I saw the Best Western as the best deal too Brooklyn...although I eventually changed my mind and got a flight right home (DS has to go to school on Monday morning)

:welcome:

What is the best way to get from the port to the airport?

Also, our flight doesn't leave until evening--so we'll have some touring time in Barcelona that day, but we'll have our luggage with us. Any ideas about where we might store it? Any lockers at the port? Otherwise, any museums that might take the better part of the day where we might be able to check them? I'm think about doing the all day Monserrat Bus Tour (not by DCL since we'll be off the ship) with the hopes that we can could take the luggage on the bus with us and just leave it while we toured (not making assumptions, I'll have to email the company to find out if that would be possible).

Any ideas?

best way to get from the port to the airport - if you're comfortable w/ doing it, there is probably a city bus that you can take. We took a bus from the airport to La Rambla when we stayed there. You can always take a taxi too, just agree on the rate before you leave & make them use a meter...oh and take your baggage out of the taxi before you pay.

hmmm, what to do w/ the luggage....gosh that's a tough one! All I can think is that you could leave it w/ your tour company or you could use a locker at the train station, or you could drop it off early morning at the airport and then come back...none of those are ideal though :rolleyes1

A couple of the private tour companies were happy to take your luggage with you for the day it said so on their websites. There is also storage at the airport and somewhere downtown.

Just was looking around online, and Palo brunch was open for parties of 1-2. Don't know how long it will last, grab it if you can.

Both ships have now been converted so that the washers and dryers run off of a swipe of the KTTW card--$2 each. No need for quarters, but the doubled the price of a load.

This thread sure is active. Every time I look, I have 10 pages to catch up on.

QOTD Do you, as an adult, have your pictures taken with the Disney characters? If you do with your children, would you if the kids weren't there?

To the horror and dismay of DH (and probably DD), yes, I do. I generally get my character fix by taking a picture with DD, but if she refuses to have her picture taken with Goofy (how can he still be scary for a 4 year old?? I hope she's outgrown that by now), I will gladly step in for my picture by myself. On our last Disney cruise, I got separated for about 45 minutes from the rest of the family (I wasn't exactly actively looking for them, as it was the only 45 minutes I had without them...), and I came across Goofy - I actually posed for my picture with Goofy for the Disney photographer, and worse yet, later bought the picture. I told DH it was his own fault for not being with me with the camera. :rotfl:

It's snowing again here in Ohio----but you know what, who cares!? Why? Because I'll be in Castaway Cay in just 74 days!!!

Here in PA it rained like cats and dogs yesterday was 60 degrees then today it is back down in the 30's and had a few flurries. They are calling for snow storm to start this Friday and will run through Saturaday. Temps are only going to get in the high 20's. :scared: Looking forward to some much needed warm weather! :beach:

I hear you, High in the 40's this weekend and they are telling us single digits by Friday. BRRR 73 days

Approximately how early can be expect to be off the boat on the last day?

There is a flight I'd like to catch at 11:30 a.m. from Barcelona to Seville. We aren't going international, so we shouldn't have to be at the airport quite so early. If my usual super-light packing tendancies hold then we also won't have any baggage to check.

I am just wondering how early we can expect to be off and able to catch a taxi. Otherwise I will need to look at later flight (very expensive vs. the $50 early flight) or spend the night in Barcelona.

Many thanks again for all the tips, help, advice, and chat :lovestruc

Just caught up on all my missed pages. Wow, I miss a few days, and have a million pages to catch up on. LOL
Sorry if these are old topics. :)

This will be my 5th trip to Europe. I have been to England, France, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Denmark, Norway, Poland, Russia, Sweden, Finland, and Estonia. I love the history and architecture, can't get enough of it. I am excited to add some new countries and a new continent to my list!

Welcome back from WDW! I am jealous. How was it? I bet you all had a blast!

I think that the general consensus of the group is that you can go in with someone else to combine to do a FE gift, but it has to be delivered to everbody. Am I wording that right everyone? Alot of times I know what I want to say, but it comes out wrong.
Check post #10 and see if the adults and children in your 3 cabins are correct. After the deadline on February 1st and as cabins start getting assigned, we will start doing a more detailed list. Also, on the website it has a more detailed version.

Auntlynne, my son (DS7) is listed as a girl on the FE list of children. Just wanted you to know so that people won't prepare for him wrong. LOL

OK, I checked the list and it has the right number of people/adults/kids. Now who do I have to talk to about getting a lanyard?? I have been looking at the website, but I must have a mental block when it comes to that website because I can never find what I'm looking for on there!

For the TA you can leave at any time. People will be coming and going all night. BC the ship clears customs the day before the flight timing on this cruise is not as much of a problem as a cruise that arrives in port that morning.

If you are on the list you get a lanyard - you only need to tell us if you DO NOT want a lanyard. :)

OH GOODNESS JUST REALIZED I AM SIGNED IN UNDER MY DAUGHTERS ACCOUNT HERE - THIS IS REALLY KRISANNB!

ATTENTION LANYARD TEAM:

My computer went into fits today and I will be a day or two without my computer (which includes all my emails)

And then I downloaded my emails onto my daughter's old computer and forgot it was set to delete any emails that were not in her address book - so I lost any emails from last night till about an hour ago.

I need some help in 2 things:

1) - someone do a reply all to one of my messages so I can capture everyone's email.

2) if you sent me emails in regards to the laynards PLEASE PLEASE resend it - I had looked at emails on line before downloading and I know someone had sent me one saying they also wanted to be on the lanyard team - please resend!

Sorry for the trouble - I hope to have recovered my files later tonight but my email will be a different story.

Krisann

I just read this online...

Additionally, April 23rd is the only day of the year when the Palau do Generalitat, Barcelona's principal government building, is open to the public. Inside this Gothic architectural masterpiece you'll see huge displays of roses created to honor Saint George. There will undoubtedly be huge lines, so try to get there early in the day.

I am so excited! My FE came in the mail -- I ordered it from ilvdisney2008 on ebay. I think she did a FANTASTIC job!

Here are the items I ordered from CafePress. The city names are almost too dark to read but I think it looks good overall. I'm very happy with it :thumbsup2

If anyone wants me to post more detailed pics let me know.

"Wishes" fireworks at WDW brings tears to my eyes, too.

Sad to say, I had McD's for dinner tonight. Really wanted a tuna sandwich with cucumbers from Subway, just didn't find one on the way back to the condo. And we seem to eat more McDs when in Hawaii or England. Won't be surprised if we end up there in Cadiz.
