Mickey Mouse called to wake us up for our 8am Chef Mickeys ressie. We packed up but did not check out. I helped Grandma fill out all of her paperwork for the boat and offered to put it with ours. I quote, "I am not a bubble head, Melissa. I can hold them." Ok. So after a short search for Grandma's purse, we're off via monorail to breakfast. Now, I find the character breakfast on the boat a little rushed. I realize that it probably has to be that way, but with early seating, ours would have been at 8:00am. Too early for me with a toddler and infant. So we chose to do our character breakfast on land. As it turns out, we didn't get that much character interaction at Chef Mickey's, but the food was great. BriarPatch could care less about the characters, instead she gazed adoringly at the buffet! I swear she eats more than my 4 yr old any day. Speaking of which, Redhead barely ate but loved seeing Chip, Dale, Mickey, and Donald. We had to ask for then to send over Minnie before we left. She is Redhead's favorite! So its off to check out and load up. Had a great bellman who packed the van way better than I had. We had more room for our feet. Yea! Now about ten minutes in the kids start fighting in the back but I practice my mantra, "Rainforest room". So close. At 20 minutes prior to arrival at port, Grandma announces she has lost her Bahamas immigration form. I now confiscate her docs. At port we will be self parking for the week. My DH could drop us off first, then park. You pay in advance with cash or credit. Well, to get in to port they ask each adult for ID. Guess what Gran can't find??? I am nearly about to lose it when she does locate it. So we drop off. I brought a small stroller and was allowed to take it on with me. Big help. Went through security and up to line. In line my kids seemed to want to climb all over me. I was getting hot and tired. Then our CM, Clem, came to my rescue and escorted us on board. I hand out the new KTTW cards and instruct everyone to discard their old ones. Now I take baby Briar and head to the concierge meet in Sessions, everyone else heads to deck 9. I am greeted by a sweet girl from the spa first. We go over my couples massage I booked already with the REAS package. I ask about a haircut for Dh, the Surial Bath, and if I can do the ionthermie treatment if I am breastfeeding. She called and it was no problem, so I scheduled my ionthermie for 8am the next morning and a haircut for Shawn at 9am. I made the Surial for the morning of Cozumel at 10:30am. Now I am greeted by a CM from the kids clubs. They let me fill out paperwork for all my kids and I got a beeper. I didn't get Flounders appts because we had Grandma to watch Briar. But on our first cruise I used them for Redhead. They have time slots and you request the ones you want. It is a 2 hr minimum and they close at midnight. I found them to be wonderful, flexible if I needed to change the times, and great with the children. Here is something I didn't know before. If you have children under the age of 3 or nonpotty trained, you can check yourself into the Oceaneer club and your child can participate as long as you are with them. So the little ones can hear Belle tell a story or dance with Snow White.
Last, I met with Lucianna, our concierge. I had made 1 dinner, high tea and 2 brunches already. So I got hairbraiding appts for the girls, wine tasting, and a bridge tour. I was set. Off to find the family. They were on deck 9 and it was time to go to our rooms. We had a 1br (the slightly bigger ones by the elevators, thanks Dis boards for that tip) and a family suite. They were not real close to one another, but I had made door magnets, which helped. Flowers arrived from my family. So pretty, my anniversary was on Tuesday. I sent DH the excursion pack, DS the teen boy and oldest DD the teen girl packs from DCL. I sent Grandma and my 2 youngest DD's baskets from Shirley at the Perfect Gift. As always, she did a great job. Grandma had come to visit and pick-up Luc and Brae for the drill. (They were listed on her room and their station was different than ours.) It was when she went to leave that she discovered her purse was missing.
To be continued.....

(edited to adjust character breakfast time, confused it with debarkation breakfast time. oops. still too early for me.)

I'm really enjoying your reports, Neverlandclub! Travelling with Grandma reminds me of our "adventures" with two 81-year olds on the February 28 western.

Hope Grandma finds her purse soon ... I'm looking forward to the rest of the story!

When did they change the character breakfast on the ship to 6:45 am? We have been on the 7 day 3 times and have always had eary seating. I thought the 1st seating breakfast was about 8 am? I still have everything at home, tickets and will check tonight but I don't remember 6:45. Sure hope they didn't change, or we will not go in August, not worrth getting up early for.

The Character Breakfast time for early seating was 8:15 on the February 28 Western and 9:45 for the late seating. It is a lot more rushed than character meals at WDW though.

sorry I did post wrong breakfast time. I edited it. Confused it with debarkation breakfast time. Still too early for first morning which is when ours would have been.
