Hi,
I am planning a trip for the 3rd week of April, 2008. I'm not sure if this is still considered peak season, or regular since Easter is in March next year. I have been looking at the hotel rates at Loewshotels.com and they are running about $249 to $299 a night (standard room) right now. Do the rates usually come down as the date gets nearer? This has been my experience in the past, but we have always gone in off season, never a busy time. I am hoping they will offer some decent AAA, APH or SS rates. Am I being naive? Should I just accept that this is as good as it will get that time of year?
Thanks!!!

Well, if it makes you feel better, I'd gladly take the $249 rate! The lowest I can find the week before Easter at RPR is $324. I'm definitely hoping for AAA rate!

Not sure which hotel you are looking at, but those rates sound like rack rates (we have $299 rack reserved in the summer). They should come down...AAA will be out first. You can book your room now at rack rate, and call and switch it to AAA rate when it comes out. OR AP rate, or whatever rate..... They definately sound 'high' for standard room....they should come down. :thumbsup2

Those are the rates for the three hotels (actually RPR is $244, Portofino is $299, HRH somewhere in the middle). I probably will book and then wait for the rates to come down, just wondering if I would be waiting in vain. Good luck on your rate, too!

It never hurts to book it now....that way you are assured of having the room...a lot of people will wait for the AAA rates to come out ...or the beginning of the year to start planning their trip.... If you don't get a rate you like, you have 5 days prior to arrival date to cancel w/ no penalty. They actually gave me the date on the phone that I have to cancel by to assure no penalty. You've got nothing to lose (except one night deposit right now) and everything to gain!) :thumbsup2
