Yay:banana: The more the merrier.....

Hey Dishey!... Awesome! Is there someone who is adept at this arranging? I quite frankly am not sure i'd have the time .. ( I am supposed to be writing a stupid paper right now LOL- justifying the break for lunch)

I am not sure how much $ it would save me, only being 2 (60) but if I know for sure there was a solid plan in place .. and it saved me a few bucks i'd do it. I'd still like to get to the airport with at least 2 hours before departure time...being unsure of the navigation of the airport and security in barcelona etc....

Thoughts?

I wouldn't even know where to begin to book a private van to the airport-- but I do know that there is no way it would cost me anywhere near $150! Can anybody that is more familiar with the booking of private vans arrange this? Again, there are 5 of us in our travel party (4 adults & 1 child). Thanks!

I would like to know this too. I have a family of six going in the late afternoon. We'll do some touring first.

Also note that if you book a separate flight in Europe (such as Barcelona to London only), it will have a different baggage allowance than if you book an international flight with a connection (Barcelona to London to JFK).

Thanks for that heads up!

I'm thinking I'm packing four 'regular' outfits, appropriate Palo, toned down formal/semi-formal, appropriate for London theater, jammies, undies, a wrap, a pancho and umbrella, a swimsuit and coverup, and as few pairs of shoes as I can get away with. Then I'll just do wash three times if I need to! :lmao:

Expect to see me in the same thing...a lot!

.

I feel like I'm missing a cultural reference here - someone, please tell me what this is! Thanks,
Ann

Nothing funny going on..Richard Branson (virgin airlines etc...) ownes a private island called Necker Island in the british virgin islands that he rents out. There is a limit to the number of guest on the island so that there are usually double the staff to guests. It's a totally pampering experience, you fill out a mutli page questionare so they have everything you would ever want or need for your vacation.

Well, ditto on those thoughts and NADA on any new ones:upsidedow Having never been out of the country before and not speaking anymore Spanish then I just typed I am quite intimidated by this!

Did I read a few pages back in this thread that someone was going to arrange their from the ship Port to airport transportation once they were on the ground in Barcelona?

I will say this to those traveling with more then 4 in your party, good luck! We are usually a party of 6-7 when most, not even all, of our kids are with us and we never get to share rides! :rotfl:

We did get a very reasonable taxi (we did have to wait for a large enough van to hold 6 of us) in Mexico for a round trip on our own from port to privately booked excursion and back without much trouble because there were signs everywhere with destinations and prices printed on them. Perhaps it will be similar in Barcelona?

anyone going to Paris after the cruise? How are going? Train or Plane? I need to make those arrangements soon.

Krisann

Same with me. In fact, I was thinking today of bringing shirts that I don't really want anymore to wear during the day and stuff. Then when the cruise is over - toss them. More room in the luggage. Of course, I'll have enough for my trip to London as I have to have SOMETHING on. :rotfl:

OMG...Here I thought I was going on a crusie that was going to be fun for the kids!
I'm excited by the SM, FE, magnets and now I find out out magent ears around the circle with the state room number. I should have started planning months ago!!!!

Now one more newbee question...what is a Mini-Navigator?:confused3

We will be flying home on May 5 - after the Med cruise and we have an 11:20 flight from Barcelona to JFK. When we did the Panama Cruise Disney had us at the airport in plenty of time.

If anyone is getting a van to go to the fountain we (John and Charlotte) would be interested. From what I read the walk is not "right around the corner".

Anyone that is continuing on from the TA to Med is there someway we can arrange to do something in Barcelona during the day -since the ship does not take off until later. I don't know if it is easy to get off and on the ship.Would we have to go through customs again?

I love all the graphics you people are creating. I am unable to do magnets but would love some of them for my scrapbook- yes I am one of those that saves everything=
I would be willing to pay for the cost of some of them.
My Pamama scrapbook consisited of two books and many, many, pages.

If you can print, you can make a magnet.

I print the picture I want on paper, cut pieces of magnetic plastic from advertiser's magnets or a strip I buy at a craft store, stick some on each corner and it's done. Today I took two plastic page protectors, cut off the edge with the holes for the 3 ring binders and put magnet pieces on one side in each corner. I will slide the paper with the picture I want on the door in the holder and stick it up.

:)

Should we REALLY expect to see you in UNDIES and JAMMIES (a lot)? I know there is going to be a PJ Breakfast ... but I have not heard of anything involving UNDIES!
:confused3

Now one more newbee question...what is a Mini-Navigator?:confused3

A navigator lists the activities taking place on the ship (or on shore) throughout the day. The navigator is printed by DCL and is for all passengers.

A mini-nav is a navigator just for our DIS group, detailing all the special stuff we will have throughout the cruise, the staterooms of FE and SM participants, etc.

:thumbsup2

OK .....I may do a little prelim investigation this weekend just to see what I can come up with as far as group transport...but I am leaning toward keeping it simple and keeping my disney transport (I may be a cougar in some ways...but possibly a chicken in others)

We are traveling back on May 5th after our MED cruise as a group of 12 and I have booked a private transfer. The company has a website, it is Barcelona-Airport-Transfers.

Haven't used them yet but all correspondence via email has been professional and prompt. Way cheaper than DCL transport. Includes one suitcase and carry on per person and they have different sized vehicles for different size groups.

...If there is still room, we'd like to join the 2nd FE group, who do I need to PM the info to? Also if the lanyard team still has extras, we'd like do that too.
...

I'll put you on the website list of cruisers and the FE.
Any of the following information you would like to share with us will be posted: first names, cabin # (or GTY, like so many), hometown, early (Main) or Late dining
We are using 2 nametags: one with running Donald (see below in my signature box) or without Donald - let me know which each of you would like. The lanyards are a gift from the Lanyard Team to all DISboard cruisers.

I love all the graphics you people are creating. I am unable to do magnets but would love some of them for my scrapbook- ...

...
With that said: SEVEN WEEKS FROM TODAY, FLYING TO FLORIDA :cool1:...

Shhh! Don't remind Krisann - she'll already be there by then. Although she's been planning her FE gifts for years, so she should be ready already.

The fun continues :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

ps. I am actually in class right now...SNEAKING into my disboards when the teach is not looking:rolleyes1..... I think I need help!

Don't you just love that philosophy?

That is my problem - 4 days in Paris and then one week in Austria - I will still need clothes!

Kids - were we supposed to bring kids on this cruise?:confused3 Nobody said Disney was for kids :hippie: Oh yeah I am bringing 2 of those things - but Disney has activities for them - DIS is my fun!

Did we mention we are a sub-culture on the cruise - people will ask you why you have a weird lanyard on or why you have all that stuff on your door - it is a secret society I tell them :surfweb: The internet will tell you the answer :cool1:

Thanks for the info - now the question to go find out is how much more do they charge for extra luggage. May stick with Disney not sure - of course I do not even have a flight out of Barcelona yet :)

Hey! It is still freaking me out that it is that close! I do have 2 suitcases already packed with detailed lists of what is in each one. I have all my "just in case" items (like sea sickness patches and other meds), sun tan lotions, have purchased warm coats that are thin, I have half of my secret mickey stuff purchased and wrapped (just need names to go with them) - I still need to complete my travel notebook with all my information. In october, when I went on a last minute cruise to finish my first of five books in my new series of Christmas Organizing books, my author assistant who I took with me and the kids almost died when she saw my travel book - said she had never seen anyone do that! (Yes I will share that in the workshop I will be doing because that is something I talk about - traveling at Christmas! and I will be sharing my book for this trip as an example.

Now back to pack some more things tonight after dinner :) I need to get a move on it :)

I feel very behind when reading this. Perhaps it will motivate me, maybe not lol.

I do have the FE stuff done but with my household stuff in 3 different states between two houses, two apartments and two storage units and the builder telling us two more weeks on our new house I just want to avoid reality a little longer.

In any case, sign me up for your workshop please.

Also thinking maybe we were on the same cruise in October. We took one last minute on the Magic, a Western sometime before Halloween and I think I remember you talking about coming and working on your book :)
