3D laser-etched crystal photo cubes in Epcot????

We had these made on the Disney Cruise we went on 6 months ago, and I think I read somewhere that there's a place in Epcot that makes them. I want to get 2 separate cubes made, one of each DS, hopefully while we're at WDW. Otherwise it'll have to wait until our next Disney cruise in 2006.

Here's what they look like, does anyone know if/where in Epcot they do these?? Thanks!

I saw them at Imaginations after you come out of the ride. I think the exhibits are sponsered by Kodak.

We bought them a couple of years ago in the kodak imagination station. It is the exit for the Figment ride. They are awesome. We did a separate cube of each of our boys.

Thanks! How long did they take to make them?? On the cruise, we had to go back the next night, or 2 days later, I forget, to pick them up, but they definitely didn't make them up that same day.

We made one at the Imagination Pavilion a few years ago. I think we had it shipped to the room so we wouldn't have to carry it around all day. From what I remember, it was at the resort the next day. Word of warning though, don't buy the lighted bases from Disney. We bought one and it didn't last a week, then we were sent another one from them and that one didn't last a few weeks either. For the money, it wasn't worth the money to buy it from them. But the cube is so beautiful. It's actually my sister and I etched in front of Spaceship Earth.

As many have said to you . Imaginations has them. I get one every visit to epcot..

Our first trip will be February 2006 and this would be great for my 2 children. How much do they cost?

the one of my son was $50 or $55 I think..a couple of years now. but it depends on the size you have, and how many people in it etc.

The one of my DS is absolutely gorgeous! People are amazed by it!!!

A tip - we bought our first one of these at Epcot 3 years ago. The following year we had one made at Universal Studios. It was MUCH cheaper at US. When I queried it with the girl who was serving us she said that (at that time) Universal Studio were actually making the cubes for Epcot. Obviously it might matter to some people that they have their etching done at a Disney park. As it was only a head and shoulders shot of my son (as a present for the grandparents) we weren't particular about which park done it!

Epcot makes the etching there in the pavallion. It only took about an hour to get done. They have a machine that does the etching based on a very detailed photo that is taken.

We LOVE ours! We got the Mickey Head with the castle in the center , the kids in one ear and DH and I are in the other. Absolutely everyone that comes over to our house comments on it

Do they take a picture of you or can you supply a picture? I would rather have a nice backdrop that I took somewhere in the park or resort instead of a posed studio look, if possible.

no, they have to take the picture of you. Its a special 3D camera which plots a graph accross your face... A good picture is not the important thing.. it is whether there is enough light and shade and definition in the picture to make it a good sketch.

The backdrops if you want one (personally I prefer it without) are standard ones that you choose...

By the way, I noticed your location is England...love your country. I've been twice and hope to go again sometime. Once we were priveledged enough to eat dinner at Blenheim Palace.

Unfortunately the girl at US told you a lie. The cubes have always been made in the Imagination Pavilion.

wow TheIncredibles - how come you had dinner at Blenhiem? We live about 30 mins from there...

Our family owned (for 30 years) a very large Ford dealership at the time. Our sales were usually in the top 1% and Ford would award its top dealers very exclusive year end trips.

It was an unforgettable night. A month after we returned, I saw the Palace highlighted in National Geographics...in the magazine were pictures of rooms that I also had, and taken just a few weeks before. Really awesome!!

You can also order them at the MK in the arcade building next to Space Mountain. A friend of mine did this in Dec. they took the photo there she chose which style she wanted and was told she could either have it shipped to her room or come back and pick it up after 6pm. They did say they were made at EPCOT though, just thought I would add the MK location.
