35% off recovery rate.....getting a view upgrade?

We have 3 nights at Kidani studio with a standard view through the covid-recovery rate (from the cancelled free dining, moved from AKL standard view) and then a separate (following) night at Kidani with a savanna view (booked room only back in late winter with the sun and fun rate). Does anyone know if we can "upgrade" our standard view to a savanna view and keep the discount? Better to call ahead and ask, or ask at the front desk when we arrive? In a perfect world we would also not have to move rooms, but that might be too optimistic right now. To be clear, I DO NOT expect them to upgrade us for free. I just don't know if this is something they are allowing....

And yes. I know I could call. But this is a mom and dad only trip and finding a time to make the call with no kids around is almost impossible.

It's better to call ahead and ask. If you wait until you arrive, they may quote you rack rate for the room. If you are able to upgrade, you can then inform the front desk that you have a continuing reservation for your last night and ask if you can stay in the same room for your entire trip.

Yes, you can keep your discount but you will pay to upgrade your view. You are allowed to change your date, room category (or even your resort) and keep the 35% discount so long as the trip is in 2020.

Just called today to modify my Recovery20 reservation. I was able to change my resort and room view categories, but not my dates. The rep said that changing dates would remove the discount. My reservation was room only at 35% off.

I changed from BCV Standard View to YC Water View. With the shortened park hours and so many things closed, I’m hoping to really enjoy some balcony time and the upgraded view. Plus I love the YC’s nautical Christmas decorations. Hope the train is back this year! ❤

ETA: I did have to pay a little more for the upgraded view, but kept the 35% discount
