My dtr will be turning 3 while on our DW vacation- so excited! I REALLY want to make it memorable and special for her. I have already reserved Cindy's breakfast that morning. Does anyone have any other suggestions for what their children this age love at DW? Does Disney do anything special for birthdays?

Make a note of it on your reservation, not only for CRT but all others. DD is turning 7 right before our trip, she is calling it her birthday week. I have it noted on all our ADRs, we are also stoping at Guest relations in the parks to get her a birthday pin.

I also plan on ordering a basket from Memories by Sarah, she did great on the one we got for DD in december! I also am ordering a cake for dessert, but havent decieded which night I want to do it.

Thanks! I'll make sure I point it out on all our AR. What is included in this Memories by Sarah basket? Do you just order from the website?

Before she had all the examples on the website I just told her what I wanted. She was wonderful to work with, it cost me $59 for:

Princess name Badge (engraving was free!)

Aurora

Stitch

Lollipop

Candy

Autograph Book

Stitch Magic Towel

I had posted a picture after our trip, if I can find it I will post the link.

my dd turned 4 at disney in november! she had such a wonderful time. We ate lunch at the castle and each of the princesses gave her extra attention! Then we ate at 1900 park faire for dinner! ( we ordered her cake from the GF) Cinderella brought out her cake and sang to her! it was the most amazing minute of my dd's life! ;)

remember to let them know at checkin that its your dd's birthday! they gave her a pin with her name on it! all day long people were wishing her a zippity do dah birthday! :) and when we got back to the room there was a card and balloons waiting for her!

Since she's turning 3 while she's there, will you then have to pay for her ticket? Has anyone ever brought a just-three-year-old in disguised as a two-year-old?

As long as she is two at the start of the trip, you don't have to buy a ticket. For ticket purposes, you are considered the age you are at the start of the trip for your whole vacation.

What about a 2 turning 3 year old diner?

My daughter won't actually be 3 until the day after we get home, but we will be celebrating her birthday while we are there. She's still 2, so doesn't have to pay, but we will get her a cake that says "Happy 3rd Birthday!" Is that okay?

If your child is 2 at the start of your trip then you do not need park tickets for them.

If your child is 2 at the start of your trip and you are on the dining plan (package) then they are free the whole trip as they aren't going to make you buy the dining plan for the child for the part of the trip that they are 3. ;)

If your child is 2 at the start of your trip and you are NOT on the dining plan, they will be free at restaurants only while they are still 2. Once they turn 3, they will be charged (unless you lie of course), especially if you are celebrating the meal with a cake as then it is very obvious that they are 3 now.

DS turned 3 in WDW in 2005. He got a special birthday pin at both MK and Epcot entrances (they were different pins). We had dinner at The Land character meal and they brought him a birthday cake with Mickey on it (also free). And the hotel left balloons and a card in our room (we had noted in on check-in but they forgot; a quick call and they brought them right up while we were at dinner) - also free.

nope, you wont have to pay.

My daughter turns 3 the day we check in so I am buying her a ticket,

So do you think it's okay to celebrate the third birthday the week before, while she is still 2 and free?

I know technically she should still be free, but is it classless to get a cake that says "Happy 3rd Birthday!" before pointing out to the server that she is still technically 2?

I feel cheap. :confused3

nope.. i would do it..

3 of my 4 kids have b-days while were are in FL. The 4th has it 4 weeks later. We are doing special for each of them.

We are also celebrating my son's 3rd birthday the week before he turns 3 (so that he is free). Don't feel cheap, from what I've read previously on the message boards, a lot of people do it.

My DD turned 4 at WDW in January. We did CRT for breakfast. The princesses signed a card for her at the table when they came through. They all paid extra attention to her. After breakfast we went to DTD to BBB. DD had a princess make-over. SO worth the time and money. They do the make-over then go to a building next door for a "photo shoot." After that was back to MK. Got the birthday pin at the resort. It said Happy Birthday Haley. All of the characters made such a big deal. Those that do not talk, pointed, and jumped, just to get a point across of Happy Birthday. That night was the Pirate and Princess Party at the Magic Kingdom.

Such a magical day. ENJOY! Take lots of pictures!

My DD2 is turning 3 right in the middle of our DW vacation. Since she is 2 at check-in, she is not included on our dining plan, but I also am feeling really uncomfortable with the whole celebrating her 3rd birthday and having her listed as a 2 year old. From talking to the Disney CM at reservations, she is still allowed to eat with parents even AFTER she technically turns 3 since we are on the dining plan. I'm not sure if it will be worth it, though, if I have to explain our situation at every meal. Especially since we will be doing a couple of special character birthday meals for her after she is technically 3. Has anyone else had this same situation with their kids not being on the meal plan because they were 2 at check-in, but dining after they ARE technically 3? Did you get any odd looks or were you hassled at all by staff? I don't want anyone thinking I am trying to cheat. I am NOT going to lie about her age. I don't want to pay for her to be on the meal plan, though, if I'm not breaking any rules. She definately doesn't eat much and I would prefer just to share with her or pay out-of-pocket for something special she may want. Also, I'm confused about what to say when making dinner ressies. When I ask them to note her birthday, they ask how old she will be. If I say 3, will they then expect her to pay or to be on the dining plan? I would love any input. I'm about ready to just pay and add her to the dining plan, just not to have to deal with the hassle so we can ALL enjoy her celebration and not feel like we are somehow cheating!

You are fine since she turns 3 after you arrive. She will eat free at any of the buffets. The servers are used to this. If I am not mistaken for any age under 3 at a table service/counter you will have to pay for anything you want for her, just as if she was over 3. So on the dinning plan at table services you will just pay oop.. or else share.

If you want to add her to the dinning plan you will also have to buy her a park ticket. My daughter turns 3 the day we check in.. couldn't avoid it since thats the day free dinning starts. I hated forking out the extra money but she will be 3. My youngest turns 2 on the trip. I will split my 2yo and 3yo's meals from my 3yo's credits at table/counter service. I hope that just made sense lol
