$315 too much to pay for rt at end of April

I have been watching air go way up and then down to about the 300's. I am not close to take one of the cheaper airlines or wrong dates offered. This $315 flight would be for 10:15 am perfect time to leave for us. What do you think. I only have to get three tickets.

I'm not sure where you are flying from, but here's my .02 worth.

$315 is a tad rich for my blood, but if the flights are on days that you want them, and the times are perfect, and you can afford them, then why not? You might do better, you might not.

I guess it depends on where you live and how much you want to pay. I live 3 to 3.5 hours from the nearest airports but I was also checking airports that are 6 hours away to get the best prices. I found $79 each way at the one 3.5 hours away. Works for me!

From Boston, we can usually get no-so-busy times for a bit more than $200 if we buy early enough. This late in the game however (less than 6 weeks) it is looking like your $315 is what the market is charging, and it will likely only go up from here.

I have been watching airfares from Portland Maine, for my Aunt who is headed down in early May. Up thru February, I could have gotten r-t tix at decent times for $216. Now when I am pricing things, the flights are a lot more full, and the price is looking like $400+ (with the full flights being the reason for the higher fares).

If the $315 fare from your home airport is at times you like, and is direct, or relatively direct, then jump on it. But really, we'd all be able to offer you a more informaed opinion if we knew where you were flying from and what times of day you are looking for. Good luck!

I too shopped around for the last week of april, I took into consideration everything since its spring break here in metro ny, all the southwest flights I wanted were sold out, We just fly airlines we get miles on etc., so we are finally going with american out of laguardia, and the best I could find was around $250 each, its a direct flight, but arrives 6 pm and blows a whole day practically for us, and coming home we are all over the plane, but it was the price, time and flights I could live with, so we booked it, The closer you get you might have slim pickins of the leftovers so to speak. I at least had 2 airports to deal with, possibly a 3rd but its really too far from where we live. Good luck.
