Well, I managed to make a no sew FE (haven't found my sewing machine after our last move) and it turned out pretty darn good, if I do say so myself. :cool1:

I found a 3 pack of little cloth sacks with handles at the dollar store. I pinned the handle of one to the bottom of the next and so on. I cut the Mickey head form out of black felt and glued one to each pouch. Then added our names with stick on foam letters, some Disney stickers, a red bow for my Minnie, a felt crewmen's hat for DH and a felt pirate kerchief for DS.

NOW we're all set to go!

Michelle2, I so sorry for you loss.

Please add us to the group for Bunco. There are 4 of us - Staci, Rory (Jr), Jay, and Rory (Sr).

How many pens will be needed? Just one per group? Please don't ask how I came about the pens (no worries, it was all legal, just a long, pointless story that left me with the pens), but I have a small stash of Disney World Resort pens (plain black ones with silver text). I'm HAPPY to donate the pens, I just have no need for them.

 Yeah!

As for the pens...I think atleast 2 pens for every group of 4. It will just make it easier at the end of each round to mark down peoples W and L.

Thanks!!!!

My mother-in-law was wondering if anyone was planning to get together to play bridge on the cruise.

DIVERSIONS (deck 3 FWD) - 1:00PM - SEA DAYS - BE THERE!

Board Games, Cards, Dominoes, Wii, Meet-n-Greet ... and they have a bar!:cool1:

It's an all-inclusive get-together. If anyone is looking for something to do ... stop on by ... there will be others thinking the same thing!

How can I get on the singles table group for dinner? I'm on Main dining....Kristi

My aunt and I are main dining too and might be interested in joining a singles table. I know she asked me one day if we'd be eating alone so I'm up for joining other people and am sure she'd be up for it too

Anyone want to join them in early (Main) dining?

There are reports of Fish Extenders getting stolen.

I've been on cruises where gifts were stolen....Woody

As I said, someone would report this as having happened.

Are we going to raid their room? or just treat them to a chivaree!!:lmao:

One of the creepiest things about the musical "Oklahoma."

...We have been booked since March 09 but haven't done a thing since. I just found the site late last night. ... Let me know if there is anything else I need to do or particate in with the group.

Do you and your mother have names, or are we going to call you Mom and me? :goodvibes

You can't have mommy; that belongs to mommyto3princesses.

Main or Late dining - and do you know about the program where they snatch up your children from the dining table and carry them off to play in the clubs while you linger over dinner?

Hi,

I'm new to the boards. So sorry to suddenly just to post here. But I'm on the EBTA, too. :)

I've read that DCL is giving out $100 per person extra OBC to the Med, Baltic and Westbound transatlantic. Does anybody know if this applies to the EBTA as well?

We have 4 cabins booked since this sailing first opened. And its already disappointing that we couldn't get a refund when the cat 12gty dropped to just $699. It would be nice if we can have an OBC instead...

Thanks!

I received a nice Christmas-time notice of the $100 OBC for our Med cruise, but nothing for this.

I have also called DCL several times about the drop in prices for the Cat 12 rooms, including just last week. Still no plans for any reduction in fare for those of us who have been booked at that rate for a while (the rate dropped just as we hit the 90-day mark, thereby imposing a $1200 penalty for any changes made to our reservation - yes, even to save $200). So I told them to cancel 2 of my future cruises and told them the price drop was the reason.

...and haven't heard about an OBC, drats!

Ok so here is an update on Bunco!
...

If anyone else is interested in playing please post! Bunco is going to be great with this group!!!

I think that the cost to play should be $5. It will make it so much easier to hand out monetary prizes vs buying gifts and bringing them.

...Anyone else means if you are not on the list on the website - if you are there, you had better be there. :goodvibes

Don't worry...you're not the only newbie with the same question. I missed the FE but am looking forward to the SM. Even hubby is excited! I, too, would like more ideas on the SM from the board's pros. Do the gifts go in the FEs? I always go overboard on these things, so examples would be appreciated.

To those just joining us, many of us have only been on this cruise's thread for a seemingly short period. If you had joined the post 6 months ago, you would have been talking to a lot of different people. The thread originator had medical issues and fell off from posting. Yes, there are those loyal ones who signed up early and are still here.

This is my second 7 day or longer cruise; both times the chatter begins a few months before the cruise date - we really have been going since Christmas / holiday events finished. Literally the next day.

My last cruise / 1st DIS involvement, I joined in Sep for a Halloween cruise, just scraping in for the FE (actually missed the cut-off date, but they let me in).

- Lynne

continuing with thoughts to NEWBIES:

If anyone wants to be included in FE, but missed the deadline, we can join you together in a group. The caveat is that it you just don't have as many cabins gifting you, so you might have days when there is nothing in your FE. But you still can participate.

And don't be shy - if you would like to participate, just let us know. Post it.

A list will magically appear on the website with the information you will need about names & cabin numbers.

DisneyHeather and others - if you are doing SM and don't have an FE outside your cabin - the stewards will place gifts in cabins.

auntlynne - Sorry my "Mom" is Diana.
We are doing the 6:00 seating. The last trip I took with the two kids they were alseep at the table before the food when we sat at 8:00. I LOVE the "snatch up your children" so I can enjoy one more glass of wine part.
Where do I post the photo of me and the kids to be posted on the picture board of your webiste?

Christmas Organizing Workshop

I have been asked by several people if I was willing to do a Christmas Organizing Workshop during the cruise and I said yes.

Here is what I want to do:

If you are interested in attending this workshop which will be about an hour in length I need you to let me know either here on the board or by email (akblair@charter.net). Everyone who signs up will get a free copy of my book.

I am not sure when to do the workshop during the cruise, I am a late night person so I would not have a problem doing it one evening at say 10 or 10:30 after all the activities are finished but that may be too late for some people?

Once we have a group of people we can meet up in the chat room and talk about when to do it.

I will go and add this to the front page in my extra slot - and Lynne if you want you can add it to web site.

Thanks in advance!

Krisann

Wow, this is awfully nice of you. I'd love to be able to attend if you can get it organized (no pun intended :goodvibes)

It seems that DCL is very inconsistent. Some people were able to get a refund, and others not. And some were able to get fuel surcharge taken out and not others.

According to the main thread, the OBCs were accidentally given to WBTA. But since the letters were already sent, DCL couldn't take it back anymore.

I've learned my lesson. I will not book a cruise on opening day anymore. I'll just wait for discounts after PIF. :sad2:

Welcome back!

Everyone, sorry I have been away from the boards for the last few days. We had to put our dog to sleep, and it has devastated me for a few days. But I am back and ready to roll (still hard to get back excited about things, but trying!)!

Final reminder about that the Secret Mickey questionnaires are due by today. I will get a list out of those I have received from so that everyone can verify that they sent it.
Thanks!

I am so sorry about your dog. It is such a hard decision to make. I totally understand you not being away from the board. I cried harder then than when my parents died when I put my Chelsea (dachsund/terrier) to sleep. On the advice of my vet, I did not stay with her. But she is with my parents now so I know she is ok. My thoughts and prayers for you and your family on losing a part of your family.

Kristi

I've flat out refused to ever play bridge with the family again (or anyone else) after a disasterous attempt to teach me the rules (apparently it matters who teaches you as to how you plan this game??), but she just loves playing bridge.
Thanks!
Staci

This sounds like me and rummy. My Dad taught me how to play and NO ONE I've met plays like he taught. And apparantly UNO rules have changed too from when he taught me. :confused3

How would you get the gift to the stewards or do you just leave it outside the door?

Kristi

I'm wondering about the OBC as well (will email TA tomorrow). When I changed to cat 12 gty, my TA told me part of my refund was the fuel surcharge.

I spent a good part of the day going to every store in the mall that sold jewelry looking for a cougar/panther pendant. I thought it would be a blast to wear one on the cruise. NO LUCK  Not even my zoo which has Florida Panthers had anything. Very disappointed. Oh well.

Kristi

Ok so here is an update on Bunco!

I just printed out all of the scorecards. I also have tally pads, bell and fuzzy dice. I have 8 sets of dice. Right now with the way the list looks we need at least 9 sets and probably will need more. I recall someone mentioning that they can also bring dice for Bunco. We will also need pens. I wonder if DCL would provide their pens?!?!?!?

If anyone else is interested in playing please post! Bunco is going to be great with this group!!!

PAM and I are interested in BUNCO! :thumbsup2 Sign us up. Is there a date time...should I be moseying over to the other web site to see, or has it been decided yet?

We did Bunco on the '08 WBPC and had a blast. Disney set us up in the promonade lounge (you are planning on calling group events, right?) during a period when no entertainment was scheduled there.

As far as the $ and cash prizes go, we just need to be discreet about passing it around. I seem to remember a cast member saying "I see nothing, I know nothing" so I don't know if there are 'gambling' issues/laws involved.

I like the idea of knowing one can just head into Diversions after lunch to pick up a game with fellow DISers. :thumbsup2
