Friday 1st June
Our last full day, breakfast again in the hotel lounge, the sparrows were getting braver now landing on the table to get crumbs, a very good way to clean up the mess. We drove to La Jolla to have a look around and parked up on the front and walked along the coast. We scrambled down the rocks to look in the tide pools, we saw lots of crabs, muscles and other creatures. We continued along until we heard a familiar bark, sealions were on some rocks ahead.
We got back in the car and drove to downtown San Diego where we parked in Westfield (they are everywhere) which was free for 3 hours, for our segway tour of Balboa Park. We were told there was only one other person on our tour and it turned out to be a photographer from the San Diego Tribune who was doing a piece on things to do in the summer. We started off watching this funny saftey video where a stick man constantly falls off. We then got to have a try in their paved area and it turned out to be pretty easy and we were soon whizzing around.
We set off for the park with our tour guide leading, it was basically a private tour so was great, and even better as i'd got it off Groupon at a much lower price. He took us all around the park which is huge telling us the history and explaining all the different areas.
