip and the info on these boards has been invaluable.
Can't wait to meet up with everyone on the ship.

AussieFan...... welcome to the DIS. There is a wealth of information here, about DCL and WDW, as well as some very helpful people to answer any questions you may have. It sounds like you are going to be in full Disney mode for about three weeks. What a great vacation!!

Aussie Fan, thats great you have 2 Daughters. My two daughters are 4 and 8. I'm hoping my girls get to meet up with others to play with :bitelip:

Hi Kedz.
I'm sure my girls would like to meet yours. They are 9 and 6 now but will have birthdays before the trip. They have some Disney experience because we took them to Disneyland in 2004 but this will be their first cruise. They are so excited.

I have two sons that will be 7 and 10 on the cruise. We'll spend a few days on the west coast of Florida with my FIL before the cruise. After the cruise we're planning on spending 6 days at WDW. My kids haven't been to The World since May of 2002 ... we were severely bitten by the cruise bug and have been doing that since :teeth: Although ... <<ssshhh>> DH and I did WDW without the kids for our 10th anniversary back in 2003 ;)

I haven't booked flights yet, but I've been watching them. Keep an eye out for Southwest to open up dates into April. I noticed a dip in prices on other airlines around the same time Southwest opened up into March :confused3

I sent my note along to DCL stating my displeasure about them getting rid of the band :guilty: Just can't imagine a cruise without a live band for the deck parties and such :confused3

AussieFan,we will definetly have to meet up. My youngest will be 5 when we go on the cruise and my oldest 8.

My DW and I are booked for April 15-19. This will be our 2nd Disney Cruise. We are DVC'ers!! We are in room 6585. Had a category 9 last time, and didn't spend enough time in the room to pay more for the view. So, we got a higher deck and an inside cabin! Looking forward to it!!!

Since this is our first cruise we went with the Verandah. We are on the sixth deck as well,I just cant remember the room number.

Hi Everyone,

I'm back from my world travels! It's great to see some new people have joined this thread. I have to go through my list and add everyone as soon as I download all my pics from London and California.

I can't believe DVC is getting rid of the live band. I have to write and let them know how unhappy I am with this news. :sad2:

I have to book our flight as well. I hope the prices have dropped since I checked a couple of weeks ago.

I went ahead and let Disney book our flight, thinking it would be less stressful for me. Now,I"m worried they might not put us on an early enough flight :sad2:

This thread has been so quiet. I ended up in the hospital having emergency surgery two weeks ago, so I haven't been at my computer much. I'm starting to feel better, so I thought it was time to check back here.

I'm making the DISmeet list right now. As soon as it's finished, I'll post it. There are a few people who had signed on at the begining, but we haven't heard from since.

I still haven't booked my flight! I think I'll take a look at my options today. The prices have been so high! Are you all flying into Orlando? I can get a much cheaper flight into Palm Beach, but the drive will be a pain.

Here is our group so far. I haven't heard back from MikeS, so I hope he's still joining us. If you're out there Mike, let us know if you'll be on the cruise. I also need more info from you. If anyone has anything else to add, let me know. Right now we have about 38 people, but I didn't count MikeS's family since I'm not sure how many are in his group.

We are driving down. It is about 8 hours from our house to the Port. We got a room off Priceline for the Sat. night before in Orlando. Then we will drive over early on Sunday morning. Then we have a night at the Wilderness Lodge on Thursday night, before we drive home on Friday night.

What about everyone else?

We hope to fly down on Saturday and stay at the Port overnight. On the 19th, we leave for OKW until Saturday. I'm still not happy with the cost of the flights though.

If any of you would like to share your stateroom numbers, let me know and I'll add it to our list. If everyone wears something lime green so we can recognize each other, we can meet in the Promenade Lounge at 3:30 on Sunday. Will that work for everyone?

We are flying out the day of,with disney booking our flight. I hope we didnt make a mistake by doing this :sad2:

I have to look up our stateroom,I believe we are the 6th deck. I know we have a verandah.

We just got home last night from the 7 day Thanksgiving Western double dip, on the Magic Talk about DCL withdrawal!!! We've only been home about 20 hours and we already miss it --- a lot! Good thing we have this April cruise booked already!!!!

We are flying into MCO Friday night, probably staying at the MCO Hyatt that night and then going to a hotel near the port on Saturday. We already have our flights, and they were not cheap! That is school vacation week in MA so all the flights are expensive, even months in advance. Since we will be staying in Orlando (for 2 days) after the cruise, we will probably rent a car at MCO and just keep it for the entire week and park it at the port. Very convenient, and not much more (maybe less) than two separate car rentals.

kedz -- just a suggestion, but you might want to look into doing your own flights and flying down the day before. That way you control the times, and it may be cheaper than going through DCL. Unless you've already made your final payment, you can cancel the DCL flights. When we sailed last Saturday, we had to wait for people and luggage to arrive from MCO. We ended up leaving about 25 minutes late.

Welcome back Ed! It sounds like you had a Magical time. :wizard: Will you be writing a TR? Give us details! :teeth:

I still have not booked our flights yet. We may have to fly out late Saturday night. I just found out DD may have winter percussion championships on the 14th! Championships had been scheduled for the prior weekend and we received a message this weekend that they have been moved. :sad2: DD wants to skip them, but she really can't.
