3 Standard BWV Studio's... Can this be done?

I am trying to plan a big surprise family trip March of 2020. We are going to use our points and book rooms for our family. I really would like 3 standard studios to keep the points down. What are the chances that I am going to be able to pull this off. I plan to be online right at opening to book.

Walk the 1st one starting a few days ahead. Book the 2nd one immediately on 11 mo. mark. Be willing to pay for P/G on #3 and waitlist standard.

We have gotten 2 at a time the last 2 years during busy times, but had to walk one.

March availability looks pretty good historically, so you'll probably be fine doing it all the same morning, but generally seems stressful on top of planning a huge trip for family. Make it easier on yourself! Definitely have the points in your account to pay for 1 P/G (again - to reduce the stress!).

Okay, thank you for this the great info. I plan to make sure all our points are banked and borrowed before the day I need to book. Don't want to mess around with that for sure. I have never walked a ressie so that is all new to me. Yes very stressful for sure. Last thing, I can book 3 rooms or even 2 at the same time online correct?

You have to book 1 and then search again to book the other, etc. Just put the lead name on each room and complete the booking. Then you can go back and fill in all the guests later. It will go faster that way.

If you are borrowing (I don't think you can borrow ahead of time...?) be careful if you end up needing to book the P/G and waitlist a standard, you will want to make sure you think about what will happen to the points if your waitlist comes through. Hopefully you just get the standard and are done!

That's why I'd walk the 1st room (just book it for a few days before you need it for as many nights as you can without exceeding the points you will need for your "real" booking.) Then modify the reservation once you've secured the other 2 rooms.

Yea it’s hard now and a PITA. If the walking pattern continues, every morning the first day will disappear. Though you might pickup a day a few days later. But since you need 3 rooms, I can’t imagine how hard that will be. I went through this for a fall trip. Walking started in September and didn’t end until February. Standard is only 20% of the rooms at Bwv. For my fall trip I had to be on my iPad every day for 12 days and at the end I had to call to combine all my reservations into one. I’ve been a Bwv owner only 14 years and this past year was the hardest time I’ve ever had to book and I don’t travel during holidays. Good luck.

Modifying a reservation can be done online. Good luck getting that 3rd studio!

You could get one studio and a 2 bedroom lock off and just shut the door. Then you have access to laundry and full kitchen for a few more points.

If it was me, I would do it every few days but before the last 2. I’ve seen the gap on missing days at the 2 sometimes 3 at the beginning. I wouldn’t do it everyday. I’d focus on your getting your next studio. As I mentioned when booking my October reservation for 1 studio, I got shut out for 12 mornings at exactly 8:01am. I ended up picking up leftover days to build my reservation. It was stressful. It’s also the hardest time to book too, which didn’t help. I’m already crunching my 2020 days now.

Thank you. I will make sure to did it that way. the 1st is now open again, but not the 2nd, so I just need to keep looking every second of the day for sure. October is the worse for sure when it comes to booking. We own at Poly too and plan to be there on Oct 1st 2021 for the Big Birthday. Only will need the 1 studio for that, but I have a feeling I will have to walk that one too. We are also in the middle of planning the rest of 2020 and 2021 with points.

This thread reminds me of the the good ol’ days (11 mo mark in 2013) when I once booked 8-9 std studios over presidents weekend (January 2014) for a huge extended family/best friends trip. It was at the 11mo mark, and we had two ppl booking furiously at 8am, but we got it. Needless to say it likely will never be possible again.
