3 TS in one day too much?

There are a lot of restaurants I've been wanting to try, and I was able to get all of the ADR's I wanted. :woohoo:
On my first MK day though, I have 3 TS meals booked (CM, LTT, and Boma). They're pretty spread out (7am, 1pm, 8pm), but I'm wondering if 3 TS in one day is going to be too much. Should I cancel one?

That would be too much for us. We rarely even do 2 TS in one day, we find 1 to be enough.

only a day or two out of longer trip maybe not. I now people try this with the Deluxe Dining Plan and find it too much food. They often skip dessert and some meals because they're so full. But if you're paying OOP and just have a couple of days or don't have that "paid for dessert hanging over head, I don't see a problem.

It is our first full day of a 9 day trip, so I may just go ahead with it. It's our only day with 3 ADR's. We're on the regular dining plan, and I purposely didn't make any ADR's for our last 2 days so we can do whatever we want without having to follow any type of plan.

I say GO FOR IT!!! :woohoo:

The restaurants at WDW have become as much a part of a trip as going to the parks. We have one day with 3 TS meals and everyone keeps going on about how much food it is...and I keep saying, but it's about the experience! :yay: Yours are spread out even more than ours- so I think you are just fine with this. Now if you do opt to drop one- my vote would be to drop LTT, but I still think 3 TS meals in one day is fine.

I found that it wasn't the amount of food that was too much it was the feeling like I was running from 1 ADR to another. The food is as much part of the experience as the parks, but the last thing you want to do is feel like you are stopping your fun to get to another reservation especially if you are still full from another reservation..

On my trip coming in May I just made 1 adr a day for TS.. That way I can do what I want for the rest of the day..
Some one did have a good suggestion for me.. for example.. I had my heart set on going to Sci-Fi for lunch as HS. Alot of people were saying the food wasn't great but the atmosphere was and that 50's prime time was better.. So, I made our lunch early at 50's and made one of the last adr's of the night for Sci-fi if we are still hungry we will get dinner, if not we will just order dessert and pay OOP..

I agree ... go for it! We sometimes book 3 meals a day, especially with a character breakfast. We just don't eat a ton at breakfast because it is for the experience more than the food. I love deluxe dining and want to fit as many restaurants into our trip as possible. Luckily we are planning 11 days next year!

No one is 'forcing' you to eat every course at every meal. We don't worry about maximizing our savings. We eat what we want and enjoy every minute!

There are 3 days when we have 3 ADRs. The other days, we will have an early breakfast at the resort (bring pancakes, etc. to our room), then have a lunch and dinner ADR usually around 12 or 12:30 and dinner around 6 or 6:30. When dinner is early, we have lunch at 11:30. We have 2 early dinners -- a 4pm dinner for the fantasmic package, and a 4:30 dinner on another night to be done early for the Christmas party.

Will enter HS at 8am for magic hours, would prefer a dinner ADR around 6:30 or 7pm. May try to change that.
9:05am - Hollywood and Vine
12:55pm - 50s Prime Time
6:00pm - Artist Point (I'd rather eat a little later)

Will enter AK early for breakfast (before park opens at 9). These meals are paced well for us. We might leave AK a little earlier to arrive to Narcoosees at 7pm and see if can be seated then. If not, we will walk back to the lobby and enjoy some music for a bit. Timing Narcoosees for a view of the fireworks at 8pm.
8:05am - Tusker House
1:00pm - Yak and Yeti
7:30pm - Narcoosees

We will try to arrive at Ohana earlier and get seated around 8am, but 8:40 gives us a little more time to get there. 5:45 is a little early for California Grill, but I'm anticipating a possible wait of 20 or so minutes. If we decide to cancel the breakfast, we will probably arrive to San Angel Inn earlier.
8:40am - Ohana
12:50pm - San Angel Inn
5:45pm - California Grill

For us it would be to much. We are on the DDP and do a late breakfast (character and sit down) and do a signature restaurant in the evening. For lunch all we need is a snack. And I like to sit down in the evening and have a nice meal, specially with a small child. Fou us it was worth to upgrade to DDP because we want to surprise ds with the character breakfasts and reward ourselves with signature dining after a long day. We love good food.
I would be afraid that the kids would not like to sit down for three meals a day or spend time to travel from ADR to ADR. I reserved restaurants in or near the park we are visiting that day.

You have 9 days so just consider this your "dining day". Just relax and enjoy. It will feel like your doing alot of eating but for us part of the fun is doing new things.

IMO, yes.

I hate to plan our days around ADR's. I get that you want to go to all those places, but space them out over a few days if you can.

I agree... DS4 did not want to sit down for lunch in the parks... unless it was a fun character place like Crystal Palace. But after a long day in the parks, DS was tired and perfectly happy to sit for a 1 1/2 hour signature dinner. In between courses, I'd take DS for a short break --- at Narcoosees on the deck to look at the water, at Citricos to walk in the lobby for a minute, at California Grill to look out from the observation deck outside. It worked.

We have a lunch and dinner on our arrival day, and a breakfast and lunch on our departure day... so that uses up some credits. We don't prefer breakfast unless it's a character meal... DS usually just eats cereal (we bring from home) and we are happy with coffee and splitting a $6 food court breakfast in our room while getting ready. We like to hit the parks early whenever possible.

If you are just going to do this one day, then maybe not. But if you had 3 TS a day every day, then yes it is a lot. We get the deluxe plan which gives you 3 TS a day but we only do 2, an early 1 credit TS lunch and a 2 credit TS for dinner (usually), we'll have a TS breakfast the last day and maybe loose a few credits but still make out money wise anyway.
We are big eaters and sometimes we are very full depending on what we ate during the day. I couldn't imagine 3 TS meals, and one of them being a buffet, let alone 2 of them being a buffet like you have. It will probably be a lot of food actually having 2 buffets & a TS one day.

we do 3 sitdown meals, we do it at home....my son has a hot breakfast, we use lunchtime as a downtime and he likes TS food better than the selection for CS and we have a sit down dinner or room service. He is good a restaurants but if he is too tired for that day we eat in the room.

Two of these are buffets (CM and Boma), so I am going to say yes, that is too much for one day. If you are on the deluxe dining plan (and most people who book meals this way are), you're looking at appetizer, entree and dessert for lunch. I would cancel the lunch and have CS or a snack.

with the ages of your kids and this being your first full day...I'd say it is too much. This is my opinion based on many many many disney trips. You will be getting up very early after a long travel day...then expecting the kids to hang til 8pm for dinner. Can you do it??? of course, but I don't think it will be fun.

All I can say is good luck trying :lmao:. They give you so much food you might explode.
We had a hard enough time eating all the regular dinning credits.

Only you can answer that based on how and how much your family eats. You've spaced the ressies out well but it does make for a long day for your younger kids, on the other hand the restaurant times make for nice breaks.

Two of the ressies are buffets which means you have ultimate portion control and can eat as much or as little as you want without wasting food and you can generally get in and out of buffets faster. If the restaurant experience is what you're after then, no I don't think it's too much. If dining value is what you're after then for me, it would be too much.

You were smart too I think to do it on your first day as everyone tends to have more stamina for long days at the beginning of a trip.

where are you staying...cuz that's a super LONG day unless you're staying at Contemporary Resort. Otherwise, if you're driving your own car, you'll have to be getting up around 6 a.m. to get to Chef Mickey's for a 7 a.m. reservation. If you're taking Disney transportation not even sure you can get there by 7 a.m.? And then you're still going at 8 p.m. to get to Boma (again, do you have your own car? Because if not, it's not easy to go from resort to resort...you'll have to bus to TTC or a park & then take a bus to AKL.) Either way, lots of travel time.

Now if you are staying in the CR Tower, then the breakfast & lunch arrangements make sense, especially if you're going to be at MK that day anyway.

I would not try to do 3 meals with kids...a lot of travel time/ a lot of coming & going. We've done 3 meals a day a few times, and every time we've said Never Again. It's a lot of food, even spaced out 5-6 hours.
