30 Days Until December - Where'd everyone go?

Months ago you couldn't find a room for the first week in December. Today it appears almost every resort has availability for our 12/05 check in. Was able to move to a standard view at Pop. I noticed ASM, AoA, CBR, BC, YC, BWI, AKL, WL all now show availability for normal rooms. I guess people were holding out until the last minute to see if discounts popped up, and dropped them at 30 days out. Paying full price is a hard pill to swallow.

We are about to pull the plug on our trip. BLT/AKL. yes, points will go into holding. DH ended up in hospital with AFib. I was hoping, hoping, hoping things would change. One Dr said can't fly. Oxygen on planes is lower, might cause an issue for DH. If we drove it would be fine. It would take us a week to drive. 2-3 hours is a loooong drive for us. One more Dr appointment and then we'll decide.

Packages are due 30 days out, theory is a lot of people wait until then to make the final call on travel and ultimately end up canceling. We’ve seen this pattern since at least Jul. Very limited availability for months and months and then 30 days out it’s magic. Lots of availability.

And when they all cancel, and cancel their park reservations, people complain about "Disney" overselling and adding more people in all the parks. It does happen every month.

FYI, there also was at least one travel agency with blocks of rooms that are past the booking date. So those unbooked rooms are back in Disney inventory now too.

Edit: several of those resorts were ones included with that travel agency.

Same was true of November, but you now have several choices even for Thanksgiving week.

Thank you - I was able to change my reservation yesterday from Coronado to French Quarter because I really didn't want to stay at Coronado but then this morning I was able to get POP so I save a bunch of money - over 700.00.

Except today. I have been waffling over changing my room only reservations. Last night there were several options. Today absolutely nothing works from the weekend before Thanksgiving to the Saturday after. I think something is up. I tried UT's website and they show rooms for Universal, but all the WDW rooms say their system is undergoing maintenance. I know that is a busy week, but it just seems fishy that everything is booked.

Today absolutely nothing works from the weekend before Thanksgiving to the Saturday after. I think something is up. I’ve been watching for the dates of our trip (the week after Thanksgiving) and I noticed this as well. 2 days ago, it seemed like there was availability everywhere. Now, nothing is available. I didn’t know if it was due to relaxing international travel, or what’s going on.
