$355 more for Poly Concierge ~ yeah or ney?

I have a garden view room booked @ Poly and with my code discount called and asked out of curiosity how much more for concierge. It comes to about $355 more for 4 nights (5 days). That is about $71/day for 2 adults/1 child. Would you do this ? I know we want to go to a few of our favorite places to dine then adding that cost to concierge cost - is it worth it ? I don't know if I would just like staying at resort all the time to eat in concierge vs dining out? thanks for replies!

We are going for our first concierge stay in a couple months. We are DVC members, so this is a change. I am certainly not looking at it as a cost savings or even a wash by being able to eat in the lounge. I look at the convinience and comfort.

I am thinking of the lounge as my own personal living room to send the kid to when I want to watch Star Trek. I am thinking of hot coffee already made. I am thinking of going off my diet with obscene amounts of late night snacks. We are also staying at AKL, I do expect to spend at least one day at the resort. I also expect to spend an evening at the resort also.

I am certainly not thinking of it as a wise financial move.

I have only stayed in concierge once - at the Yacht Club - and in my opinion you will not really save much money by eating the food in the lounge. Our food selections were nice but were definately not enough to replace meals - except for breakfast of course. But the breakfast is just continental and I would have really preferred just to have payed for a hot breakfast but I felt obligated to eat the continental breakfast since it was just down the hall and free There were things like cheese, crackers, fruit, nachos, veggies & dip, bruschetta, mini corndogs, PB&J uncrustables, and desserts available during the day and early evening.

Also another thing to think about is the food is not available all day long. There are periods when they are switching over selections and there is nothing out at all except drinks. Also I noticed that once a food item was gone they did not replace the tray with more food. I am not sure if the Poly concierge operates the same way but I would imagine that they would.

That said concierge is wonderful - the pampering really does spoil you I just wouldn't consider the food as a real reason to stay there - I just see it as an added bonus.

The only Disney concierges that I've tried are the Polynesian Concierge Lagoon View and the Contemporary Tower Club Concierge. Neither were really worth the price, but we'd still stay there again. It's nice to have the extra level of service, and the food perks are nice.

We're staying at the Poly Concierge in Oct. We were originally staying in a Lagoon view so for us to upgrade was only 15.00 total for 6 nights. I've even thought about keeping the LV room and not doing concierge, but DH wants to try the concierge so I'm going to keep it. I hear once you do concierge though is hard to go back.

We just returned from Poly Con GV, first week in June. You will not save money doing this. We did have breakfast here only 4 out of 7 mornings. We had 2 character breakfasts & room service once. The brkfst is nice, they have trays to take it back to your room. We never replaced dinner, and only went there twice during the service. We did enjoy dessert & coffee everynight (except one). And took water before heading to the parks. The other perks we received were breakfast PS at CRT, EASY check-out (the bellman arrived in 10 min, the bill was already closed out, and our car was waiting for us). We also had our room request met. The location of the building is wonderful too, by the pool, and both monorails.
If you can afford it, it is very nice. But actually, I don't think we will do it again, just too much $. We did it this time b/c with the discount code our package went down $200 when I upgraded to concierge. (if I hadn't upgrade, package would have gone down $800) Next time I'll take the money!

I think it is worth it. You will have a small frig. in your room which would normally cost you $10 extra a day. The sit-down breakfasts (esp. character meals) can cost $10-15 per person, so even if you only use the lounge for breakfast you can save $30-45 dollars. You can also grab water and juice boxes from the lounge to take to the parks (and soda, but I wouldn't recommend it in the heat).

We were at the Poly Concierge Lagoon View in May and found the Concierge service to be worth it. If you figure the breakfasts, water, drinks, desserts, wine, cordials, snacks, in-room refrigerator, plus the added services, it is worth it.

Is it necessary? No, but it is a nice extra to have.

Our kids (4 and 6) were able to go down to the lounge for a snack whenever they wanted (they give you room cards for the kids use that can only open the room door). They loved that. Also, we ate our larger meals at the parks in the afternoon on many days and then ate our evening meal from the concierge lounge. We usually took a tray with food out to the pool so the kids could play in the water while we ate. This worked great for us (very relaxing) and, as an added bonus, helped save money.

Having stayed in Concierge at The Grand Floridian a couple of times, the food is NOT enough to replace eating out!
We are talking finger foods here....maybe breakfast could be enough here (muffins,bagels,toast,cereal) but I cannot think that the other food provided would be enough for anything other than nibbles.
Also, would you want to interrupt time spent in the parks, to hurry back to your hotel for food?
In my opinion....not worth the extra$$$$
Think of the great dinners out that could buy!

I remember reading in various places that the Poly concierge has some of the best food offerings of all the concierge lounges. We are very light eaters and it probably would be worth it for us. It is my DH, myself, and 4yo DS.We usually spend (based on our may trip) $14 on bf (food court), $25 lunch (counter service), and $70 for dinner (sit-down)- might just be a character dinner (add tax, tips, drinks and this is what it ends up to be). There was a code I was thinking of using (it was $234 for gv concierge) and it was only $50 more than a standard room ($184). Then we decided to do AKL. DH did not want to do concierge because he still wants to try so many of the restaurants and he would feel gulity not making the most of the lounge food offerings. I personally feel it will save you time and the frig and the water to take to the parks is worth it.

We will be staying Poly Conc. first time at the end of August and we upgraded for 4 nights for $200. $355 seems like a lot for what you will receive in Concierge. We will be traveling with 3 kids under age 7, we plan to breakfast w/conc. and have scheduled our character meals and sit down meals at lunch. We will also probably break every afternoon back at the hotel -- so an extra $50 a day seems more than reasonable. I think it really depends on your touring schedule. For us traveling with small kids a monorail resort w/Conc. seems to be a perfect fit!!
