Each of us made the decision when to buy this cruise, what to pay, agreed to cxl penalty, to book GTY or a spacific stateroom. None of us should EXPECT a upgrade or spacific cabin if it was not origionally booked....

--I think most are on the same page with you. On the other hand, I think what some are concerned about is, as an example ... someone paying $1600 for a CAT 9 ... versus someone paying $699 for CAT 12 GTY - only for the CAT 12 GTY being upgraded to a CAT 6 Verandah. That hurts.

It looks like we can get a train from Cadiz to Seville for 12.75 Euros each way. I can take and 8:55 train out and arrive in Seville at 10:48 and then return to Cadiz at 6:08 and arriving at 8:04.

There is one leaving Cadiz at 8:05 AM, but that may be cutting it close.

Thank you for the info; I need to get on with trip planning. Several of us (a long time ago) said we would have breakfast and then get on the train to Seville together - and then each do Seville on our own. Now we have a target time for getting off the ship (well, for getting on the train).

We booked the April 24 Med sailing in December, and for the past two weeks I have been seriously considering adding the TA to our travel plans. Yesterday when I saw the upper categories getting their room assignments I put a Gty 12 on hold through Feb 24th. I haven't even paid Disney yet, and they assigned me and DS (6) cabin 7629 which is Cat 11, and seems to be in a good location. We are first time DCL cruiserrs!

Now I just have to confirm with DH that I can go without him. Every time I talk to him about it he sounds jealous that we get an extended holiday!

I was trying to put your information for B2B on the website the other day and realized you hadn't made a decision then.

OK, now maybe I'm scared. Is that empty space next to 6131 a laundry room? Do I need to call Disney?

I was in 6135; no, not a laundry area. This is where they put the luggage on arrival/the night before departure. I think they might store their cleaning carts in there, also. I was across from one of these areas in 5522 and found it noisy (during the day) but when beside it, the sound doesn't come around.

Purr? Wouldn't a growl be more intimidating?

My TA called Disney and said they are not giving us an upgrade yet because we have the same cabin for both cruises. I don't really want to have to change cabins but I will see if they offer anything good. Anyway all of us on Deck 2 will keep each other company at the bottom of the boat....

I would be interested to know if Karen and I are changing cabins between the cruises.

I do not understand the whole "upgrade" process. Although we are DVC, I have never used points to book a cruise. We are however CC Gold as are my parents & neither of us have EVER received an upgrade! Maybe it's because we always book a cat 5 out of the gate? Just doesn't seem like a very fair process to me.

...I am very happy for all those who got upgrades but I am very very frustrated with DCL....

And finally - I hear you! I said it feels like sorority rush - someone is going to feel bad. If I had paid more than I did (near rock-bottom prices - though not as good as CM - Disney employees/Cast Members for those unaware of this term - or travel agents) - I would be upset to see others leap-frog over me.

And about this forum: we rejoice with those who rejoice; are sad with those who are sad. But most importantly, this is the place we get to talk on, ad nauseum about all things Disney - when those around us at home and work are brought nearly to the brink of exhaustion or boredom.

As far us upgrades go, my husband was hoping for an upgrade to a full on veranda (booked a Nav veranda). When he had mentioned this several times.. I stopped him and asked if he would be disappointed if we got exactly what we booked. He said no but it would be nice. I told him to stop worrying about it. If we got one great but if not then deal with what we booked. We should be grateful that we were able to go on a cruise in the first place. We got bumped up from a cat 7 to a cat 6. Which was nice. But would I have been upset if we didn't get bumped up even though a ton of other people did. No. I booked what I wanted and so I deal with it.

I understand about people paying less then you for what they get. That does stink but it is the name of the game. I work in the hotel industry so I see it all the time. One person checking in could be paying $79 for the same type of room as the person next to them who is pay $219.

Just keep thinking 44 days until this will all be a moot point and we are all having the times of our lives!!!

1. I think those who booked 5's should have gotten 4's before those who had windows. Ginamaria you had GTY Verandah so yes yours was very much up for grabs. As for though the 8's and 9's getting 4's over those who bought 5's I just don't think is right. PLEASE don't get me wrong. I am THRILLED for all of you but I think they could have many twice as many people happy if 5's got 4's and 8 & 9's got 5's.

I agree 100% whit this Stephanie. Why not make the upgrades consistant rather than ignoring the people who committed the most money up front?? You are right, they could have made TWICE as many people happy if they did it in a more reasonable/ fair way!!!

The price will very based on demand, some of us were willing to pay more then others, that's ok.

I think you are missing Brooklyn's point. YES, I have always booked at least a cat 5 & YES I EXPECT to pay a cat 5 rate because of this... but after 8 cruises (13 if you count my parents) you'd think maybe, just maybe they would give an upgrade to a family that has consistantly paid top dollar for their cruises.

When I mentioned the 5's not being upgraded it was not so much for me. We got a military rate BUT those who paid TOP DOLLAR for a 5 and have 8's and 9's leap frogging over them just does not seem right to me.

We have connecting 5's midship on the side of the ship I wanted. I chose that and I am very happy with it. We also have one of those same rooms on the Med. Even if DCL was looking to upgrade people in verandah's I think we would have been at the VERY bottom due to the fact that we already had connecting midship, and we are keeping one of those rooms for the Med.

Ginamarie - My problem is that when I agreed to give up the OBC for the military rates I did so bc of the rate I was getting. By DCL giving someone who paid the same as me the same room type PLUS the OBC I just don't think it is fair. Am I letting it take over my life, cause me pain, stress me out....NO.

Thanks for the advice on having a moment with Jesus but that is a given in my life. We are a very strong Christian family and rely heavily on our faith.

I am SO GLAD that we have this. I have caught DCL in several LIES that I have been able to call them on because of knowing about things on boards. Like flight times through DCL, etc. I like it because it holds them ACCOUNTABLE and I can tell them BULL, I know!

---This is NOT ACCEPTABLE! Nobody should have to worry, or be nervous about sailing solo! With that in mind, after extensive soul searching (within the past few minutes), I have made an executive decision to accompany you on the MED. Accordingly, you will have no qualms about traveling solo!

I'm sorry you are feeling attacked. I can understand your feelings. I gave up an 11 (on deck 6) to go to a 12 to save money (@ $300). I've been given a 10 on deck 2. While I'm happy for the extra room, it does hurt to see others get higher cats or higher decks - expecially since my previous two cruises I at least got upgraded to a 9 (still deck 2). As I booked on the first day, I didn't get the 10% discount nor do I get an OBC (my TA doesn't offer those). It is painful to see 11's getting verandah's as I can't help but wonder if I would have gotten one if I had stayed with my cat 11.
But, I'm trying to remember that the $300 saved helps to pay for the hotel room in London (or on board charges either way). That helps to take away some of the sting.

I agree that it isn't fair, and you have the right to feel however you feel!

I'm just saying for myself. I can't get emotionally involved in it. There's too much bad news around me as is.
