Hi all.
SO today I am officially 30 pounds down since i first walked into Curves.
My clippie reflectes when I found WISH.
anyway, along the way I have seen alittle change in my clothes (which I have posted) and I guess I do feel a little better. Maybe its just me but I just dont feel 30 pounds lighter......or is it I just can't imagine myself 30 pounds heavier. Have I gotten used to this already.
Another thing is besides one or two comments, I really haven';t gotten much feedback from others. I know this isn;t too important but it helps.
Anyone else ever feel like this?
IS there a certain amount of weight that you all lost before you really felt it and other really noticed?
I am happy dont get me wrong but when I say it out loud "i lost 30 pounds" sounds great!
Just not really feeling the effect!

Renee, have you bought new clothes in a smaller size yet? I think that's when people really notice.

I know exactly how you feel. I hardly had anyone even say anything to me. It was alittle depressing. I have bought a few new outfits for work because everything else was falling off and people really started noticing then. My big thing is that I'm so afraid that I will fall back into the old routine and gain the weight back. I've taken all my really BIG clothes out of the closet now. I'm determined! If I can just make it through the holidays. Keep up the great work. It is worth it!

I have lost 29 lbs since starting WW, 17 since starting WISH. I am in the same place you are. I have very few clothes that have gotten too big and not many people have noticed.

I look in the mirror and don't see much difference either. I have noticed that I have more energy going up and down steps though and I am able to walk a little bit faster without getting winded. These are the things that are keeping me going. I hope one day to get to the point of seeing and feeling "thin".

Don't give up because I am sure there are many positives that have come with your 30 lb loss and many more will come also.

If you're an apple shape, like me, it takes a while for things to look different ..... I just look like a slightly smaller apple! It's also a shape that is harder for people to discern changes in, I think.
New clothes is usually what it takes for co-workers to notice.

As far as feeling the difference.....go to the grocery store and lug around a 30lb turkey for about 10 mins...that's the stress you've takend off your body! (makes my knees ache just thinking about it...LOL).

Congrats on your 30 lbs (and a more toned body too!)

Go buy some new clothes - something that you otherwise wouldn't have worn before. Also you have to stop thinking like someone 30 lbs heavier. Don't buy baggy button down blouses - buy more fitted clothes, but snazzy pants, and shorter skirts. Tuck in your shirts ( I can't wait to be able to do this) I can lose 20 lbs and still be the same size in jeans but I'm able to wear tighter clothes.

30 pounds is where people started to notice my weight loss, but a lot of people are hesitant to say anything at first. Once I bought snugger clothes, (which I HAD to do at 30 pounds), more people noticed.

Now I have lost 76 pounds, and EVERYBODY notices. It feels great to get those compliments, but even better - I am wearing "normal" sized clothes, not plus sizes, I fit into theater and airplane seats, I can walk up and down hills without sweating and puffing, and my knees don't ache all the time. Oh, and my cholesterol and BP are down.

In fact, I feel pretty darn wonderful! I still have a way to go, but I am soooo much better off than i was ten months ago!

best of luck to you!!

When I lost 20 lbs after having my son, nobody noticed, but when I lost 40 lbs people thought I'd actually lost more. Same with my SIL-- she lost 60 lbs and we all guessed around 20. Unfortunately, the weight never seems to come off in the most obvious places first!

I feel the same as you do - I have lost 32lb - 28 of that on WISH - I long for someone to notice I have lost weight. I feel better in myself - I can move better and don't have the back pain I did - but when I look at myself I see no difference. I have not bought new clothes - don't need to yet - but I am wearing a few smaller things I already had that haven't fitted in quite a long while. But to be honest my old clothes still fit OK. I feel that with me sadly it may take quite a bit more to see a physical difference as I still have a lot of weight to loose. Still I know I am doing well & it is sometrhing to look forward to when someone does notice - how ever long it takes!

I'm at a 20 lb. loss and while a few people noticed at work - no one in my family has said a thing (not counting DH).

Part of it is that while I'm very happy with 20 lbs. and FEEL 100% better I'm not even at my first 10% loss yet (but very, very close).
I think it really depends on how much you started with having to lose. My journey started with 65-70 to lose so I think that is part of the reason.

It also depends on where you are losing from. The two most observant people at work (one of whom is on WW) noticed it in my face within the first two weeks. I noticed it in my wrist of all places as my watch now spins around. I haven't noticed much in my waist which is my problem area. I'm hoping that doing WATP will be helping with that.

You are doing great with 30 lbs. and even if no one has noticed yet the fact that you are feeling better is a great indication that your body has noticed! Keep up the great work.

I really didn't notice that much at 30 pounds either- besides everyone telling me they could tell it in my face (How could my face have held 30 pounds????) But I'm at 54 pounds gone now and I can DEFINITELY tell with every 5 pounds (from about 40 pounds on) there is a HUGE difference! My collarbones are back, I can feel bones on my shoulders, my cheekbones are back, I don't displace near as much water in the tub as I used to! It just gets better and better!!! This might help you see....I weighed 236 when I started WISH, well 10% off for me would have been 23 pounds- 10% for a 150 pound person would be 15 pounds- so the numbers may be higher but if you have more to lose it's still just 10% gone. When you hit 20% gone you really can tell 1/5 of you is no longer there!! and since I started out wanting to lose 41% of my weight (96 pounds) I knew I had a long way to go- just think I'll have lost a liddle ole lady! :) Give it time it SHOWS!!!

GREAT JOB ON the 30 mark!!!

Go to the grocery store, and pick up two 15 pound turkeys. Walk around with them for a while. See how long it takes before you need to stop.

We all always notice when we weigh too much because we see ourselves in pictures. It's certainly not because one day we decided: "Oh my GOD! I can FEEL how much I weigh!" And there's a very simple explination as to why: Because you didn't wake up one morning 30 pounds heavier than the day before. You put it on gradually.

The same thing happens when you take it off. It comes off a pound at a time. Unless you wake up one morning 30 pounds lighter, it will be very difficult to notice any difference.

So how DO you notice the difference? Take a look at some pictures 30 pounds ago. Usually, the last place we gain weight is in our face, and that's the first place we lose it. Chances are there'll be a difference in your face.

As you said, your clothes are becoming too big. That's another great sign!

And did you know that it's not always easy for people to bring up weight issues? Even if YOU know that someone would be paying you a compliment, for someone else, saying ANYTHING about weight is a very sensitive issue.

I've lost 164 pounds. I feel NO different emotionally than when I was at my heaviest. I'm happier overall because I was unhappy with the way I looked, and I can walk a lot faster, and a lot longer, and get upstairs without heaving for air, but I don't "feel" any different. And I really believe that's because I'm NOT any different. I weigh a lot less, but I am the same person that I was 164 pounds ago. I really had to acknowledge that. Even my family said "You're a whole new person!" I had to correct them. "You mean I LOOK like a whole new person." Because that's really the only thing that's changed about me.

You are the same wonderful person that you were 30 pounds ago. There's just 30 pounds less of you. :)
