3yr old ticket

My daughter will turn 3 in the midst of our trip...do you they ever ask for age verification? Can we get away with the under 3 rule for a few days?

It is my understanding that you do not have to buy a ticket if the child turns three during your stay, only if they are already three on the first day you enter a park.

we're going for ds' 3rd bday also, my TA confirms he doesn't need a ticket because he'll be 2 at check in.
