Hi all wont be long now. upgraded from cat 12 to a 9 room 2642.

We got the same upgrade! (different room # ) I can't wait for this cruise!!!!!

Do Cat 10's have a steamer trunk? I know 11's don't (except for the sideways ones).

All 10's have the double trunk! Only 10's and 4's have the double ones. We had them last time and LOVED them!!! I also love the location of them in the rooms bc they are tucked away and in a little "cubby" so it is easy to stack things like large suitcases or things on top.

On more not about 10's that we loved. We had one connector and one not and we would have preferred them both not to be connectors. They have this cool little "seat" area with storage undearneather and you lost it in a connector. I don't have a picture that shows it. Even though it would be better for our family to have connectors I would chose not to with 10's bc I loved the little seat so much.

I have to clarify... I am not officially sailing alone....my ds (14) is with me...but once he finds some new buddies/activities on the cruise he is gone and its like sailing alone. Not a complaint..i like that he has some independence but i do demand some family activity time too

For the mini-nav I need locations and DIS names for a Master Locator, FE people (Groups 1 and 2) and Stateroom Tag participants (that last one is actually for the tags, not the mini-nav). I'm bringing mine. To 1.) Keep in touch w/home/friends to expensive to talk much and my 72yr old Dad lives w/me.
2.) Let the boys get their homework and see what happened in school the first week.
3.) See what the Maderia story is.
4.) D/L my pics and video.
I'm obviously buying alot of minutes lol.

I have been going back and forth. Bring the netbook, leave it at home. I think I finally decided to bring it. I will buy one of the packages as I surf all the time. Well, mostly play on the disboards.

I keep going back and forth on if I want to bring my laptop. I'll probably bring it as a way to keep in touch with my family and it would be nice to be able to download pictures to send to them everyday too. I'm just not looking forward to carrying it as it gets kinda heavy.

We are bringing the netbook just to check work to make sure there aren't any customer service issues/queries while we're away, but we are not planning on "working" on the cruise. We'll also use it to keep in touch w/ family and I might also use it to watch some videos on our flight.

ok I have decided that just maybe I am a little obsessed about packing for this cruise.

I like the idea of the over the door hanging shoe rack and have used it before BUT I hated the time it took to "pack" it with the stuff once we got there - I would rather have everything all done before hand. So yesterday I purchased a Jewelry holder that has zippered pockets and is 2 sided. So tonight I sat down and took all my items and placed them in the little pockets. While they are smaller - most of my items are small and just required dividing somethings up further into the smaller pockets but there are some larger pockets at the bottom. I think this has 60 pockets total - 30 on each side. Now this only hangs by a hanger so it will not work over the door but I decided I could hang it on the knob on the wall near the bathroom - and since it is 2 sided I will be able to get more stuff organized into it into smaller divisions and I can prepare it all before we leave and just hang it up when we get there! I do have some pockets that are still empty that I will add my makeup into when we get on board as I will need that with me before that.

I am excited and like the compactness of it and love the fact it will be all ready!

I think that sounds like a great idea. We do a shoe hanger on the bathroom door for toiletries, but I never thought of pre-filling it.
What I'm thinking about right now is packing cubes - they really do make our packing easier....I think I need to buy some more though!

But it's not Catalan (the language spoken in Barcelona), it's Spanish, like the rest of the country, so perhaps in Cadiz/Seville. When I ask her a question in Spanish, she just looks at me like, huh?

But they do also speak some spanish in Barcelona - if she speaks spanish there they will understand her.

Isn't just having a verandah make it a possibility of issues with smoke? I too have issues with it and I worry I will have smoking neighbors - which is one reason I do not book verandahs on the onset - but will accept the upgrade because if it is an issue I can keep the doors closed and still look out the doors at the ocean. On the other cruise when we were upgraded to a balcony we did not get to enjoy it because hubby had a gallbladder attack on the cruise so we are hoping to enjoy this second chance with a balcony.

WE also have smoke allergies, my dd always books room 6060 and twice a cigar smoker next door made it impossible to go out. Apparently he likes the room next door. Also, we were in room 7004 last ta and the smoke blew in from the crew deck. We had to keep towels against the door.

Our last cruise was on Deck 2 and we liked it alot. The motion did not affect us any more than the other decks.

If ANYTHING, the higher decks are more prone to motion sickness. The higher you are, the more that portion of the ship will rock (bow to stern, or side to side). Think of it like being in an upper floor of a high rise. The upper floors (of a high rise) do indeed sway, while the lower floors are more stable.

On the other hand, staterooms located further foreward, or further aft (any deck level) are more prone to bow to stern rocking.

Haven't posted for a while, I think the last post said that my wife was waiting to take over.
Well she was and then there was the copyright debate and her heart sank. Whilst the debate and fallout raged she was blisfully uanaware and was hand crafting some beautiful momentos of the cruise for our two daughters. Anyway with her delicate handiwork finished she logged back on in the middle of 'copyright gate' (i'm only kidding ) and decided that she would not post the pictures of her toil.

I have spent the last few days trying to convince her to post the pictures, but she won't. So I waited until she went out!!!!

As I said before my wife is a jewellery maker and owns her own very small intimate business. She has made some very apt and truly original pieces for our two daughters. I think she is very clever and I wanted you all to see why I'm so very proud of her.....

So who wants to see the pictures??

It's up to you. This list will be in the mini-nav so people will know where each participant is. I suppose it can be used ahead of time for people still working on their gifts, but we have Michelle's list on Page 1 for that, as well.

One other thing -- if someone doesn't want to publish their stateroom # online but still wants to be included in the locator list(s), please PM me.
