4/14/2012 7-Nights Western Caribbean on the Fantasy

:

I've never monitored the FE list before but will gladly do so this time around!

I guess we will eventually need to know if you are IN or OUT for the FE. Next we will need stateroom #s if you know them already or get us updated ASAP when you get it. Other than that, I'm guessing we can decide later based on how many will participate - what days we will do them, etc. Sadly there are stories of items getting stolen - so maybe we can each designate our own delivery timeframe like "between 8 and 9 pm" so that we know when to look for them. Thoughs??? I would hate for someone to feel tied down to a specific day and time when they are on vacation but it also might be a fun thing for the younger kids to look forward to if they know they have a scheduled gift giving tour!

Again, I have never run a FE group before so please ... ANY and ALL comments and suggestions are welcome!!

Only 312 days left!!!

Thanks for voluntEARing, Kat!!:cool1:

My 2 cents:
Assign a day for each family to deliver. That way we know we will get at least one gift each day..:) I think it is too difficult to assign a time.

This is going to be great. I,m getting excited!!!:yay::yay:

:welcome: to all of the new families that are joining us!!

Going to be a great group of Dis'ers on this cruise!!

I've finally updated the list ... please find the link in my signature below and also please take a moment to review your info and get any changes / updates to me via the thread or PM. I'm sorry that it took so long to get everyone on the list ... my LIFE is getting in the way of my DIS'ing!!! :laundy:

So sad to see Gail (weluvdisney5) go ... she will remain with us in spirit!! :lovestruc

So now that summer has hit, it feels like CRUNCH TIME already!! Airfare for us will hopefully be JB from White Plains into Orlando ... JB is notorious for starting out ridiculously high so we might be considering Bradley this go around if the prices are worth it. Fingers crossed the JB doesn't go all praying mantis on us!

Thanks for organizing the fish extender. Count us in. I will PM you our cabin number.

DD will be super excited that there are so many 10 year old girls in the group (8).

My DD10 will not know of this cruise until Christmas Day (or so we hope as we slooowly pay it off). I'm sure she would love, love to be pen pals with any of the DD10's out there (many of us are from New England, LOL). If anyone is interested, PM me:goodvibes They would have Jan-April to correspond!!:goodvibes

Great idea ... I'm sure we will have many families participating so maybe we can do a morning and an evening for each family so that it will narrow it down.

I can say that this is a wonderful way for the kids to get to know each other. My daughter did this on the last 2 cruises and we are still very good friends with these families, incidentally.

She is currently emailing with Isabel (garberathome's daughter) and they are having a blast! I wil gladly give Gabi's email to any 12/13/14 year old girls if they are interested.

I have participated in two FE exchanges before but was never assigned a day or time to deliver the FE gifts so this is something new for me.

Is it something you would rather not do? I only suggested it in light of some people reporting theft from the pranksters on board. Figured it would help reduce it if we knaaaew when to expect it. Just an idea. We have plenty of time to decide!

It does not matter to me. I was just wondering if assigning days/times was something new. I have been seeing this recently. I totally understand why. My past two cruises have been member cruises with a lot less kids. So, I am open to almost anything. This will be my first 7-day cruise so I will probably be asking a lot of questions.

Thank you for volunteering to organize this.

I've only done one FE and it was during February school vacation week, so lots of kids. We did not have any problem with theft, but we were in the second cabin forward.
I only suggested the idea of assigning days so that you would get at least one gift everyday. (sunday-friday)
Also, if the FE is full, and you need to deliver your gifts, :confused3 what will you do?:confused3. IMO, an overflowing FE is a set up for items to be taken.
All that aside, I am going to be on vacation, and when on vacation...I go with the flow.....:cool2:

My DD would love to be pen pals. I will PM you an email after Christmas. Any other girls as well. DS will be 8 at the time of the cruise and would love a pen pal as well.

That would be fantastic! The DIS is the best!!

This is Isabel's mom (garberathome) and yes, Isabel and Gabi are having a great time getting to know each other before the cruise. Isabel will be 13 when we cruise in April so any 12/13/14 girls who would like to her email please let me know. Ceci

GOOD EVENING LADIES AND GENTLEMEN,
BOYS AND GIRLS!
WE SET SAIL FOR OUR 2012 FANTASY CRUISE IN 44 WEEKS! THAT IS 308 DAYS!
:banana::banana::banana:

:goodvibes Very excited!! Paid off more than 1/2 the cruise so far. Hoping to have it completely paid off by the time Southwest releases their fares. Plus I need to renew the kids passports :confused:What a process that is!! Just to RENEW! They want all the "proof" you submitted the 1st time, submitted all over again!! Don't understand why they can't just renew it. They gave it out the first time, what's the big deal?:confused3 All I know is that it's been a rough year here & we will definitely néed this vacation.:thumbsup2

I think it is a great idea to let the kids get to know each other.
My girls will be 11, 9 and 2. My son will be 7.

It would be great if they could get to email with some kids before the trip!!! It could come through my email account just to be safe as well. :cool1:

Very EXCITED!!!!!!

G'day everyone, we've just recently booked on this cruise. We were looking at the options on the Dream around this time, but a 7 night on the newly launched Fantasy seemed so much more inviting. We'll be coming off the back of a few days at Universal and 10 nights at WDW, so a relaxing 7 nights on this cruise will be a great way to finish our holiday.

There are 4 of us, my wife and myself, and my 2 daughters who will be 18 and 16. It will be our second cruise, having sailed a 7 night on the Magic in January 2010. We're looking forward to this and are keeping a close eye on the information on the ship as it is released. Will pop into the boards every now and then to keep across any updates.

We did a 7 night eastern in Jan 2010...when did you sail?

We did a Western Caribbean that left January 9. It was freezing, and a brief light snow fell over Orlando the day we left, and the weather on the cruise was awful, but we still loved it! :cool1:

We're looking forward to some warmer weather on Castaway Cay on this trip. We are expecting hot humid days in Orlando, but that's OK, we're from the East Coast of Australia, it's hot and humid at least 3 months of the year.
