3rd year in a row going to WDW. Should I be a DVC owner?

We typically stay in 1BR villas for 5-7 nights once a year. So we were thinking around 270-300 resale points for BCV originally. Now I’m wondering about something like 150 points direct at Poly and 150 pts resale at BCV. Thoughts on this tactic and doing either split stays at 11 months or waitlisting, etc if needed? I know the 1BR at Poly for 5-7 nights will be too expensive for 300 pts most of the time.

No problem with doing this as long as you're okay with splits, the 1BR should be extremely easy to get at BCV especially if you own there. If you go during the summer you may find you don't even need home resort priority at BCV for a 1BR but it's probably good to just own there if it's not debatable. This is when I'm planning to stay at BCV with my resale points since I'm pretty sure down the line I'll be forced to follow the schedule of our kids. Shouldn't have a problem getting one of the 1BRs at Poly if you're a little flexible on the view with home resort priority.
