***Reminder to everyone***

FE deadline will be coming up on February 1st

If you do not see your name on the list on the first page, post #10, then please pm me and let me know. Also, be sure to check that the number of cabins, children and adults are correct.

We have a chat room!

http://chatroll.com/bound-for-barcelona

You'll have to register (free) and decide on a time to chat. And we can use it for a general chat (not just for lanyard purposes) if anyone wants to. Might be fun to have a few real-time chats before we sail! :thumbsup2

Anyhow, Krisann, you're all set! Let me know when you chat. I'm not sure if I have to be there, but at least for the first chat I want to make sure you can all get on OK. Also, on the off chance that someone finds the chat (though it is NOT publicly listed) and gets on to cause trouble, I'm the only one who can remove them at this point. Once you register I can make someone else a moderator and they will have that power.

Deadline for the Secret Mickey group needs to be decided as well so that people can be matched up. I am thinking a little bit later like February 15th...is everyone ok with this?

I can then get the information to the people that will need it the next few days after the deadline. That will give everyone about a month and a half to plan, etc.

Are any of the men planning on renting a tux for the cruise from the cruise line? Has anyone done this before? Does it work out - or should I just pack a suit?

:clown:

This will be the first time I'm renting a tux, and I did it through a link DCL has on thier planning page on the website. I hope it is okay.

:confused3:rotfl2::confused3:rotfl2::confused3

For the record....I really don't care about the color. I say the person in charge just pick and move on. We vote, then we discuss, then we change, and the cycle continues. make them Lime Green, make them pink, make them yellow, make them red, make them orange.....this could do on forever!

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 Yay! Stephanie has ok'd lime green! OK, Krissann, we're good to go!

Do I hear BLUE & ORANGE for the METS??? :rotfl2:

Uh, no, if anything they'll be red and white for "Go Cards!"

Reminder to Michelle - even though I'm on the lanyard team, I do not wish to be on the FE list. (afraid of not enough luggage space)

Dee, you rock!! I'm not too sure I can participate as I work evenings when most would be available. Krissann, you might still have to email me.

LANYARDS - Though I may have a preference, ANY color is fine (though let's skip LIME GREEN for sanity purposes). As with any organizational decision, whoever is handling the (any) matter should have the ability to make a proper decision.

SECRET MICKEY DEADLINE - Sounds good to me!

LUGGAGE - We're packing no more / no less than we would for a 7 day cruise, and will do some laundry. We will have one large suit case each, plus a garment bag. The garment bag will have dresses, and either a suit or Tuxedo. If you don't have a Tux, don't want to wear a Tux - a suit is a nice alternative - and is not asking too much. Feel free to rent a tuxedo, shoes, underwear ... anything you do not want to put on an airplane. Packing a suit, tux or dress is no more of a hassle, as compared to packing enough underwear for the vacation. Those who have attended conventions will likely recall shipping vendors available who provide packaging services to ship luggage, souvenirs, trinkets (etc) home. Regardless, my flight from Barcelona to JFK provides for THREE checked bags PER PERSON, plus carryon, plus one personal item.

INBOUND SHIPPING TO PORT CANAVERAL:simply package your shipment for delivery via UPS or Fed Ex (USPS is also an option, but keep delivery date options in mind). Address the shipment to: DCL Warehouse, 8633 Transport Drive, Orlando, FL, 32832. You will be required to indicate the following information on the outside of the box ... YOUR NAME AS IT APPEARS ON YOUR CRUISE RESERVATION, CRUISE SHIP NAME, STATEROOM NUMBER, EMBARKATION DATE, as well as a Packing slip. I believe there is another requirement, should you be shiupping prescription drugs. Telephone number for contact / questions: 407-566-8196

OUTBOUND SHIPPING FROM BARCELONA: DCL is currently in the process of working to establish a shipping partner. At this time, DCL does NOT anticipate having onboard PACKAGING services, but will likely be able to accomodate the need to ship a package from the ship, to anywhere in the world

Reminder to Michelle - even though I'm on the lanyard team, I do not wish to be on the FE list. (afraid of not enough luggage space).

I am not doing FE either. If anyone else would like to help with lanyards, just let KrisannB know.

And if anyone has a good supplier, let us know.

I would be happy to change my vote from black to red. I'm also willing to go along with whatever the lanyard group decides. I'm just happy to be a part of the overall dis group on the cruise.

BE OUR GUEST!

We still have some room at the Palo Dinner on April 16th. I have taken over the responsibility for booking and Dee has offered to help me with this.

Please let me know if you want to join the group. We are hoping to get the private room, but need at least 12 (have 11) and someone mentioned asking for Sylvester as the server (correct me if I am wrong).

I was the one who suggested Sylvester. He is one of the best! He has been our server in the main dining rooms, and we requested him for Palo's during the EB Panama Canal (9/08) and Tortola Eastern Caribbean (12/09). Of course, if someone objects to him, I would be happy with any server.

It sounds like we need JUST ONE MORE person ... but I believe we can accomodate up to THREE PEOPLE. I am sure many of us have been to Palo's ... but how many have been seated in the private dining room? It's one more thing to cross of the BUCKET LIST.

The 16th is a Friday, sea day, supposedly just before the new Villains show. I believe the time slot will allow us ample time to get good seats for the show. This seating will NOT conflict with the group Palo's Brunch, which I believe is scheduled for the 14th.

Page 1 reminder:

DCL typically offers various TASTING activities at a slight charge (booked to your room charge). Some of us have cruised many times, but have never attended a TASTING ... thinking we'd be alone, or feel out of place.

If you THINK you'd like to participate in the ship's Wine Tasting, Martini Tasting, Beer Tasting and / or Tequila Tasting(s) ... and would feel more at home if you could attend with friends, simply send a PM reply to sdlong329. Please include which Tasting(s) you are interested in attending, your userID, and your stateroom number, if known (indicate if you are a GTY). By including your stateroom number, you will receive an in-room voice mail reminder of the scheduled Tastings. You ARE NOT OBLIGATED to attend.

Since exact dates and times are not known before sailing, please keep an eye open in your daily NAVIGATOR for upcoming dates, times and locations. DCL often requires simple registration in advance. You will handle any cost(s) or reservation(s) on your own.

I double checked, and you are not on the list, so we are all good to go! :thumbsup2
I won't be doing the FE team unless they tell me that they want to be on the FE list, for those reasons. Thanks to all doing it!

My oldest (7) said, "I wish we could go on the Mickey Boat again..." I replied, "yeah, me too." They don't know about our trip. :yay: Then she said, "Yeah, I wanna go on the Dream." :rotfl2:princess::rotfl2:

I dont care what color the lanyards are, I would like to get 4 of them.
I have a funny story from today, we just finished painting the LR and my mom said to me "your not going to hang that ugly red mickey thing up again are you, it doesnt match" Of course she was talking about my FE. So I said "NO, I am going to pack it for the cruise" she said "for what" I said to participate in the FE gifts with my friends." She said "YOU HAVE FRIENDS ON THIS CRUISE TOO??"
Okay, maybe it wasnt that funny, but it sure made me chuckle. I love to meet new people the Disboards before we cruise. We have made some awesome friends each time we sail.

Michelle...15th for secret mickey works for me too

Dee...I PMed you a question did you see it?

I am enjoying the FE plotting and planning.... I think I may ship them to the ship before I leave....

Dena Very funny story!

Steve-
I sent you a PM...

Mrs. Woody and I are also having the "pack light vs. formal wear" discussion.

So, my questions are:

Do you think the Formal Night attire will be relaxed on the Transatlantic cruise?

If we don't wear formal attire, will we be out of place in the dining rooms?

Woody

Yes

And no

My husband will wear a suit on formal night...that will probably be his heaviest thing (barring shoes of course)

You know what Michelle, I've been thinking that maybe I should forgo SM. It would be sooo much fun but I'm getting worried about luggage :guilty: Please take me off the SM list (sorry, this really stinks! stupid trains stupid planes)
