I read about this offer a few weeks ago ($30 statement credit for $100 Target or Walmart purchase) and was thrilled to see it was finally added to my Amex card. I read that several people were using this for Disney gift cards at Target -- anyone have success with buying Target gift cards?

Indeed. My wife used it for a Target gift card and got the credit.

Yay! Glad it's being offered to more customers.

I've used it twice at Walmart to purchase a $100 gift card and it worked.

I also just finished using the BJs offer today and put another $100 of Disney gift cards in my DVA.

It's been a month and I still don't have the credit, Amex just keeps telling me they have 90 days to add it so I just have to wait. It really puts me off using the card and the benefits. Might as well go with a 5% back or Travel card.

That's strange and frustrating. I've never had a problem with Amex offers (I've used over $700 worth since Nov. '13). I didn't get my email for one of my Walmart purchases, but the credit showed up three days later.

Right? It's ridiculous, I feel like they're hoping I forget about them so I'm stuck with purchases I wouldn't have otherwise made. I keep hearing everyone getting their credits and it just makes me want to bash my head on my keyboard. I had a homedepot credit go through just fine but they have me twiddling my thumbs waiting on the Amazon and all 5 of my Target credits.

I agree. I got the email that I used my offer before I even got home from the store, and the credit almost immediately. This may sound like a stupid question, but do they have you online as having added the offer to your card?

I was going to ask if you had added the offer to your account, but it looks like you've done this before. But did you use the right card? Each card has separate offers, even when it's just a second card on the same account. You can log in and see your saved offers, and it should show that the offer has been redeemed. If you don't see the offer, or if it's still active, then you've got a problem.

I'll have to call and ask about this because it was used with a second card on the same account, but the second card doesn't have it's own login. When I asked about the Amazon they told me I had the offered added and that they see the purchase, so I just needed to wait the full 90 days to see if it's credited.

Thanks @supersnoop ! After an hour on the phone with Amex that's exactly what happened, I had no idea a secondary card on the same account would have it's own login and offers (I was never told about it and it was never set up). They manually pushed through the credits so that's a weight off my mind!

You must use the card you saved the offer to. So, if you have a secondary card on your account and they don't have a login, it won't count. You can create a login for their card as well. You might want to try this.

I once paid for something, realized there was an offer afterwards (I'm talking 10 minutes after the purchase though) and added the offer then and I still received the offer credit. So if I were you, I'd set up an account for the card you used otherwise you for sure won't get credit.

Edit: Just saw your post. Awesome that they were able to do that for you! Happy it's all figured out.

Does anyone have the blue cash every day card that does 3% at the grocery store and 2% at gas stations? Does that card get these types of offers?

On the plus side, you. An create a login for the second card and register for offers with it, too. It's a great chance to double up on the savings.
