Hi, we are a family of 5 2 adults and 3 kids, 7,5, and 6 months. How tight will the values be with a pack n play in the room. We are currently debating staying onsite or offsite.

TIA.

The value rooms are the smallest on WDW's property, but if you fold up the pack n play during the day you sholdn't have any problems with room to move around. :)

I knew they were the smallest room, but I hated to pass up the discount. We were just discussing this with friends the pros and cons of staying onsite or offsite.

I got mine in the mail and it states that it's non-transferable. This is the second or third one I've gotten in the last year, but the first one that I am even considering. I haven't been to Disney since 1994 which means my kids have never been.

We've stayed at value resorts with 3 children before. It is very crowded, however, we would do it again. We squeezed the pack n play between the bed and the wall. It was a a tight squeeze though.

I've only got one 3 year old... but I think I would definately be able to handle having two more in the room with me... You're only there to nap during the afternoon and to sleep at night...

Be sure to bring a noise machine if you find noise distracting, though... That was the ONE thing I really wish I'd had with me the last time we went. The sound of waves really helps to drown out the normal noises that people make when in close proximity to one another!

I'm sure the 30% off will apply to the All-Star Music Suites. Look into that. I personally am not familiar with that, but someone else on the DIS is (Linda - can't think of her DIS name) and she has a ton of info plus pictures of the rooms.

Pigletof4,

I think your original question was if you should take advantage of the 30% off savings and stay onsite at a value or offsite. IMHO, which may differ a lot from many people on this board, is that I would rather stay off-site than stay onsite with a tight squeeze. As you can see from my siggy, I will be making my first onsite visit this year, but I have visited WDW many, many times and staying offsite as a child and as an adult and I never felt any less magic or enjoyed the vacation less because we stayed offsite at nice hotels. On the other hand, if you are planning on staying onsite to use the DDP, then maybe the savings on food will be worth the money. Either way your vacation will be special.

Pigletof4, I also received a discount offer in the mail for a value resort, but I was able to apply the discount to make a reservation at a deluxe resort. When I called, the CM gave me a price for value, moderate, and deluxe. I was also able to get the discount for a package, including tickets and dining plan (the discount only applies to the room rate, not the entire package). If you haven't already done so, you should call and see if you could upgrade to a moderate resort. We originally picked Caribbean Beach Resort because the rooms are a little larger, but switched to Animal Kingdom Lodge because they offer rooms that have 1 queen size bed, and a set of bunk beds. The rate I received for that room worked out to $169 per night, including taxes.

Having said that, this will be our first time staying on property. We always rent 2bdrm condos offsite (most we paid was $266 for the ENTIRE WEEK through skyauction). It is hard for us to stomach paying the price to stay onsite and get so much less for our money, but I don't know if we will ever get the discount offer again and I would like to stay on property once to try the dining plan. You and your family will have a great time no matter which you choose.

I got one of the offers today, but it has a pin code so it can't be transferred. Most times the offers are written for values, but are good at moderates and deluxes as well.

Did you call to see if you can get a moderate with the discount? Our postcard said value resorts only and I called and got the B.C. 40% off.

Does anyone have any idea where these offers originate? I get lots of junk mail and unsolicited offers, am signed up on every Disney list I have seen yet I never receive thses types of offers. Any suggestions?

I second the idea of trying to get a suite at ASMU as well. The values were fine for my family of 3, but I can't imagine trying to fit 5 in that size room. You will al be tired and need your sleep. The suites also have 2 bathrooms and a kitchen; which could end up saving you alot with 3 kids to feed!
