This will be my first cruise, ever, anywhere. Too late for a practice run...
hope I'm not jumping off a cliff into the deep ocean.

Welcome to all of the new cruisers!

SquirePM, we are going on our FIRST cruise ever too... and this will be our honeymoon after the wedding! We're getting married at Walt Disney World and hopping on this Transatlantic cruise with all of you soon after. LOL :woohoo:Does that help you feel a little bit better?

I missed some QOTD but it was fun to read everyone's answers.

The FE deadline is close at hand and I am making sure the Lanyard Team is in place.

#1 If you want to participate in the FE but want to do a "group" gift - the lanyard team is for you - we are all getting together and giving this gift to every cruiser (FE and Non FE) - if you are on the "team" then you can contribute your share (right now at $30 - will not be more). You need to tell me ASAP if you want to participate to make sure you get on the FE list if you want to be part of the FE!

#2 I have had a computer crash this week and now a snow storm which means I cannot get out to get what I need to fix the computer (nor can Fed Ex deliver my parts) so I am trying to put my list back together - so if you are not on the list below and thought you were participating EMAIL ME AT AKBLAIR@charter.net ASAP!

I also just sent out an email through regular email and if you did not get it- that means I do not have your email address - so you need to email me also. Thanks.

#3 If your name is above AND you are doing this as your FE - please make sure your name is listed on the FE post on page one of this thread - if not send Michelle a message ASAP. I will cross check names but if I have your name and she doesn't I do not know your particulars for your cabins and she needs that info.

Please please email me at akblair@charter.net instead of PM me if you can so I can communicate with everyone.

Thanks!

So I have a 24-sheet pack of Purex 1-in-3. Even if I were OCD, I probably would not be able to use it all. If anyone wants to share, let me know. popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::

My family and I would like to link up with others for dinner.

We are on Main Dining and are:

Hubby - 39
Me (Krisann) 40

DD Ashlyn - 15
DS Aaron - 12 at the beginning of cruise - 13 at the end :)

Email me at akblair@charter.net

I have references from our WB PC cruise if you need them :)

Looking for some opinions please...

We are trying to decide which park to go to on Friday before the cruise. We can only go one day so trying to make the best decision possible.

We have ruled out the Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. No MK bc we go to DL all of the time and they are similar. NO to HS bc there is not as much for our younger DD.

So we are down to Epcot or Animal Kingdom. Can anyone tell me why or why not they would pick one of those two parks. They both have stuff we like.

Thanks for any input/feedback!

I am not the one doing the Question of the Day - but I have one:

Is there any item you will miss on the cruise that you normally have at home?

I will miss popcorn made on the stove with butter (eating it right now) and

Biscuits and Gravy - they have them on board but for this southern girl it is the nastiest stuff I have ever eaten! I will long for my fluffy biscuits and sausage gravy! I know Disney cannot be good at everything :)

DH Steven says: King size bed

<<BOOKED EXCURSIONS>> It appears as though the idea of compiling a list of BOOKED EXCURSIONS did not go over too well. The thought was to share which DCL excursions you booked, for possible inclusion in the Mini-Navigator, so others could see which fellow DISers are participating in excursions.

Since I have not received much response to this, it looks like it will be best to discontinue the compilation efforts. Accordingly, if there isn't strong interest, I will remove the FIRST PAGE content, which will be available for any other use.

<<B2B Cruise>> All this talk about B2B has made the two of us jealous! :hippie:
Unfortunately, DW cannot take 3 weeks off of work, as the bank would likely have to close (DW works at a local bank). Accordingly, we added the April/May 2011 LA to Vancouver REPO cruise to our Inaugural Alaska Cruise (5/3/11 - Disney Wonder). I have not been on those threads too much, as they are fairly quiet. I did see several DISers from the EB T/A are scheduled to cruise on the B2B LA / Vancouver / Alaska as well!
:yay:

My first answer is not Epcot - because we are going there and that would be one less family we have to share the park with :) JUST KIDDING! :cool1::hippie:

That being said - we have chose Epcot for the day because we I feel it offers the most things to do for our one park one day ticket. We will do the park, then go outside the park to eat and then come back to watch the fireworks that night.

Many questions...

What time is early vs. late dinner and how do I find out which one we are assigned to? (I am hoping for late since I think that will work better.) Is it possible to get DCL to change us?

With the fish exchange - how many items do we bring? I mean, do we bring 3 things or 4 things or?? (assuming an item for each person on list) but how many different things does each person usually do? Like, one day pencils and another day stickers and ..... Just trying to get a grasp on this whole thing.

What kind of temps are we likely to experience on the sea crossing?

Are any of the pools inside? I'm wondering about using the pools if the weather is cooler.

That's all I can think of at the moment - I'm sure more will occur to me shortly.

Main dining (early) is in the vicinity of 6PM. Late (2nd sitting) is in the vicinity of 8PM. On your reservation it would say Main or 2nd Dining. Yes, you can ask DCL to change your sitting. It shouldn't be a problem.

All the pools are outside. Sorry :)

For the FE, you bring at least 1 gift per cabin, for all cabins. If you want to bring more (or 1 per person), you can, but we decided on a minimum of 1 per cabin.

Temps can get to the cooler side on the Atlantic in April, so layers are probably your best bet. I'm packing a combination of long and short sleeves, some sweaters, long and short pants, and a light fall / spring jacket that's rainproof. :dance3:

I hope this helps!

Hmm...

I would lean toward Animal Kingdom because I think there is more to do for younger ones. My dd4 loves the Triceratops Spin, the safari, the Nemo Show, the Lion King Show, etc......and it is a park that you can easily do in one day and still get good night's sleep to get up and to the port early the next day.

However, Epcot has lots to do to. My dd's like Spaceship Earth, Nemo Ride, Turtle Talk with Crush, Soarin, Living With the Land, etc.... and the whole World Showcase is interesting. The Kimpossible scavenger hunt was kind of fun.

So, you won't go wrong either way, I'm betting.
