Okay, we have decided to do a Disney cruise on our summer trip. I know you all have A LOT more experience here than I do in what to take, but I will need to convince 3 other people. What arguements do you all have for a 4 day cruise versus a 3 day cruise or vice versa. Is the extra day worth the $200 extra that it will cost? The other day would have been spent in the parks. Just so you all know, 3 of us will be there for 4 days in May and will do MGM, Epcot, and MK, and 2 of us will be back for a week in November. Can I hear anyone's opinions on this case? I really don't know what I prefer. The 4 day would be at the beginning of the trip and the 3 day at the end. Please help.

Thanks!!

The 4 day gives you a day at sea and is a wonderful addition. The 3 day is just so short - feels like you just get acclimated and you're getting ready to get off. Remember that the first day is the day you board, leave port, etc. So there are really only 2 full days.

On the flip side - having the cruise AFTER the parks is a lovely way to unwind. The pace is less frenetic than in the parks.

We cruised the first time on the 4 day land/3 day sea package. We hadn't cruised before and it was a good way to see if we liked it. The next time we did 4 day land/3 day sea (7 days hadn't started up at that time yet) and really enjoyed the sea day. We thought we would since our 3 day missed Castaway Cay due to Hurricane Bonnie.

When we started to talk about another trip the kids immediately voted to do a 7 day cruise rather than any WDW time. And it was wonderful.

Given that you're doing park time in May I'd probably go for the 3 days in the park and 4 days on the ship.

Good luck in whatever you decide!

We just got off a four day cruise last week. I would encourage you to take the four day for the following reasons.

1) If you comepare the total cost of a day at the parks, including the hotel, the extra day on the ship is less expensive.

2) The scheduled day at Castaway Cay is on the third day and the sea day is last. This really is a nice way to wind down the cruise. Even more importantly, this scheduling gives you an extra shot at making Castaway Cay if for some reason the weather does not cooperate on day three.

3) Palo brunch is now offered on the four day during the sea day. It is not offered on the three day. The brunch by itself is enough of a reason to go for the four day.

4) It really is nice to have the sea day so you can enjoy the ship. With the three day, you really only have two full days and you are in port for both of them.

We have now done the three day twice and the four day twice and I really cannot see us ever going on the three day again for these very reasons (#3 being the clincher).

If we fly, I like the 3 day so that we can have 4 days at WDW and then relax on the cruise.

If we drive, I like the 4 day because we can leave Friday night after DH gets off work and be at the port by Sunday when we sail. Then we have Thursday and Friday to spend at the park before driving back over the weekend to be home and back to work on Monday.

the 4-day is well worth it....25% more cruise for less than 25% more $.....

Hi New Yorker.:wave2: My sister use to live in Cheektowaga a few years ago. Our 1st Disney cruise was a 4day after doing the parks. This Aug. we will be doing a 3day cruise with our friends that NEVER been to the parks or cruised before. The ONLY reason why we are doing the 3day cruise is that it works out well for the week(10 days off). I like the day at sea on the 4day. I would never do a 3day(only this year), too short. Have fun.:bounce:
