How does one sign up for this 5k run on the Castaway island? Do you recall how early in the day this run was? Definitely interested. Thanks for the tip.

That sounds amazing!!!!! We'd be interested in the 5km run around the island as well. Only problem is that the last couple of cruises I have brought my running stuff and after eating like a pig I have never once ran on the ship. Good intentions though. Maybe since castaway is day 2 I will be able to motivate myself

Yes, we always get off the boat.
No, we have not done any shore excursions. Once my oldest son did some sort of teen thing.
My DH and DD always go in the water, as for me, it has to be warm enough, and living in FL warm waters for me is at least 88 degrees.
Always the family beach, since we always have had the kids with us.
Some times we eat lunch at Cookies, sometimes onboard the ship.
The first few times, we stayed on the island most of the day, now we usually go back on board between 1-2. Once as we were going back to the ship, because it had started to drizzle, we saw a water spout. That was crazy.

Looking at a recent navigator it says they met between 9:00 - 9:15 in Diversions and the run started at 9:30. This say "with your cruise staff" so more cruise staff may have joined in.

Thanks for the info, I may join in this cruise. I find it hard to keep any kind of exercise routne going while aboard DCL, they just feed you non stop.
A 5km tour of the island sounds ver cool though.

Yes we do every time we are at Castaway Cay we get off the ship.

Do any shore excursions (parasail, jetski, Manta Rays?

First time we did Parasailing and it was awesome!!!
This is the only excursion we ever did on Castaway Cay, maybe we do parasailing again in december 2010.

Do you get in the water?

First time we went snorkling, second time we stayed on the beach.

Family Beach or Serenity Bay?

Both it just depends on what we want to do and see.

Lunch at Cookies BBQ, adult area, or onboard ship?

Both times we did Cookies BBQ, maybe we try the adult area this time.

All-day (or nearly) on island or hop-on hop-off boat?

Previous times we did all day.
We just got off the ship a bit later then we docked, just relaxed.
Then went of the ship and explored Castaway Cay.
We got back on the boat just before the mass went back.

Please send kind thoughts to my friend Jolie and Adrian. Her husband is very ill with Congestive Heart Failure. It basically could be any time or six months from now, but the doctor said Adrian will not be getting better. I'm hoping for the six months or more.

I want to thank everyone for their thoughts for my friend and her husband.

I'm going to fax inventory control tonight for the Palo Dinner asking for April 16th at 6pm as original planned. If there is a reason I need to change it to the 15th or 17th - then you need to respond ASAP as I'm going to fax it after I get off work (6pm). We have 12 so hopefully we will get the private room.

The only reason I can think of is if you want to experience the "new" Villians menu as that is "Villians Menu" night.

We have in the past: Jetski tour, parasailing, Stingray encounter, etc, but we don't do anything anymore. We just enjoy the beach, BBQ and play in the water, sometimes snorkel.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no

Family Beach or Serenity Bay?
Family beach when we are with our kids, and serenity bay when we are just adults, and that has only been 2 times for me. Mostly it is the family beach with our kids though.

Lunch at Cookies BBQ, adult area, or onboard ship?
Cookies BBQ, sometimes the adult area if we are without kids


All-day (or nearly) on island or hop-on hop-off boat?
Nearly all day on the island.

Can't help you with the Tapas - don't know what that even is

With the internet there would not be a way to do it ahead of time because you sign up when you sign on with your computer. But if you want to "pay" ahead of time, just place an OBC in your account for the amount you want to spend and know you have that part taken care of in advance. I keep adding money as I go to cover different things - disney doesn't know what my OBC's are for but I am keeping a list in my notebook so I know what I have already covered.

And the plus is - if you are using your Disney Visa - if you place OBC before you sail you get the 6 months no interest - unlike if you charge it to your card on board.

I kinda feel the same as you though I don't have Tea on the 16th. Just so every one knows, I'm going to ask for the 15th or 17th but be happy with whatever we get.

Linda, the reason your counter is not a link is because you saved it as an image instead of saving it as a link. The web site allows you to do both.


Joi, you can use http://www.magicalkingdoms.com/timers/stepone/vacation.html to create the ticker (there are other sites, you can Google Disney Vacation Countdown). When you are done creating your counter, copy the code in the BBCode box and paste it into your signature (in the User CP / Edit Signature).

I think there will be a few that will be giving out the lanyards as FE gifts but do not want to participate on the FE list to receive gifts due to luggage space.
