You'll have to lie about your flights to Disney to use ME. They won't let you board unless you give them MCO flight information.

I don't think this is true. We took a cruise out of Port Canaveral last year, and spent a few days at Disney post cruise. We took the cruise line's transportation to MCO and instead of getting on a plane, we proceeded to DME. When I made the reservation, I explained what we were doing and it was a non-issue. Every person staying at Disney is entitled to roundtrip airport transportation - they could care less whether or not you are getting on or off a plane.

You probably had a phone CM who was very smart and put in a dummy flight. when ever I've called they say they need flight info to book.

You likely had a CM that didn't know how to get around entering flight info. Many threads on here discuss utilizing DME either coming or going without a flight, so its worth noting it can be done without it. A flight is not required to ride DME.

Yes, the bad part is - they only have one flight a day going down there. They do have a flight directly to MCO, but that one is earlier in the day. Ugh. I guess I'll start working on a worst case scenario plan just in case. Thanks for the info. Better to be aware and prepared!

Shelly is correct. This was a concern of ours when booking. We are flying down one day early for a cruise and I struggled over trying this new airline out of Dulles. Since we bought insurance for this trip to include airfare, we figured if our flight gets cancelled we could drive to Reagan or Baltimore and hopefully grab a flight there. We are not flying frontier home since I'm not sure they participate in RAC and got a good flight price on united.

I hope I didn't make a mistake. I've been watching this once a day flight and so far it's very late several times a week and last night it was cancelled!

I actually did call dme before I booked the flight. I was debating most if the day whether to do it. He told me you do not have to have an incoming flight in order to use dme. It's only dependent on whether you have a resort reservation. I completely explained my situation and he said no problem. That was the deciding factor for me. I was going to drive right to disney but the rental car companies at that airport were not located right in Disney....or at least not that I know of...like Alamo.

National and Alamo also have a pick-up/drop-off location at the WDW Dolphin.

That is correct. you do not have to have a flight in order to use DME. each and every person staying at a Disney Hotel can use DME. You could use it to go to the airport to shop for all they care. it is one trip each way for each person on the hotel reservation.

Shelly - noooooooo - don't tell me things like that! I was so nervous about booking Frontier. We've only ever flown Airtran/Southwest! Oh well, what's done is done, now I just have to hope for the best. Thank you for all the rental car info - I actually have used Alamo at wdw before. What I was trying to say (not worded very well), was that the rental car companies at the St Augustine/Jacksonville airport were NOT alamo - if it was, I probably would just drive right there. I was not aware there was an Avis that close. It would probably get us to Disney faster if we just drove there and then took the car to the Hilton. I guess I can decide that later, but for now good to know that we can take ME. I was trying to do as much research as I could yesterday, but was a one-day sale and had to make a decision!

We flew out of Jacksonville to BWI last fall. We rented a car from Budget. They had Budget at JAX last fall. We have also rented cars from Budget and the office was in the bottom of one of the hotels next to DTD. That could be a potential option. Rent a car from Budget and return it at the office near DTD. They have taken/picked us up directly from our WDW hotel too.

it's not true...what another poster stated about needing to fly is not accurate at all. You are correct. DME could care less about your actual setting foot on a plane or not.
