3rd time at POR. Random Questions, Help Please!

This will be my third time staying at POR

We may rent a car for the first time and I was looking at the google maps satelite image of the resort. Never realized how close it was to epcot!!! Jeeesh!

I was wondering if there are any gas stations or mcdonalds or ANYTHING close to the resort that we can swing by with the car (or even walk! but it doesnt look like their are sidewalks)

no there aren't any side walks and the nearest gas station is prob the one just next to DTD. There used tobe a MD there as well at DTD but that gone now.

 

[Day-Day]

POR is great with a car. We use the "back way" to go to Winter Garden Vinland Road and then east to S. Apopka Vineland Road which has all sorts of places to eat and a Wynn Dixie grocery store. During a long stay, we save more money on meals using the car (groceries and eating offsite) than it costs to rent the car.

Its not "on the way" but its only a few minutes away from POR. We usually have plenty of spare time outside of the parks when we are visiting for a fairly long stay.
