If I want to give away a shift that would put me under the 30-hour minimum, would that be alright? I have crazy hours one night next week, but taking it away would put me at 29 hours and 15 minutes.

The minimum is just the number of hours they have to schedule you. Not the number of hours you have to work. You can give away as many shifts as you want...as long as you can pay the rent...

If you can't pay rent then they'll take everything you do have and the rest of it will come out of your next paycheck.

My daughter just got her schedule and she has INSANE hours next week!
