Just checked the "cat 12 upgrade' thread and folks from the 3/27 cruise are reporting in. Won't be too long now before we may see some action! :woohoo:

Where exactly are our room numbers going to be listed? I used to know before the upgrade but now I can't see it. I know it's there, I just don't see it.

Ok we are changing plans - maybe - anyone going to Paris after the cruise? Are there any packages that can be added on to the cruise?

Went to buy travel insurance and realized I can't since I don't know what airline I'm fling on yet (but most likely American). Almost went ahead and did that, but didn't know how complicated it would be to correct. Since we just booked on 2/4 I have a little bit of time for the 'pre existing condition' window. Guess I'm just anxious. :goodvibes

I'm thinking DCL has sold a zillion Cat 12's and folks will get scattered all over the ship. Hope they notice we're 3 ladies and place us in at least a 10 for that split bath! :rotfl:Ah, there is always the lady's locker room shower, a spot often prefered by some.

....let's see...what else was I supposed to be checking on?.....

.

You can buy your insurance without knowing your air information. I did - I planned in how much I thought I would pay for airfare in a rounded number. They told me to just call in with if I needed to up it once I purchased it. They never said I had to give them all my flight details.

I still have not booked return air.

Guess I should at some point :)

But then again I have not decided when I am coming home.

If you aren't a first time cruiser you can log onto the DCL web site, click on Castaway Club, view your cruises and it will show all your cruise(s) with reservation number and stateroom. So one day your GTY will suddenly change to a number...hopefully within the next couple of weeks, but maybe not till the 30 day mark.

I think there is a 'retreive my reservation' option somewhere on the site if you aren't a CC memeber, just don't remember where it is.

Here we are ... (or not)

lets see if this one works

That is great! You are right, it should be soon!!! :)

Cougar, huh? :rotfl: Not me. I may admire young men, but I do not want to get involved with one. I'd rather have someone closer to my age. Young men are cute, older men are handsome. :goodvibes

Kristi

Yeah, and I've got 6 years on you and thought handsome. I'm no cougar or even a housecat. I've never been married & have barely dated. I think there's a sign on my forehead that says "keep away."

Hi Fellow DIS-ers!

I am so excited! I asked DCL about helping to officiate at their Friday night Shabbat services, as I am the cantor of a small synagogue here in central NJ. And I found out that all I have to do is go to Guest Services and talk with the Assistant Cruise Director when I board. So, I will get to be a guest cantor on the Magic! What a thrill that will be! I will be bringing my own service as they said they don't have prayerbooks on board. I am so glad I asked. And two months from now, we'll be on our way to MCO!! Yahoo!

I will have a house sitter for my house and two dogs. My ex-boyfriend is an ex-marine with a bad attitude and a gun. "I pity the poor fool" who tries to
B & E my place!
As for hacking, he's also a tech wiz. He can out hack them all!

Since you, Adrienne, and not DisneyConvert, posted this, can I assume we are talking female cantor?

Is the role of cantor a volunteer or staff position? Some churches pay their music directors (or ministers) and others rely on volunteer members of the congregation. I know it can be quite time consuming, selecting music that is appropriate to the liturgical season and the readings.

Does the cantor have anything to do with selecting hymns and leading a choir or is it more about singing psalms and leading the congregation in responses?

...I think I am wording all this in a way not to be described as talking "religion," but more about the activity that occurs during a meeting of people. I am not trying to proselytize (convert) anyone here.

Ok it is official we are changing our plans.

Instead of going to London we are going to Paris. Promised the kids Disneyland Paris. Anyone been before?

Disney is frustrating me because if you stay at one of the resorts you have to get tickets for everyday you stay - you cannot just select one or two days.

But they do have bus transportation to the resorts (around $200 RT for 4 of us) which would make me feel better than trying to find other transportation to the hotel.

now to find the cheapest resort for us all to stay at and plan our days to be part disney/part paris each day - maybe Paris in the morning/early aafternoon and Disney each evening.

more decsions! But it is seeming to be cheaper than going to London.

Now that's making it a Disney vacation. :thumbsup2 WDW before, DP after.

Several others have been to DP, including Woody. When he gets back from his Mexican Riviera cruise, I'm sure you'll get some clear answers. Until then, I bet someone else has some good pointers.

It has been a few years since been to Disneyland Paris, but they had express trains running between the resort and Paris. If I was you I would pick a day to do Paris and a day to do Disney since either would be a long day and you don't want to spend twice on the train wasting time getting between the two.

You could even stay in Paris and go to Disney, but never did this. We did stay in the Wildness Lodges (I don't know if they still have them) which were trailers but did not have, at that time the requirement to stay in the park each day.

You can do the major sites in Paris in a day, unless you want to spend alot of time in the Louve. The subway of Paris is fantastic for this if you are able to walk (I could at that time). Have done Paris in a day for friends in the early 90's but things don't change much (they have many years in the same place compared to the US) and when back for a quick peak in early 2000's things had not changed much other than cost.

Could give tips from years ago and you could verify accuracy. If you haven't travelled in Europe France can be a challenge due to language where in England you don't have to overcome that. You would not have the problem in Disney or the tourist spots. I did not speak any French but took it with eyes open and succeeded in doing any thing I wanted to do.

I've been there! But it was way back in Dec 2001, so alot has changed since then. I am very envious, if I wasn't going on the Med cruise right after, I would LOVE to go to DLP and Paris afterwards! One of my all-time favorite cities...so full of history and culture!

Haunted Mansion was especially eerie to me...alot more macabre than her american sisters, but I found it more intriguing. Also the best Thunder Mountain Railroad ride there. Those 2 rides seemed to have a little advantage on the american versions.

We stayed at the Disneyland Hotel and loved it there. We had our own private entrance into the park. (Didn't like any of the food though.)

I do agree with dertoyou...taking the train to and from Paris to DLP is very long and time consuming. I don't think I would do both in a day for a few days, that would be too much going back and forth and very tiring days. Think of travelling from WDW to Port Canaveral every day to and from.....It would be alot easier to split it up and do a day or two in DLP and then a day or two in Paris. That is what we did back when we went and it worked out pretty well. Just my opinion though! :)
