LOL... I guess it could be worse... Imaging if the person in the airplane seat (or stateroom) next to yours or even a deck higher, paid $4,000 LESS than you did...

:scared1:

I'm flying back to the states from Barcelona with a 23 month old on my lap so we would be more than happy to keep you company, oh yea and my 5 year old that LOVES the airplane bathroom. :rotfl: You might want to make sure your on another flight:sad2:

We did that last time with Madison on the TA. She was 23 months old and we figured we would dave the airfare just one last time.

Wow sounds like your hands will be full. I'm the oldest of seven and we range in age from 2-31 so I know how busy you'll be on that flight.

She will be 1 week from turning two and I figured the same thing as you, I could save a few $$$. Now I'm wonder what my sanity is worth. As long as my son is next to me and I can lift his arm rest we can all fit together.

WE GOT OUR UPGRADE!!!!!! :cheer2::yay::banana: WHOO HOOO!!!
We went from a cat 11 to cat 6. And the best part is that my parents got upgraded also and we now have connecting staterooms.party:

What a great feeling. We have sailed DCL 9 times in that past and have never been upgraded.

This is us too ... 9 cruises with no real upgrade. Now we have both rooms go from Cat 11 to adjoining Cat 6's! :woohoo::banana::worship:

:flower3: I asked the DCL Cast Member who I needed to kiss and he said my DW.

We just got our room assignments. We booked 4 category 12's and ended up with 4 category 9's all on deck #2. I have only ever cruised on decks 7 & 8 so I am a bit nervous about being all the way down at the bottom of the ship. I have really never needed to use the elevators before.

~Ingrid

Our last cruise was on Deck 2 and we liked it alot. The motion did not affect us any more than the other decks.

Great minds think alike, :lmao::lmao::lmao: Just Kidding!!!

Great minds (or at least above-average)!

All of the cabins have a fridge actually :)

They are "beverage coolers." My sister and I were discussing this just a few days ago (I'll be using that phrase again in this post). If they were "refrigerators," they probably would have to do a daily check on temperatures to assure they were cold enough to keep food safe. :goodvibes - Can you tell I'm a nurse who has had to meet imposed requirements like this? If you are ever in a hospital and can't find a nurse, they are probably doing some sort of daily check-list for equipment.

...Although cruisecritic is also a popular site, ...

Besides DISboards and cruisecritic, are there any other forums out there for DCL? Do the people from cruisecritic (or other) get together and wear matching lanyards, t-shirts?

...Also, lots of neighbors to get to know!!

We would probably be interested in the room tag thing! It involves just moving a magnet to another's door, right?...

Room tag will be simple - and involve very little of your time. Although you will be checking your door closely every time until you get that Mickey head.

I found most of my mingling last cruise came in 2 places: Promenade Lounge (Disney games) and Rockin Bar D' for BINGO! and nighttime adult shows.

The fun of having a bunch of DISers near each other is looking down the long hallways of same-white-doors, only to spot the FEs and magnets of "your" fellow cruisers.

...Haven't posted for a while, I think the last post said that my wife was waiting to take over. ...

(Here's my other reference to talking to my sister the other day)...and I was saying it was strange to have men on the boards - Whoa! don't get worked up yet. As I've gotten older (and still single), I just don't have that much "talking" with men (usually husbands). But then I realized I live in a town of married male engineers and they are not the most communicative group. My DS said maybe these men (you guys) are the artistic or sociable type and not the type of men who keep their wives in the dark - my concern - (or they wouldn't let them go on a cruise, would they?).

I mentioned how Mrs. Young was going to take over the postings and realized I hadn't read anything from y'all.

We have some people who showed up on the boards and then haven't been heard of from in awhile. Wondered if it was long posts (like this one) that take up too much time or if they happened to start posting right when a controversy brewed (and subsequently died, forgotten by most). Or maybe they have just become lurkers.

According to AuntLynne the keeper of all knowledge:worship:(May she live forever):worship:( we sail in 45 days! If you are flying in on Friday it is 44:surfweb:

And those calendars would be a big THANK YOU to Stephanie (Brooklyn) who created them for her daughters and let the rest of us join in the fun!

Whoever (I think it was Terry) asked what program I used to make my the graphics in my siggie (signature box, below), the answer is MS Word 2004 on a Mac. And it is frustrating, but I can't bring myself to buy a program for graphics; never thought I needed it, but could have used it for these 2 cruises. Can't get a handle on clipart with Word, so I am a bit limited on what I can do.

Heather - are you and your cougar aunt flying together at all on the return?

No Lynne we're not flying together at all on the return. We're not flying together at all on the way there either but it doesn't really bother me being in the US. I've never flowen over the Atlantic ocean before so I wasn't wanting to do it "alone" the first time.

My mom was supposed to be with me originally but long story short my stepdad left her for another woman and then said he wouldn't watch their 5 kids so she could go and I couldn't afford to add 5 kids to our trip. So orginally I wasn't going to be alone on any flight.

All of the cabins have a fridge actually :)

It stated a "cold box" which I wasn't sure was the samething and when I called the CM said have your Doc signe the med form and we will get you a "real" fridge?? Not sure if it's the same?? Haven't done this before?? :confused3

I use an insulin pen. Is there a drop off point/container on the ship for used needles?

thanks T

If you complete the medical form you will get a refrigerator in your cabin to store your insulin and a sharps box for disposal of needles. No, there are no sharps boxes in public areas of the ship. Specify these needs on the medical form. The "Cold Box" is not a regular refrigerator. They didn't used to be very cold at all, but have been upgraded in the last couple of years. However, you're safer with a real refrigerator for meds.

I did a quick run thru the boards about upgrades (because someone said to me that only a very few 12s were getting 9s.)

I found...
12 to 9 16 cabins
12 to 11 or 10 11 cabins

11 to 6 7 cabins
11 HA to 5 HA one cabin
11 to 8 one cabin

no official anything to this, and any errors are mine.

Maybe I shouldn't have moved my 11 to a 12 (saved $225 that way). But then, I could be in an 11 that stayed an 11. Oh well, it really doesn't matter. I'll be on the ship for 2 weeks...that's great!

Hey, hey we got our room assignment with a slight upgrade 12 gty to 11 - room 6603!! Looks good from neighboring room reviews and close to elevators and laundry. DH would have liked to see more of an upgrade, but is okay with our room. Also, lots of neighbors to get to know!!

I think you are across the hall from us, we are in 6604 and 6606.

I promise I have not been 'Lurking' ....It's just that us men have very little to say unless it involves a pub and some beer....and in my case is usually doing his share of the Housework/Childcare/Homemaking tasks :thumbsup2

I'll drink to that! :thumbsup2

...I've never flowen over the Atlantic ocean before so I wasn't wanting to do it "alone" the first time....

My first time across the Atlantic was on the way to Africa - I was 26 yo. Only flights I had had before that were one-way, each under 2 hours - coming home from NC Outward Bound at 16 yo & from Washington, DC, at 23, after a Senate internship. When I got to Africa, one of the women (American) said she was so amazed that I would come all that way by myself. Never really thought about it - was there any other way, since I was single?

Nice to know you'll have Susan and Bill onboard. Although, after this cruise, you may be so tired you end up sleeping all the way home.

Yeah I'm just such a momma's girl I go most everywhere with my family because I'm single still. Hey at least I'll have my cougar aunt on the ship :rotfl: and all the other cougars that will be around.
