Do you think Magic Kingdom is the best park to start out with? We are going on a short trip and we are only able to do 1 park? What do you suggest?

Definitely do Magic Kingdom if you only have 1 day. If you can afford it, I highly recommend booking a Priority Seating reservation for one meal at Crystal Palace with Winnie the Pooh and Friends.

Measure your son -- if he is more than 40 inches tall (in shoes) and a bit of a daredevil, then he will love Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad as much as my three year-old did last week. Definitely get fastpasses for these as early in the morning as possible. If you've got a baby, ask a CM when you get fastpasses for a Baby Swap Pass and you could ride the ride with your son and then your DH could ride it with him.

My son also loved the Buzz Lightyear ride, Philharmagic, It's a Small World, Country Bear Jamboree, Dumbo, the Winnie the Pooh ride.

Use fastpasses as much as possible in order to avoid waiting in lines. Also, take a lightweight stroller -- we didn't take one for DS and he was exhausted at the end of the day and kicking his baby sister out of her stroller (DH got to hold the baby a lot).

I hope this helps!

absolutely YES! We hardly ever went to MK before kids.. now its by far the best place for them!

Yes, MK for sure! Make sure you read up and stay away from scary rides, though, like Snow White, and I hear that Bug's Life is not suitable for small children. Have fun!

Also, DS LOVED the racecars (Indy Speedway?). He got to "drive" Daddy around. Didn't even care that he had to wait in line for 30-45 minutes each time.

ABSOLUTELY! and i agree with the above poster about crystal palace. it is a great meal and the characters are so much fun!! MK is the absolute must do park with a child!! have a fantastic time!! :flower:

Definitely do MK. There is so much for a little one to enjoy there. I also agree with trying to go to the Crystal Palace. The food was really good and the character interaction is wonderful!

I think you should do MK last. For a three year old, I don't think anything else will be as much fun as that so I'd say save the best for last.

Our vacation is only for 3 days

My first instinct is to say YES! But, here are a couple of things to think about.

We tried to start DS3.5 (then) at MK on our first day. Of course, we had seen planning videos & the travel channel shows (I was on bedrest with my pregnancy, so we watched a lot of tv cuddling) on WDW. We rode Dumbo first, bought some Mickey Ears, did Mickey's Philamagic & he looked at us and asked "Can we go to Animal Kingdom now?". It turned out to be his favorite park (he did like MK & MGM); he asked to go back every day. So I say depends on the kid.

You might want to start with another park and end with MK, so he isn't disappointed in the other parks if you think it will be his favorite.

Oh so sorry, I guess I didn't read that part. When you said start out with , you meant start him out with, and I though you meant start the trip out with. Then I would say, definitely do MK. I have a 3 y/o and she is so happy she gets to do Goofy's Barnstormer at MK this time. I don't know how tall your son is but I think he will love MK either way. Have a great time!!
