Nah, more hotels and parking. Plus I don't believe they bought the garden walk rather didn't it go to citibank.

Would they build hotels in the city of Anaheim that aren't adjacent to a DL park?

True. Perhaps parking which they need. I almost a hope it is not a thrid gate. They need to improve DCA first. It feels way less magical than DL. Perhaps that it just my familiarity with DL talking. Either way I'm glad their is plans for improvements or expansion.

I like DCA a lot, I think with the pier redesign and WoC show that it will be much better. By the time Cars Land is done it will feel like a full park.

I've heard that the parking lot off of Disney way is going to be built into a garage. It will be sorely needed if DCA draws a lot of people this summer with it's new show.

The new parking structure is planned to be built on what is now the Pumba lot, on Disney way. I believe at some point we will get a third gate but its going to be a little while. Management has said they are interested in the idea of a third park but only when they feel the timing is right and they have DCA well established.

DL just opened a new parking lot where the Strawberry Field used to be.

Has anyone been to the Strawberry Field parking lot recently? I've read that they used to lease that land and now have bought it. Is the whole farm now paved? It will be needed all summer now that the last of the original lot is a construction zone for cars land.

Still though from what I gather from passholders the parking has been lacking on peak days. Imagine if the DCA attendance starts to rising fast as those extra attractions start firing up. I think the relative attendance DL:DCA is 15:6 million. The companies goal is to make it around 15:15. But if DCA goes up to 10 million similar to Animal Kingdom or Hollywood Studios. That's about 20% more people on a given day. The Straberry field won't handle this nor will the Pumba garage.

Yes the Toy Story Lot occupies the Strawberry fields. Formally the field had a couple small lost in it surrounded by the fields. I can see in one photo that the lot is now also occuping what was plowed land.

The last rumor I heard was when they finished DCA they would go back to Disneyland and open up a new area. I thought it said that Tony Baxter had a wonderful idea for a new land.

Was the new area called Discoveryland? I had heard that this idea that went in to Paris was formed as an idea for the current DL Tomorrowland.

Do you recall what you heard? I wouldn't be surprised if they made a mirror image of Toontown, going through the Thunder Ranch. I would guess it would be for princesses somthing along the line of what WDW's MK is getting.

Can't remember very well. It might have been Discovery land but something inside of my brain was thinking it had to do with Americana. Who knows? I'll see if I can find it again.

Here is an Al Lutz article about the possible additions of E-ticket attractions in Disneyland after the DCA makeover.

I think all it was was an arcade like area. "Discovery Arcade" Like what they have in DL Paris. That cuts thru from the right side of main street by the hat shop, thru to tomorrowland just to ease congestion. Not a new land. If my memory is correct :confused3

An arcade:confused3 I hope not.

IDK it's a real arcade what we think of as arcade. Here is a description or DLParis

Through the heavy wooden doors on Town Square or the open walkway from Plaza Gardens, you step into Discovery Arcade and a time of great ideas and great inventions. The boom of the turn-of-the-century gave those of the time a feeling that anything "can, and will" be achieved by man. Discovery Arcade pays homage to these great minds, from their ingenious yet humble patents to their wildest dreams of futuristic cities.
As you stroll along the warm, gas-lit arcade of wooden features and striking green ironwork, large, startling posters depict cities 100 years into the future, whilst in contrast, display cases house inventions and ideas from the most local, small-town turn-of-the-century visionaries.

There is so much possibility with the Big Innoventions building. I am not a fan of Tomorrowland at DL in general. So much wasted space. Bring back the peoplemover should be step #1. Another E ticket at DL would be amazing. If I can recall correctly I remember Walt dreaming of a Matterhorn type ride called candy mountain at one point. It would be neat to see them look back at what Walt had dreamed up in the past and act on it in someway.

Thanks for looking up the article disney-super-mom. It was fun to read it again.
