39 hours on Disney property- A solo adventure

Great TR and congratulations on the race. I had never noticed the Mickey Head or Epcot on the Living with the Land tour.

Enjoyed the quickie report.

I was a swimmer too. With similar knee pain.:rolleyes1 Looks like a great tape job!

I am planning on doing the 5K this fall so this was great. :goodvibes

Thank you! I didn't finish my last trip report, so I really want to finish this one. And it's nice to remember the trip, it went by so quickly :rotfl:
I have never seen the Epcot before either, maybe it's new for the flower and garden festival? I don't think it was there last year, but it was a week earlier that I there. It was also easy to miss, the Mickey is right across from it and you can 't tell what it says until you are right in front of it.

Enjoyed the quickie report.

Hi fellow swimmer!! Were you a breaststroker? I did fly so I have shoulder pain also, luckily it doesn't hurt much while running ;)

Good luck on the 5k I heard there are as many characters out for that as for the 1/2, you should have a blast!

Thank you everyone for reading!!!! I have one more update-my last day in Disney. I'll try and get that up tonight after my run. Gotta train so I'll have something to write about in September.

IMer with Breststroke and Fly- the right side of my body - knee and shoulder have taken the abuse.

I have/had loose joints so really I am built like Gumby, everything gives which is not too bad because I do not break anything just sprain and strain which is bad enough. The tape is working so I will continue to forge ahead.

So glad to hear about all the characters. I need that to motivate me more.:goodvibes

Just caught up! You really did 4 parks in one day! You must have been so tired waking up so early the next morning but congratulations. I wish I could do what you did!

So after finishing, getting my (pretty, sparkly, so worth it) medal and my ice I headed out to the meeting area. I had hoped to see my friend after she finished, but I forgot to have her times sent to my phone so I had no idea if she was still on the course or not. After wandering around for half an hour I decided to get on a bus back to All-Star Movies. I wish I had stayed to see her finish but after reading about the traffic issues after the race I’m also glad I left when I did.

Once I got back to my room I got cleaned up and starting packing. My friend called to let me know she had finished and was headed back to the hotel so I decided to wait for her before heading to the parks. Once I got all my stuff packed I went to check out and after standing in line for about 15 minutes a manager started talking to me. And he told me that since I hadn’t had charging attached to my room key I didn’t need to stand in line! So off I went to the Magical Express desk, I dropped of my luggage and got my plane ticket. (I really like this service; it makes things so much easier for me). Then I dropped my carry-on luggage off at….bag check? Is that what it’s called?

While waiting for my friend and her family to finish packing I decide to wander around taking pictures of the different buildings.

This is me wandering, in last year’s race visor (the hot glue didn’t stand up well to the heat)

After meeting up with my friend for our congrats, goodbyes and victory pictures I found a bus and headed to the Magic Kingdom.

I arrived about 12:30. I headed to Tomorrowland to get lunch and ended up getting ribs and veggies (veggies were good, ribs weren’t)

Next I headed to Mickey’s Philharmagic. I guess was in just the right state of mind to watch this show, because it was awesome!

(anyone know where I can buy this?)

I walked past Peter Pan and Small World, both had long lines and I had a plane to catch in just a few hours. So I walked towards Adventure Land taking pictures of the sights along the way.

Next up was my first ride on the Astro Orbitors! I’ve been wanting to ride this one since my first trip.

It was also my last ride of the trip. I wandered about a bit more, taking pictures of the castle and shopping.

Goodbye Disney! I headed out at 4:06pm

Once back at the hotel I had some time to kill before the magical express arrived. So I grabbed some ice cream and (what else?) I wandered around taking pictures.

The ride back to the airport was uneventful; we pulled out about 5:45pm Sunday night. My flight was delayed but had movies on my ipod to watch while I waited.
I had an awsome time even though it was a short trip, I'd do it all agian in a heart beat.

WOW you ROCK! Four parks in one day and then run a MARATHON??? I really enjoyed your trip report :goodvibes Thank you for taking the time to post it.

Were the runners all women? Did most of them run the entire time? You are right to say your shiny metal was worth it. Congrats on quite an accomplishment! :yay:

Thank for reading!! The exhaustion didn't really hit until Sunday afternoon, although I'm sure I could have done better with more sleep.

Oh Thank You!! I have enjoyed writing this report, and will defiantly do another in September (which will also be a short trip) when I go run the Disneyland 1/2

Men are allowed to run in the race, but they aren't allowed to run in the first corral. (except if you win Survivor apparently...:sad2:)

Actually I would say that most of the runners were doing run/walk intervals. The first corral might have been running the whole time. I was in the second corral and it seemed like a lot of us had walk intervals planned.
