$319.00 piece of toast

Are you sure she knows how to make toast! For that price I would ask.

Geez Louise! I don't have anything on my registry over $200 and 90% of the items are under $40.

Disneymoon04 - obviously you aren't doing it right then! ;)

Just get her a $50.00 gift card & let her buy what she needs.

That's exactly what I would do. Reminds me of my SIL (who I love dearly), but her and my DB are definitely yuppies and are into the who brand name game. SIL wanted a $300 stand mixer. Her mom jokes that she didn't understand why she needed such an expensive mixer just to mix boxed brownie mix.

Actually, the $319 for the toaster isn't bad but if you read the description it only toasts bread that cost $73 a loaf!

That is the ugliest toaster I have even seen, I wouldn't give you 5 cents for it. :D

Are you going to my cousin's wedding by any chance?
She's got the most ridiculously expensive things on her registry. And the sad thing is that she and her fiance have lived on their own for years and are all ready combining 2 well stocked households

Why she needs 32 wineglasses and 37 gourmet knives is beyond me. My Mother, sister, and I are chipping in to buy her shower gift.
Someone all ready bought her the $800 espresso maker

I can't believe the nerve of some people - No etiquette!
Registry lists should be a large range of prices. I'm with you disneymoon04 (same thing last year).

However, I went to a wedding/shower where the bride did the same thing...all items on her registry were insanely priced! I went out and bought something that was not on her registry and spent a lot less than I normally would have as I was disgusted by the greed.

As a bride who does have a couple things that are pricy (a kitchen aid mixer, down comforter) I would expect, if people so desired, that friends could go in on a gift together. The past two weddings I've been to, that's what my group of friends has done. That way, the couple gets what they want, and everyone spends what they can.

That's why it's called a registry. It's simply a wish list, and you are not required to buy anything from it. That said, it is bad manners to not have things in all price ranges listed.

It might be cheaper to take her out for breakfast for a year.

If this is just the shower, maybe you should take a second mortgage for the wedding...

My neice just got married in June. Thank goodness she registered at Target.:teeth:
