35 weeks pregnant...

So my DH (then my fiancé) and I went to DH one time in August - I was 20 and in great health and a heck of a lot lighter than I am now. And I remember thinking the heat was brutal!!! Our oldest has an August birthday and every time he mentions wanting to spend his birthday at Disney we cringe remembering how hot it was there in August. So I'm having a hard time wondering why you would want to do this at 35 weeks pregnant??

It wouldn't be my deal at all. I think there are much better times to go, heck I would rather go with a newborn than preggers.

And I agree with pp on the GF, even though you didn't ask. We have ate a few meals there and my kids have never been impressed with this hotel.

Could you go during your maternity leave? I did that, with a 6-week old in September, and it wasn't too bad with lots of hydration, a sunshade baby sling, and making it a point to spend time indoors fairly frequently. The older kid loved it because he always got to ride twice due to baby swap.

I never would have been able to handle the walking at 35 weeks (I had PSD with all my full-term pregnancies, I always had to use a cane after 20 weeks. Another one of those conditions that you never know you might get until you get it.)

I'm with the poster that said that the Grand is for you, not the kids.

Sorry, no one year old will care that they are staying at the GF. Very few two year old's will.

Change your reservations and go after the baby is born.

I went at only 10 weeks pregnant in February 2015, and while we had a great trip, I didn't enjoy being pregnant there. I seriously cannot imagine entertaining the idea of going at 35 weeks. You couldn't even pay me to do that. :rotfl2:

If you decide to go later, after birth and contemplating changing resorts. kids LOVE the Beach Club's Storm Along Bay. It's convenient with a stroller to walk to Epcot. I'm not sure about how easy to get on boat with a stroller for studios. Still bus for MK and AK but the pool at BC can't be beat and the scene along crescent lake with all the happenings is very cool. We love it. I wish you the best your your baby number 3! :bday::flower:

I will be there next month at 28 weeks pregnant. But, I don't have any other children to care after at the same time - that might make me feel overwhelmed in wdw while 35 weeks pregnant in the heat. I have been to WDW many times at all months of the year, and grew up in this Florida Heat and humidity, so my body is accustomed to the FL weather. I will be there with my husband, brother and his family, and my father and his wife. So, they all know and understand the "rest" & hydration that I need. I just want to take a "Baby-Moon" and have fun with my family before the baby comes.

I think that your decision may depend on how you are feeling closer to the week of your trip. My pregnancy so far has been different with each passing week, between the nausea and bloating, although I have been able to keep up with going to the gym and exercising.

If you end up not feeling up to it, you can always postpone and go with all 3 kids. Maybe do something more local to you instead that could also be relaxing. Which ever you choose, congrats on your new lil blessing.

My husband and I just attended a wedding this past weekend and the MOH's water broke spontaneously at 33 weeks! A whole 2 days before the wedding. She managed to make it to the wedding and participate in everything! Luckily her parents live where the baby currently is, and so she has help. If that happened in Disney? Just terrible.

I would just worry myself to death with the idea of something going wrong in a place that is mostly unfamiliar to me. As I got further along in both pregnancies thus far, my tendency is just to stay home, which is very unlike me!

When one of my coworkers was pregnant she was planning a trip around 30 weeks that was a few hours by car and everyone thought she and her husband were crazy. However my logic for that was depends on where you live, the area I work (where they lived) is 1.5 hours from the nearest hospital with a NICU. They were going to be in DC. So if something happened in DC they would have been much closer to a hospital better able to handle a 10 week early baby then any hospital around here would.

My cousin was born 10 weeks early and the plan of hospitals around here for that case is to air evac the baby to a better hospital.

I would reschedule. I definitely wouldn't fly (even worse swelling). Between SPD and heat and walking that much.... Nope.

Also, consider that while your other pregnancies were normal, you will be stressing your body with a long drive (I am assuming that you live a good while away, and that you will be driving). The drive alone would make me say no. I live in Central NJ and my family is from NYC. Even driving 1 1/2 hours to visit them was pure hell. In fact, I recall sitting on a towel while we were approaching the GWB and having one of those big ole empty cups used for Sweet Tea at Mickey D's just in case I couldn't hold it.

Your body may react to being stressed which will in turn risk you going into labor sooner. I had my son in July, and I remember feeling like a beached whale the last month or so. There is no way I would plan a trip to WDW while 35 wks preggo, especially during the hottest time of the year.

I would absolutely not go! I have gone at 26 weeks before, but I would never go at 35! Everyone thinks their pregnancies and births will be perfect and it won't happen to them...I had two completely normal pregnancies and then had complications with my third and fourth which were not detected early on. My third child spent a month in the NICU when he was born. I wouldn't wish that on anyone. I can't imagine the stress and expense of having a NOVI baby out of state. Where would you stay? Would your husband go home without you?! My fourth baby had preterm labor issues. We kept her in there but I was on bed rest and it came on suddenly. Walking and dehydration can both trigger preterm labor.

Besides that, the end of pregnancy can be miserable. No sleep, soreness, painful contractions, etc, and each pregnancy really is different. I would never waste so much money on a vacation when I might be miserable. We are going at the end of my maternity leave. I would much rather go with a little one than when pregnant.

I went at 37 weeks pregnant in July with my 2-year-old and husband. It was crazy, but nothing bad happened.

I added my sister to our party last minute to help me out. Pushing a stroller was getting painful, because I'm tall and have to bend over a little for strollers.

We had fun. I just took it at a 2-year-old's pace. And, rode what the 2-year-old could ride. I sent my sister to ride coasters with my husband. No one had a bad time.

If the doc says yes, I'd go. Just be ready to cancel if you need too.

With my first pregnancy, I ended up on bed rest in the hospital at 33 weeks. There are lots of ways the stories go.

** while I haven't had totally uneventful pregnancies, but still went at 37 weeks, I would shy from taking my newborn to the parks.

My younger son contracted meningitis at 3 weeks of age. (All fine now.)

It made me wary of babies in germy environments.
