Booking the Marriott was very easy on their site - no need for a travel agent - and they have a room that includes the tickets for one day for 2 adults - it was 289 euro. Not sure how much tickets actually are so not sure how good of a deal that is and it is a 2 night min - so tickets would need to be 100 euro each to make this a good deal. If not I would stick to the regular room rate (get a AAA card) and buy tickets separate. The marriott looks to be a wonderful place to stay - and their "sauna" has what looks to be heated tile lounge benches!

Disneyland Paris tickets are, according to their site, $67 for one day for adults, $57 for children 3-11. http://us.offers.disneylandparis.com/tickets/index.xhtml

That's about 49 Euros in today's exchange (for adults). If you just buy a ticket at DLP, you can get one for about 52 Euros. There's a few discount places available, although you may have to wait a while - the tickets they're selling now might only be valid until the first of April...and there might be a price increase. My "hassle" last year for traveling in April is that nothing was out yet, so we had to wait to finalize our plans in February/March...so much for planning that much ahead! Their calendar isn't even updated with the hours for April! :)

If you KNOW that you're going to do one park, you don't have to buy the hoppers, so that's some savings. If you want to keep the flexibility to try to see much in a short time, it's worthwhile to get them.

Hi Fellow DIS-ers!

I am so excited! I asked DCL about helping to officiate at their Friday night Shabbat services, as I am the cantor of a small synagogue here in central NJ. And I found out that all I have to do is go to Guest Services and talk with the Assistant Cruise Director when I board. So, I will get to be a guest cantor on the Magic! What a thrill that will be! I will be bringing my own service as they said they don't have prayerbooks on board. I am so glad I asked. And two months from now, we'll be on our way to MCO!! Yahoo!

Glad you are excited! DCL brings appropriate religious officiates on board only for special holidays; otherwise they provide space for "make your own services." They welcome anyone with appropriate credentials to assume responsibility for the services. This won't be one you'll forget!

You know, I haven't been to a synagogue since I was 6, but I may have to go to THIS service!

Welcome branose!:cool1:

I would at least read posts 1-15 on this thread ..there are links to the awesome TA and B2B Website AuntLynne made...on that website there are some folks who posted private tour plans etc...and I am sure they will also read this and contact you... but in order to communicate in a private message with others...you have to post at least 10 times... so you may want to do some little info posts about you and your companions to start... I think there is still room in a Palo group brunch too (last time I checked)....post away and good luck!

Thanks for the welcome and the info. I will check it out. I'll also search for the Palo group brunch. This will be the fifth Disney cruise for SWMBO and me and our first for this length. We have been DVC members since 1993 and, with only a couple of exceptions, have been to WDW every year for the past 35 years or so.

Dang, that sure makes us sound old. :guilty:

snow snow snow. . . 5 teens and adults home sharing 3 computers all week. . .I haven't been on much at all. *think* I caught up.

Paris! oh la la! Would love it! The Dh barely got the 2 weeks for EBTA off though.

Booked GTY Cat11 and still waiting along with rest of you. Really do not want an upgrade unless alll the way to balcony, any balcony so wondering how that will play out? more wait and see.

Fun to hear about extra activities on ship, imagined there would be but wasn't sure when we would hear about them.

All you mid atlantic folks, hang in there, hope you have power. We are in fairly new construction so underground lines for most part all the way to substations and tallest trees are just now reaching 20 feet.

My newest question is this. What does the water look/feel like at all of our Ports of call ('cept Castaway Cay, been there)? Is it all the Atlantic? Is it warm/cold? Can you see to bottom? Blue Green at all? Curious I guess. Before Gulf of Mexico I wouldn't have thought twice but after that and the Carribean? A bit spoiled I guess. Will DH and I be able to snorkel anyplace besides CC? Guess it depends on land temps too, seems more Spring-ish weather then our cold winter or actually hot summer? I did read the averages but looking for personal experience for these places.

I found the Magic Ticket which is 1 day/2 parks for 47 Euro (the 1 day 1 park is 45 Euro) the difference is that the Magic Ticket has to be purchased by April 1 and used within 6 months of purchase (the regular ticket can be used up to one year from purchase)

So for us we will do the Magic Ticket. Paris is coming together much better than trying to plan out London - if it was hubby and I only London would be easy.

Here is the info on the Magic Ticket:

Magic Ticket

The Magic Ticket is valid :

1 day _ within a 6 months period_ from 1 day after purchase

The Magic Ticket is valid for 1 day in the 2 Disneyland® Parks

Valid for any attractions, shows and parades (except for the Shooting Gallery and Video Games Arcade in Disneyland® Park) for one whole day. The ticket does not entitle to attend special events or parties in the Disney® Parks.

Details
- Certain shows & attractions may be closed, modified, delayed or cancelled without prior notice, notably in the case of bad weather conditions.
-Only open to private individuals.
-The price of this special ticket cannot be further discounted.
-Please allow us 10 days for delivery if option "sent by post" selected, mailing fees apply.
-Special Tickets are non-exchangeable and non-refundable.
-Magic Ticket (which saves you 15%) not available at the entrance of both Disney Parks.
Prices calculated on an exchange rate mentioned in our current Brochure/Sales conditions". The 15% saving is in comparison with the price of a 1-Day 2-Park Standard Ticket valid 1 year from date of purchase.

I may admire young men, but I do not want to get involved with one. I'd rather have someone closer to my age. Young men are cute, older men are handsome.

Kristi - Are you trying to put the moves on me, by calling me HANDSOME? FWIW - I don't know that I would consider myelf as being "older!?"

I've never been married either and I think I have the same sign. So, you must be someone I can sit with near the pool, in the bar (somewhere) - behind sunglasses and make comments on the men as they walk by? Of course only loud enough for us to hear.

NOTE TO SELF ... stay away from the pool and bars (especially when Lynne and Kristi are lounging around)!

We booked with DVC and will never do that again. I asked how much it was to upgrade from a cat 11 to 6. They said I would have to use 330 points for one person, pay for the other one and pay the $95.00 fee ... What time does the port open, so maybe we can upgrade then? Should we rent a car and drive to the port to get there earlier than the bus?

--Jennifer - DW and I have been DVC members since 1994 ... and LOVE to use our points for DCL. Remember that when you book through DVC, DVC is making a cash reservation on your behalf, and therefore, is able to rent out your home resort in exchange for you going on the cruise. DVC does not get involved with varying CASH discounts or SBC, with the exception of POINTS discounts booked within three days of getting off of a DCL ship. The $95 ADMIN fee covers the time it takes for DVC to call DCL to make physical / actual changes. This is charged every time a change is made, as it takes time (and money) to make every change.

You can take DCL transfers at the posted price (pp). Convenient, in that you never have to tough your luggage until it reaches your stateroom. If you are 2-3 people, it's probably best to take DCL transfer. If you have a large party, it may make sense to rent a large vehicle. Anywhere in the middle, and it's personal preference. If you are renting a car, make sure you can drop it off at Cape Canaveral, and get a shuttle to Port Canaveral (a little bit of extra time involved).

This has been a blustery blizzardy day! I did manage to make it into the office yesterday, but today we were closed again and tomorrow will be a no go for me again. This cruise can't come fast enough! We have been highly lucky and haven't lost power at all this week.

Hang in there Snow-bound DISers!

Last TA we stoped in the Canary Islands vs Madeira and it was in May but the girls did get into the ocean. I however would not. It was not warm enough for me! As for the other spots they were just not warm enough (well for me that is)

Today I was searching around for something for my DD's valentines for her class. I came across this and thought of you women! Here are a few princes for you guys! :lovestruc

Hopefully your snow has stopped we are unfortunately still getting slammed they say we should be just getting flurries around midnight or so. DH is outside again trying to stay ahead of it and clearing a area for the pooch. We have not seen this much snow in one season for as long as we have been alive, weather reports another storm on its way for Monday. :headache:

Sounds like our season last year we had a record 180 inches of snow. Much better this year.

Here's a piece of fabric I bought in Hawaii. Karen (16) was quite excited when I showed it to her:

She wants to make a dress to wear on the cruise. :lmao:

They're even predicting sleet/snow here in south Louisiana tomorrow evening through Friday morning. I don't know how y'all deal with snowy winters. We've had an unseasonably cold winter this year and I can't wait til spring begins. I won't complain even once about the heat and humidity this year!!

You crack me up. By the way - older is any man I wouldn't consider "younger". For now, younger is anyone under 35 (maybe 37) :lmao:
