Looking for ideas for my daughters third birthday party in June. We live in a small townhouse so having something at the house would not work. We like to do things a little different then the same old, same old party. Lat year we had her party at a animal park and everyone had a great time. I don;t really want to do the same thing this year and having a hard time finsing something. I am looking for something besides a chuck e cheese or moon bounce party. Any suggestions would be great thanks.

How about a make your own pizza party at a local pizza place, a costume party at a tea room, a princess party at the hair salon, a dance party with a local dance instructor where the girls where tutus...

There are so many things you can do at three years old. :goodvibes

Here 4 parties we tried...

1. Don't know how close you are to the Children's Museum in Portsmouth or Richmond but we have done parties there.

2. Party at Zoo in Norfolk

3. Color-Me-Mine party

4. Young Chef's Academy (maybe a bit too much for 3 year old)

a lot of people we know do local dance studios--they are usually empty on weekends and so they are fairly cheap

we did this for my DD 4th bday party in our backyard but could easily be done in a park. It was a messy party. Had the kids fingerpaint, spin art, work with GAK, played with colored cornstarch and water. THeir goody bags were fun soaps, small container of play doh, small thing of paint tied in a small hand towel. Al bought in the dollar bins at Target. Her invites she splattered paint on a white piece of card stock then I printed the invite on a smaller piece of card stock so that her splattered paint acted like a border. Had the kids decorate their own cupcakes which was also messy instead of cake. I also bought cheap mens undershirts so that all the kdis could have smocks. Of course I made sure everything was washable paint. All the kids loved hanging all their creations and I still have moms talk about what a great idea. PM me if would like more ideas!

you could do what we're doing for ds' 3rd bday next week... a nice immediate family (plus g'parents) party w/streamers, cake, anda present or two... that's it... at three years old, i don't think he "needs" a party, and he doesn't really know enough to ask for one, and i'm not starting something that will cost me a fortune over the next 15 years to maintain...

after all, this is the budget board!

How about Build A Bear? That was one of DD's favorite parties and easy for me. No goody bags and we took cupcakes and juice boxes and had them in the food court at the mall. At 3 you only need a few friends so it shouldn't be too bad. I set a $20 limit per girl since we had 10 (which back then bought a cheaper animal and outfit or one expensive animal and an accessory). We had one at a gymnastics place, we also had a pony one year but we had a large yard, that was more expensive than going somewhere and a lot more work!
